Why not try to find a blower fan off of a old wood heater? my dad actually just got one from a relative, and will be using that as exhaust. You'll just need to make a mount for it.
A thought too if you can get 2 fans one on both sides on the bottom far opposit of the intake side just in case you are doing some heavy painting and need the fumes gone fast. You can also use just one while airbrushing. The fan I have is a industrial suction fan that is overkill I think. I had to drill holes in the the suction duct work to reduce the flow. It was making my airbrush paint miss my helmets. Lol worked great for clearing though emptied the room quickly . Sorry to ramble so much lol
You should have plenty of air flow with the furnace fan and check out the airflow videos and see if that gives you any ideas. With my booth I have a cross flow air flow and I had a lot of lint problems coming off my clothes so I picked up a tyvek suit at work. That helped a lot. If you can direct the air down the side from up top and suction on both side on the bottom that too may help a lot. My intake, me, my helmet, and my exhaust where in a straight line and it didn't work that good.
If you have more air(lots more air than fumes) 75%/25% or more air most likely you should be safe. I made a 7x7 in my garage for airbrushing and I'm not really happy how the air flow is set up. I'll post videos soon
@bindercrazy I appreciate your input. Im on the hunt now for a larger squirrel fan blower from a furnace like you mentioned, the I may move the small one I currently have to blow in fresh air up top. Should be just about right.
I love your booth very clean and perfect size. I have been watch videos on homemade paint booths. I would personally ground the plastic some how because of static and plastic. I would get some kind of kick ass suction fan the air flow on top is perfect you just need more up there it will be tough cause of the shape but the down draft will be perfect. Use a old furnace blower that would be perfect. One guy made perfect sence as far as the air flow verses the fumes going. 50/50 = explosion.
