Don't be put off, I have been playing Flamenco 40 years and I can STILL learn from my students. It's not about copying, but a kind of growth. You are growing. Suerte!
I also agree, csybu. I remember hearing you long ago. You have grown much since then. We all have to do it. My first teacher, Jaime Toro, had arthritis in his hands. He was not fast, but every cantaor and bailador in London wanted him to play for them. What he could do, he did very well. That was, to fit it all together to make real Flamenco. When one of your falsetas sends a shiver down your spine and sets off fireworks somewhere in your spirit, you are a real flamenco player. Suerte!!.
my dear friend guitarrist i just think you have to practice your self a little more,i´ve been playing flamenco guitar for years and i think you are not in the position to teach, please dont take it bad is just what i think, keep playing my friend..and dont take it bad..my comment.
check my video, seguiriyas con compas, and then check my older seguiriyas videos, you will see i have improved!
my subscribers have improved too, and i get a lot of positive feedback from them!
of course i always look up to a better guitarist, i know i'm not all that good :-P
in fact my friend elmaroquinole has sent a video reply to this lesson, demonstrating beautifully the alzapua technique! feel free to show us all how its done!
i just snapped a string, so i went into the city to get more, and while i was there i tried a whole bunch of spanish guitars. guess what? our manuel rodriguez sounds better than the majority of more expensive guitars! they all sounded so flat and dull on the nylon strings... i think we masde a good choice when buying our guitars :-)
In 1994 my teacher said that my old guitar was hard to play and that I needed another. He said to me the Rodriguez was a good one and sent me to a shop where they were a big choice of classic guitars. I tried several ones which were in my prices and I thought my teacher was right, the Rodriguez was the best in these prices. I bought the Rodriguez. People always said my rodriguez guitar has a good sound and I was told my guitar had a sound of guitars which are two times more expansive.
well i'll be posting the second and third bulerias very soon, they will help you get the rythym of the compas even more, so dont worry, you will get there!

awesome, i cant do alzapua cause i use a thumbpick
lonewolfshogun 3 years ago
you should try growing your thumb nail, its weird to begin with but it rocks!
delboy1978uk 3 years ago
I would but my thumbpick can not be removed from my thumb!!!!
lonewolfshogun 3 years ago
incidentally, i tried messing with a pick and alzapua, its one of the techniques i think you CAN do with a thumb pick!
delboy1978uk 3 years ago
I think your right but why do alzapua when you can do two hand tapping ha ha hee?
