John Darnielle is brilliant and could play his music on a plastic toy guitar and still be wonderful `cause his songs are sublime but.......please go back to your Guild guitars John. That 'Rainsong' guitar has no soul and sounds thin and tinny in my opinion.

As a collector of vintage steel string guitars I acknowledge my possible bias without considering the basic fact that recording acoustic instruments can be very difficult. I`ve never played a Rainsong brand guitar but believe that they are a very well made instruments which have many advantages especially for touring musicians.
@Mouldytone i disagree, i think it matches his voice well. it sounds very pure, like a sheet of paper, it's very non-intrusive. it blends well. i like it.
