  • 4:27 what series is that?

  • @Gabd3v Iron Leaguer, a sport mecha anime.

  • I have to say that this one didn't interest me much. :(

Maybe if it had some of the early Braves instead of Eldoran (Exkaiser up to J-Decker, or something like that), or something...

  • @maikutx It would be impossible for Bandai-Namco to ever get the rights to the Brave series except GaoGaiGar, as they are owned by their rival company, Takara-Tomy.

  • damn! i just recently got this game, and it's more likely i won't play it.

it' more about kids show or game!! no no no no no no no no...

6 or so years piloting silly robots !!!? is there many Gundam Series in this version ?

  • @zerax7

I don't expect you to be able to finish it either. Whether or not its "manly" was never the question; this thing is HARD.

  • @zerax7 implying gundam isn't silly either

  • @zerax7

so like in the description there's God Gundam. Where a bunch of men in tights fight in giant ethnic stereotype robots. Manly enough for you?

Or Mazinger, where all of the "female" robots launch their breasts at you.

  • @iiiiiifggffggffgfgfg , at least they are teenagers or big people, not 6~9 years piloting a giant robo....

and G Gundam is not enough for me

  • @zerax7

Then don't play it. There's been kiddy robos in SRW since the beginning. Original Getta was a kids show. Combattler V/Voltes V. ZZ Gundam. The list goes on.

  • @iiiiiifggffggffgfgfg complaining about this game seems personnel for you.

first i just complaining about the cast, second this is my opinion.

and about the kids shows you mentioned, in every SRT i play, my sort-out are : Gundams, Mazingers and Getter.

and how the heck the original Getter is a kids show ??

and ZZ character all 15 years and above, Commbattler V is same.

but playing with robot i don't know and the pilots kids is worse.

anyway, i may play it but certainly after beat some SRT Game

  • Getter Robo and Mazinger Z join alongside Tetsujin 28 and Astro Boy on providing the groundwork for mecha anime. The '70s was the Golden Age of Mecha as virtually every mecha at that time are treated like Superheroes (thus teh "Super Robot" genre) - something kids enjoy. So despite the sexual humor in Mazinger, or the numerous death scenes in Zambot 3, the mecha shows of the '70s categorized as being made for kids. All that changed when First Gundam came out.....

  • @zerax7

Not personal for me at all. I'll probably never play it because I don't own a Wii. Nice spelling btw. The original TV getter that nearly all srw use? It's a kiddy show with "the power of friendship" themes. Gundam ZZ was definately a kid's show up to the last 10-15 eps where they realized nobody likes a terrible kiddy comedy show as a sequel to Z Gundam.

  • @iiiiiifggffggffgfgfg ops sorry! bad english.

i don't think the Power of friendship is for kids (Gundam Seed has it too, and it's adult anime)

Gundam ZZ is kids show for its first 16 episode but it changed afterward to more serious tone. Victory Gundam was the same but anybody watches all of them will realize that's not for children..

but to clear this out, i don't mind seeing child series, but i mind seeing babies piloting Giant Robo, like there is no Big people in the city.

  • @zerax7

    >Implying any adult with half way decent taste would think animu for emo teenagers like Gundam Seed is for adult

    Good on.

  • @kaisama77 >Implying any Gundam series isn't for kids or emo teenagers.

    I lol'd.

  • You have no idea how happy I was when I saw that NG 40 and Ryuknight were in the lineup for Neo. Now if they just added Rayearth (and brought back Gaogaiga and Cybuster) it'd be perfect. (for me, anyways)

  • @HUOGoofballs Another good series to add would be Mashin Eiyuden Wataru. It would go along well with Lamune and Ryuknight. I'm honestly surprised that it hasn't been in an SRW game before, as it was quite popular in Japan back in the day and it's made by Sunrise.

  • HOLY CRAP MEMORIES

  • FUCK YEAH LYGER BOMB!!!!!!

  • エルドランシリーズとライガーとかなついw

  • The SRX should have been in this game. Every stage Ryusei would be all like, "that robot is awsome can I pilot it"

  • will there be a pal release?

  • sadly, no. Save Original Generations and Endless Frontier, the SRW franchise games were never released in English.

  • Lol iron leaguer concept was very unique for a fighting robot, i wouldnt have thought of it

  • yeah the series itself looks interesting in my opinion.

  • i play the first 9 stages of the game this first stages are veri large and fun whith any event and gain money is more easy but the bosses are hard.

  • the same than the gc tat appears the 3 j9 team but in this the 3 eldoran robots.

  • new getter can do the getter shine in this game?

  • Not sure, as I've yet to obtain a copy, but the game is already out.

  • nice, if you do can you put some vids on? i was waiting for Gambarugar, Lamune and New Getter!

  • You can get it off PlayAsia . com, imported of course.

  • where is zettai muteki !!!! how could u miss it !!!!!!

  • Rajin-Oh has already been in a game.

  • It's in the game, but the video only features the newest members of the roster. Raijin-Oh has appeared before on SRW GC/XO for both the Gamecube and 360.

  • Samurai Shodown + Getta Robo = Shin Getta Robo?

  • Could be amazing this game

  • For once can they put doraemon into the robot series.

  • Hmmm it pretty good that all old animes were included back again......

Why SRW Neo all new members came from the old series?

  • The staff at Banpresto were given the freedom to choose from which decade where the mecha shows appeared to be added to the new roster. The staff chose the 90's without hesitation.

  • I see....this SRW gives me another inspiration!...Love the new series though

  • ahhh 90's mecha huh... change is good and most of these mecha look like Supers so theres a lot of history here then ^^,

  • But Iron Leaguer is a sport anime, isn't it? How come it's in SRW?

  • It is possible the story of Iron Leaguer would connect with G Gundam as the latter's Gundam Fight is also a sport. It's also good to note that Iron Leaguer is the first sports mecha anime to be included in the franchise roster. That means other animes like IGPX and Basquash have a shot in joining in.

  • If so, I wonder what kind of attack they can use. I can hardly remember that anime.

  • What I really wanna see in this new SRW is how are they going to fit New Getter Robo on it. I mean... DAMN, I can see Ryoma teaching them how to use the Getter rays, Hayato teaching how to rip someone's ears, and Benkei... Well... I dunno, but probably doing something really badass.

  • Musashito, just to correct you. Maybe he he can teach them how to focus KI?

  • Benkei Musashito, I know. And most probably.

  • Owo....it may sounds wierd for such robot to enter SRW ..BUT!!! I would love to see it XDD lol IGPX and Basquash XDD

  • It's already SD? and Mecha? And has a kick ass opening theme? I see nothing wrong here. Hell it's about time.

  • Shiiiiit Neo is SRW Children Edition AND IT COSTS OVER 80 DOLLARS..

  • Comment removed

  • Well, you could just hack the Wii to play backups.

  • Ah the good old animes! As much as I NG Knight Lamune & 40 (Well look at my nick) as a kid it's really a rather odd fit with the general SRW cast with cute SD mechs that fit neither the real or super typecast.

  • Err, most of the entries are from Sunrise. Bur I'm still gonna get it for Good ol' Mazinger and Getter.

  • Jushin Liger I can't belive that I'm so excited!!

  • For story on the ZAFT side to carry on it needs to do with the Patrick Sara side of Coordinators (who dropped the yunius 7) controlling PLANT under jupitarian style dictatorship. Include seed destiny astray and delta for new scenes, and give Crossbone a role perhaps. There will be plans for humans to migrate to other galaxies (and thus macross frontier) and opening of Cross gates linking different worlds, this is an example of how another game goes. What are the different ideas you got?

  • Do not forget that Z's setting was that various universes were merged as a result of the "Break The World" incident (from Orguss, not SEED Destiny). Much of SEED Destiny's story has been told in full after the fall of Junius 7, so the roles of Kira, Athrun , and Shin would be a supporting one in the sequel. If anything, the stories from the next Z game would revolve around the new members with the bigger question as to who were the other Spheres after Rand and Setsuko.

  • Sorry I had forgotten about Gunbuster 2 before, which has some ridiculous unit sizes and mechs too. Not impossible to add GAINAX stuff into the seires.

The team system should be kept intact in another new series with so many units, the fromations, TRI and ALL attacks. Perhaps real can have more PLA weapons. Add in Tobikage, Machine Robo Cronos, Mazinkaiser, Shin getter armageddon, Ragjinoh, Gosaurer, Seed destiny and Crossbone gundam as well and u will get something closer to true Z sequel.

  • There is one dialogue scene in Z where Ryoma mentioned he saw a silhouette of the Shin Getter 1 in one of the domes, so there is a good hint we will see Shin Getter in the sequel. MazinKaiser is hard to tell as we don't know which version of it (the OAV or the Banpresto Original) will be used, if at all in that series. Crossbone can't be added because the events of CCA onwards never occurred in Z, save the appearance of the Nu Gundam. That leaves everyone else as possible inclusions.

  • Probably the Banpresto Original will be used, seeing as how this Kouji is the one from the Original Mazinger Z, and Grendizer.

Just makes sense if you think about that way, seeing as that's the Kouji we've always gotten the Banpresto Original Kaiser.

  • What about inclusion of these new series instead?

Gundam OO season 1 and 2

Gundam seed destiny Astray/ seed astray

    Macross Frontier

    Dancougar Nova

    Wings of Rean

Magic Knight Rayearth season 1 and 2

    Tengen TouPa Gulenlager

Code Geass season 1 and 2

These titles deserves to be in the sequel of Z way more with their multi-world/dimensional themes as well as complicated polittics, changing the world, adding the Cephorith world with princess Emerode as pillar brings new level if possible.

  • It's a policy of sorts that new series must be at least 2-3 years old after the ending was aired to be considered added to the roster. That's just one requirement. Next would be licensing, which we clearly see Gurren Lagann out because it is exclusive to Konami. Finally, how the story and universe of each series interact with others. Code Geass is virtually impossible to be added because of its setting and that Lelouch will just Geass everyone to do his bidding.

  • This isn't a sequel to Z though.

Along with the point ryoga makes about Gurren Lagann, the lineup looks like it's Super Robot exclusive. so Gundam, Code Geass, Wings of Rean(i think), and Macross are out because they're Real Robot series. G Gundam is the only Super Robot Gundam series apparently. Gundam Seed Astray and X Astray are in SRW W for the DS.

Dancougar Nova introduced w/o the original Dancougar would be weird, since as a pair they have a lot Combined Attack potential.

  • Sorry for the double post, but...

About Rayearth, it's been a long time since I watched it, but didn't the mecha aspect of the show only show in the last 25% of the show or something like that? it's kinda hard to pull tie the plot in w/o the Mecha in the majority of the story left out.

  • Rayearth wouldn't be in because of the mecha aren't exactly 'mecha' per se. However, thanks to the debut of Tekkaman Blade, Orgun, Zoids, and now the new members in Neo, there may be a chance shows like Rayearth may join in. Banpresto may opt for the OAV version as there is more mecha action involved as opposed to the TV series where battles are usually fought with magic (or do both). Rayearth's story and universe should be able to interact with the likes of Dunbine and/or Escaflowne.

  • I'd think Rayearth would interact best with Wataru considering the mechas from both anime are called Mashins.

  • Eldran! Iron League! Ryu Knight! Go!

  • And Lyger (it looks insane)

  • I can understand that almost all of these robot animes were for little kids and ten year-olds and that they are trying to reach to a new audience. However, the inclusion of New Getter is puzzling. It's like putting Crank Yanker puppets in Sesame Street (the best comparison I could think of).

  • Once again, the shows were for little kids when they CAME OUT. OVER FIFTEEN YEARS AGO. They aren't trying to bring in little kids, they're trying to get people who WATCHED THE SHOWS WHEN THEY WERE CHILDREN AND WOULD BE IN THEIR 20s OR 30s NOW.

  • Kids today still enjoy Looney Toons, Flintstones, Scooby-Doo, Tom & Jerry, among others even decades after they were first made. The same applies somewhat to animes.

  • My guess is that the inclusion of New Getter is done to suggest they are seniors of some sort (from the age of their franchise to everyone else) and as such they would teach the young pilots of their respective mecha a thing or two on how to really fight an enemy.

  • I actually like Ganbaruger. Brings back memories from when I was like 10.

I'm a big fan of Eldoran trilogy.

Also saw NG Knight 40 when I was like 12-13.

  • Is it just me, or is this list a lot more cutesy than other SRWs? Except for New Getter Robo(which is some really dark stuff) and some others.

  • It's going to be on the Wii so... Yeah..

  • New Getter is good....But no UC Gundam.

  • Come on, new getter is much better, plus we have the Eldran series.

  • Old school. Are there seriously no reals (barring G Gundam)?

  • According to Banpresto, the staff are free to experiment with what series from a decade they can add and they chose the 90's. If you look at the list of mecha animes at that time, there's a scarcity of RR shows appearing at that period, believe it or not, save the obvious series like Evangelion, the Gundams, and Nadesico. This is also the year the company is just playing around with their franchise and see what works before they get serious with the sequel to SRW Z.

  • To be quite frank, I'm waffling on the idea; however, I think it might create a lot more 'tactical' value. Some games overbreak reals (say what you will, as K did not- W is a different story altogether, however) and then you just get Mobile Suit Gundam 10 STOOD AGAINST 100 syndrome. Their beams may blot out the sun, but a cumulative dodge chance that streaks well over 400 says "NO."

    "Tonight! We dine! IN AXIS!"

  • no real robots / most super robots here aimed for 7-8 year olds = I think I'll pass on this one

  • that can describe most robot anime.

  • generally Real Robot shows are more mature....

  • And generally, supers are stronger than reals. Besides, most of the SR in this game are the anime I watched starting when I was 3.

This game is literally the memories of my childhood all clustered into one game, which makes this a must-get for me.

  • @WingsTM

lol no, most of them are pretentious mess trying too hard to be "mature"

  • Youtube video commented in *nicovideo* way:

    w_w_w.sweepvideo.c_o_m

  • is it just me or am i mistaking that Juushin Liger looks like Folka's Mech the Yadabiout in SRW OGG ? waH !

  • new getter appears in the game! i can

    whaiht to play it.

  • They brought the whole nursery into this SRW. Jeez, how are we suppose to snipe enemies from afar if there are no Real Robots? Oh wait, Go Shogun Is a long range type. Raijin-Oh might be a long range type after it gets the extension for his robot.

  • Braiger also has a Brai-Cannon as its long-range weapon. A game with virtrually no RRs is a bizarre change. But on the bright side, none of the cast in this one are engaged in a long-term war that is usually found in RR shows like the Gundam franchise (though the timeline follows G Gundam) in past SRWs. The inclusion of shows aimed at a younger audience suggests the game is for a similar demographic, so expect the gameplay to be more simplified for first-time TBS players like Dragon Quest Wii.

  • Uh, I know that there are a lot of kid shows in here, but they're all from the early 90s. Not many kids in Japan would know about them, so this makes me think that the game is more aimed at 20-30 year olds who grew up watching these shows, not actual kids.

  • That's so true.

  • @ryoga316

I played it, the truth is this game has many nice features never seen before in SRW game, real mech movement, the way SP and ships work, knock back, better terrain effects, flying and running ground are different. Don't let the look fooled you, it's hard to get into other SRW after this, they're just feel so....primitive

  • oh my god,,,

    so many kids show...

I hope SRW neo gonna be alright

  • New Getter <3

  • Ahh~

    Such a good time.
