Not writing nor recording, nor taking a song to the fame (only the first time, Igor's spreading it even more), doesn't make it impossible to have an improved version.

Though it's true that they originally crafted it, RHCP did a good acoustic guitar job. Igor has just made a(nother) masterpiece.

It's not a matter of fanboys (I'm one of Igor's), it's a matter of musicians.

First of all, better is a subjective qualifier, so it is a matter of preference and has nothing to do with the original artist. just because you are the first person to write a song doesnt make it the best version. what he did with this was more complex than any of the individual instrument tracks furthermore, the fact that they made it famous is irrelevant. plenty of people cover songs that arent nearly as succusful as this one.
