They didn't really need an escort, but it's a nice way to welcome the dutch national team home; they became second in the world soccer champioships. And it's a nice training for the F-16 pilots as well...

@officeboy1977 actually these F-16's, even though are display F-16's, are military aircraft, therefore they operate a different type of transponder code, not interveining with the 777's TCAS system, due to it's civilian transponder.

@Ghatzi91 Traffic Collision Avoiding System. It's designed to avoid mid-air collisions. Like when 2 planes are travelling at the same altitude and their ways cross, TCAS will tell one plane to increase altitude, and the other to decrease.
