  • Tnx for sharing with us!

I'm a 38-male patient with severe dilated cardiomyopathy. In 2003 implanted an ICD with excellent results. FE gone up from 20% to 40%. Great increase in quality of life. However, worsness didn't never stop. Now, after 7 years, I'm more or less at the same situation of 2003. Just tried with positive inotop therapy at hospital (dobutamine and levosimendan). Results where not significative.Seems that next step is entering in a waiting list for receiving a heart transplant.

  • hi there! thanks for the information but I think there is an error in getting the LVD(S) in the M-mode since u are measuring the papillary muscle..sorry, I just noticed...but thanks for the info...

  • weird video, i am 25 with similar circumstances (diagnosed 23) i have the bi ventricular icd etc and although my heart is still very enlarged i am much better and the medications do work very well. good effort for video but i think shows very negative view. thanks

  • Hi,

Thank you for your observation. The video does not aim to convey a negative perspective. .Dilated cardiomyopathy is a very common condition and many of them have good prognosis. But some patients(As in this case ) who have very severe LV dysfunction(EF 15%) have limited therapeutic option other than cardiac transplantation.
