  • Hedges wants to "break the back of corporations"? O'Leary is completely right about him. Just another leftist loon.

  • All of you are just mad because O'Leary has more money than all of you. And seriously? All of you are gonna catch feelings over what O'Leary says? "oh he's so mean, he's this and that". You're just as ignorant as you call him for not listening to his points of views without getting caught up in the "insults" - all he said was nutbar! GET OVER IT! All of you are babies that would never last in the the corporate world, that's why all of you are here criticizing a successful man with intelligence.

  • @RealJ8 oh fuck off!! "All of you are babies that would never last in the the corporate world" sounds like a teenege boy crying i'm better than you cause my dicks bigger!!

  • @ptrkoech hahaha ur garbage. instead of taking in the message i was trying to get out, u focused on one little part (which probably applies to you, otherwise u wouldnt be so mad). And my dick is bigger ;) go get laid buddy.

  • Sub prime mortgages was pushed onto the banking industry by the US government. Fannie and Freddie were forced to lend to people who they knew couldn't afford mortgages because of an affordable housing act put in place under the Clinton years by Chris Dodd. If the government had stayed out of the market these toxic assets would of never existed. It's another kooky liberal ideology that everyone should get something for nothing. RON PAUL 2012!

  • This O'Leary may be a prick.

But he happens to be right. Hedges is a maniacal nut. He writes hit pieces on people who he has debated with, and he blames atheists for the attack of Anders Brevik, a christian.

  • Chris Hedges is a a person of tremendous decency, lucidity, and integrity. I admire and respect him immensely!

  • OWS Knows what they are protesting, the corporate take over of the US government, the real word for this corporate take over is: FASCISM! O'Leary is defending fascism not out of ignorance, he is well paid and knowing shill.

  • Shame on Kevin O'Leary for responding to Chris Hedges in such a crude way. The CBC people made a terrible decision by pitting these two against each other. Although, it's probably brought all of the parties involved a lot more publicity than if it had been a polite normal interview. But seriously Kevin O'Leary shouldn't be interviewing anyone other than pitchers on dragon's den.

  • O'Leary is nothing but a corporate thug.

He is the epitome of what the media has constructed: Mean, selfish, jealous people. They feel so bad about their own insecurities that they have to be number one at any cost.

These are the people who look at OWS and think "There are girls there who are with people who don't have money. That is BS I have more money than them only I should get girls."

He is afraid of people putting aside differences and exposing his sell-out soul.

  • well no shit it's low budget! that's what this is about.

  • everyone commenting on how they hate oleary must be rich hey, oleary is what everyone should aspire to be, if you don't like him your a financial loser, its about time someone with these views is on TV , media is so left wing slanted these days that the right wing opinion never gets expressed, he is a breathe of fresh air.

  • what we can't call him a nut bar but yet Tea parters are called racist and crazy give me a break cause he is a loony left . and you people are loony left progressives. and Yet if that guy called Kevinoleary a crazy racist you gouys would be agreeing with him . this is life people some are rich some aren't

  • @Royelsworth wash your brain thoroughly every day. Avoid corporate media that seeks to dirty it. The female in this clip is just as guilty. She said that "Kevin made this point that nobody knows what they want" AFTER Chris already address Kevin's baseless argument. News is supposed to be reported, not created.

  • @Royelsworth That's absolutely pathetic. Hundreds of years ago you would be saying "this is life people, some are kings, some are peasants." I'm sorry that - in your only life on this earth - you've chosen to be one of the ignorant, manipulated masses.

  • I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. - Thomas Jefferson

  • "Don't take this the wrong way, but you're a fucking fat sack of retarded shit"

  • Kevin O Leary...if you call this guy a left wing nut-bar, then you're a right wing fuck nut. That is all

  • The description to this video is horrible .. the guy is not talkling about government cronyism towards wall street and it's financial institutions, he's essentially speaking on an unchecked portion of America's economy that just so happens to be integral to our financial infrastructure. Those are two different things .. and to suggest that Libertarians and only libertarians are against cronyism just shows your own bias. In the future, post videos without descriptions.

  • wah wah, You watch FOX..

pathetic, the man has a thin face..

  • Well said Chris . People with no new ideas and are afraid to weigh both sides of an arguement , react like Kevin did . CBC doesn't need his " Fox " like tactics , resign Mr. O'Leary .

  • Mr. Hedges, if you are watching this interview again, please understand that Kevin O'Leary is a cunt. Even on the Dragon's Den, he comes across as a cunt. We Canadian's don't like him either.

  • "Most of the lefties who are protesting in these Occupy *Insert location here* protests could sure talk to talk but they won't walk to walk. If the cronyism is applied to industries/groups that they like, I'm sure you won't hear a peep from these lefties. Only the libertarians are speaking out against ALL cronyism and favoritism. "

You're wrong but whatever makes you feel like you don't suck a corporate dick at will

  • Shame on CBC for hiring this pseudo-journalist. He belongs on FOX News, not on a public broadcasting network.

  • "some of the same folks who acted irresponsibly". I think he means, 'the bankers who criminally cheated their clients, crashed the economy, then got bailed out with taxpayers money.

  • nutcase vs. nutbar - important distinction - LOL

  • O'Leary is laughing all the way to the bank because he has millions anyways

  • Kevin O'Leary sounds like a right wing dipshit.

  • oh the PRESSTITUTES

  • Comment removed

  • Kevin O'Leary is an insult to the history of Canadian news and more proof that Canadian journalism has stooped to the bullshit of US and UK fake-populist right wing drivel. O'Leary versus Hedges is like a bratty spoiled child against his wise and grounded teacher.

  • The uploader throws a negative spin on Chris Hedges, but here is a positive spin on the same video:

  • I'm embarrassed for O'Leary. Really poor journalism. A complete disgrace.

  • That O'Leary is making the CBC look bad. They need to kick him off. Some may call him entertaining and opinionated on shows like the dragons den, but he has no place in news. Don't insult your guests. He might have money, but he has no sense or class.

  • I couldnt agree more with all comments here against Kevin. For me he symbolizes everything thats wrong with our society. Greed overtaking everything else. He has repeatedly confessed on TV that all he cares about is Money, which is so wrong. Theres a difference between mankind and animals. I would like to see the end of this guy. Im shocked CBC continues to air his programs.

  • They need to fire Kevin O'Leary. As a Canadian he has disgraced te country.

  • Mr Hedge seems like a very smart honest man i wish he was the spokesperson for all low class and middle class Canadians and Americans ,as for O Leary we need to keep the "A" HOLE around to remind us what we are up against :)

  • Note to Kevin: you ask a question by starting with "Do you..", not "You don''t.."

  • o leary has done it again and proved to all of us he is nothing more than a bad actor

  • This is what happens when A paid talking head tries to have an adult conversation with an intellectual.

  • @Angrybear123 moron alert!

  • @Angrybear123 You are an idiot.

  • this is a interesting time in the world we living in right now.. protesting dictatorship and winning and now attcking corrupt banks.. i cant wait to see whats going to happen in the next few year, is the world going to be a better place? i hope so.. long live the people

  • Obama. You're done. All your croneys as well.

    Change! Here we go!

  • people are so quick to just say "he's crazy" while knowing nothing about americas banking system.

i'd say that "nut bar" completely stomped that interviewer.

  • This vid is fantastic. Also, who even calls someone a "nutbar"?

  • Wow, thanks for the making CBC look like Fox..

  • What the hell is a "nutbar?"

  • Kevin O'Leary is playing the tough debater, which is key to get to the issues (he only said something offensive because that is the only way American's can understand)... Chris Hedges, from what I just saw, is also key to getting directly to the issues.

These two guys should have an hour debate on TV. Just them, nobody else. Because everyone else really cannot be as dynamic as these guys in handling tough issues, handling characterization attacks and still be able to talk.

  • This whole left wing-right wing format was tossed out the window when Jon Stewart tore a new a-hole for the hosts on Crossfire. Whatever happened to basic news reporting that - exactly as Hedges states - discusses the issues? The viewers are not idiots - we don't want the sound bite, we want reasoned discussion. I can't believe CBC has sunk to this level. Someone go on this show and just go - "Stop it, you guys. Please. Stop. You're hurting Canada."

  • RT=Real Truth

    lame-stream media:

    ABC = All Bullshit Channel

    AP = Associated Propaganda

    CBS = See BS

    FOX? = Full? of Xenophobia

    BBC = British Brainwashing Corporation

    CNN = Crap Not News

    NBC = Nothing But Crap

    Propaganda Mechanics

  • @unreal672003 RT isn't "truth"... it's what Putin wants you to hear. No different than Fox.

  • @Exmech2 if your going to make a point dude at least then say who is true then ? and if you believe RT isn't true then you can remain watching the other Propaganda Mechanics , they may give you true news.

  • LOL seriously he regretted he ever went on CBS for a interview and i don't blame him , as he said he would never go on Fox and from now on his going to boycott that fucken Propaganda Mechanic CBS.

  • Leary comes out looking like a silly goof

  • @stewbumer He IS a silly goof. He's another court jester trying to pass himself off as a pundit. The only thing Kevin has loyalty to is the CORPORATE MONARCHY that signs his paycheque. Anything that comes out of his mouth is Pavlovian rudeness: when his purchasers ring the money-bell he spits empty, offensive, fluffy platitudes meant to provoke people because his owners and their advertisers find it amusing to watch him abuse others on their behalf. He lacks insight and credibility.

  • @CarrieGraham1967

I take it you're a Canadian? So am I, and I agree with you 100%. O'Leary is a prick, an out of control egotist who doesn't mind seeing people suffer and be stolen from one iota... as long as he makes money. He's on par with the Wall Street thieves and pigs we''ve all come to know and hate. Clearly he had an agenda to minimize the OWS protests and he got caught. I found it rather thrilling to see his his "nothingburger" face get bitch-slapped so adeptly by Mr. Hedges.

  • @Albertarocks So basically you're mad because he's arrogant of his success? Why do you care so much how he is, you don't even know him to make the assumption of him being "an out of control egotist who doesn't mind seeing people suffer". That's not an insult to corporate thugs, that's a dehumanifying statement. Well, if he is such - you are a heartless animal with no reasoning. Buddy, you gotta get laid ASAP.

  • @CarrieGraham1967 Wow, speaking of nutbars!

  • Absolutely reprehensible that this politically biased OLeary hack stooped to such

classless attacks on a guest. Oleary and the poster of this video are corporatist extremists, swindler-enablers and lowlifes...Ironically this poster did nothing but post a video of one of the best arse kickings OLeary has ever deserved and he has deserved many....lol !

  • I can not believe a CBC reporter, a Canadian, would be do rude to a guest.

  • The CBC is usually much better than this. This is an embarrassing example of bad journalism.

  • @jordanbimm Hey genius, if this is an "embarrassing example of BAD journalism" than it is therefore good journalism. Get your red-neck ass off CBC and go back to watching FOX news.

  • O'leary was out of his depth in this interview and resorted to insults in the hope of appearing to know what he was blabbing about. An interview with Steve Paiken on TVO would be very interesting and informative.

  • O'Leary is embarrasing. I was thinking of buying his book. It was obviously written with a Crayola. Buying Hedges newest book.

  • In CBC's defense: The Lang and O'leary Exchange features Amanda Lang a left wing woman and Kevin O'leary a right wing man. Amanda usually balances the show out. BUT Amanda wasn't there for the show when Chris Hedges was.

  • Chris hedges: a smart dick who's fuckin' these stupid assholes.

  • O'Leary: proof the CBC is just another outlet of FOX News. CBC news coverage on the 'economy', 'royalty' and the Wall st. protest proves it. Hedges is well spoken and absolutely correct to say 'never again'. I'm insulted for him.

CBC - your credibility is going out the door...

  • What an embarrassment to CBC. Fire him.

  • "I didn't call you a nut case, I called you a nutbar".... really Kevin. That is pathetic. Get off the news

  • Hedges is a brilliant man. It's sad that this program would pair him with this moronic and juvenile O'Leary character. Is the CBC becoming another FOX NEWS?

  • you should be fired from the CBC! he's right u sound like u shuld be on fox news, FCK YOU!

  • What a disgrace....Debating with O'leary is like debating a filthy rich 5 year old. Shame CBC! Shame! On another note, O'leary's Twitter feed will give you a good idea of where he is at...Miami Beach drinking Grey Goose, while other people are trying to give a shit.

  • what a load of marxist rubbish. a lot of these protesters want jobs. try getting a job while dismantling the evil corporate system.

  • @wayfarin

I hear this argument all over the place. A very similar one was made about 150 years ago. Don't bite the hand that feeds you, essentially, was what the slave-owners expected would (and did to some large extent) keep the slaves complacent. If this is all that it takes to a keep a person like you in line, then by all means, step aside and let the people who aren't afraid to call a spade a spade, voice their concerns and grievances.

  • @EmeraldAxe2

you hear the argument all over the place because the elimination of private property for the sake of the common good was attempted multiple times, and every time, all of society ended up effectively enslaved. in cuba you have to ask a government official permission to sell your small surplus of locally grown organic food. sounds like subjugation to me. you need to learn your history.

  • Hedges STILL should go on CBC but without dumbass FAUX news lacky Oleary. He's intelligent and gave a cogent position.

  • does the CBC support the opinions of mr. o'leary or do they have him for sensationalist rates grabbing effect? shame! mr. hedges very eloquently presented his argument and mr. o'leary had nothing more than "you sound like a left wing nut bar". good one, mr. o'leary. hurling impotent insults has never worked. i wonder if mr. o'leary even bothered to inform himself of the issues. no substance. all flash. boring.

  • I think CBC is trying to get some of the 'right-wing nut bars' over to the CBC so they're putting people like Chris H on air and letting them say things like 'left-wing nut bars'. "This sounds like FOX news!" LOL! It totally does. Careful, CBC.

  • @petie71 Oops! I Meant Kevin O, ot Chris H. Lol. x

  • Finally! Someone who nails the CBC for what it really is......

  • Thou shalt not second-guess Chris Hedges

  • Take two minutes, contact the CBC ombudsman, and complain.

  • fuck kevin o'leary

  • Kevin was always a prick, Chris really put him in his place.

  • contact CBC and let them know how you feel!

  • Wow, Kevin O'Leary is an embarrassment to the CBC. I can't stomach cable news, and this anchor's disgusting behaviour is exactly why. What a deliberate attempt to smear Chris by using adolescent bullying. This guy's not a journalist. He's a tool.

  • thank you Chris, !! being a canadian i finally got to see someone put the Kevin dick in his place! masterfull, i loved it, but please dont let that stop you from doing more broadcasts, we all needed to hear what u had to say ,and u did our country a great favor by saying it!! thanks again, an appreciative canuck

  • That bald talking head--what a jackass! I've read almost all of Hedges books and follow his column on Truthdig; this guy is solid substance and one of the most insightful social analysts writing today and one of the few with an undeviating moral compass. Shame on CBC for treating him so disgracefully. Chris Hedges is right: CBC and Fox News--what's the difference? They're both agents of the corporations we must fight against.

  • @jimtrueblue99 CBC is owned by the Canadian Government, you idiot. It's the opposite of a corporate broadcaster.

  • @KWienz And just exactly what makes you think that corporations don't control governments and governments don't do the bidding of the corporations that buy and own both them and the politicians who form governments? Hello? Have you been paying attention, oh, the last decade or so? Did you listen to any part of what Chris Hedges said?

  • ZERO JOURNALISTIC INTEGRITY. FIRE KEVIN O'LEARY NOW.

  • I won't suggest that you read Chris Hedges or educate yourself for I suspect you are either profiting from Wall Street criminality, or not capable of critical thinking. Else you would have known this video showed Chris Hedges to be the superior man in regards to consciousness, humanity, and class.

  • Great video of an ass kicking delivered by Chris Hedges. LOL at the clueless fuck who uploaded this thinking otherwise.

  • @ch1cusoo your a loser. You think your on the winning team when your not. There are only about 6000 globalists in this world. The rest of the population are 99 per centers. Even the traders on wall street will be screwed out of their investments by off shore hedge fund managers and naked short traders just like the nobles of western Europe were by the autocratic monarchs.

  • low budget is a criticism - HA Does he think the revolution is funded? Hedges is great except where he denies being left. If not on the left, where will friends be found?

  • @linda151515

The left is too loose a term. I think he prefers more specific labels, if at all. He is correct that if you take the old definition of conservative, then his views, like other so-called "radicals" are actually conservative (in the Enlightenment sense of the word). His characterization of conservatives as you and others probably understand it is as outright radical fascists (pro racist, pro military, anti habeas corpus etc).

  • Here is a true american !

The journalist interviewing him sounds so fake that I'm disgusted

  • Fuck that asshole interviewer!

  • Chris Heddges is a man of class and nobility. I have met him, and he's a nice and humble man. Who needs CBC? That man insulting him was a pompous fool.

  • @BarryNBliss

I don't think it's all bad. Hasn't Hedges been on other CBC shows before, which were much more civil? I'm pretty sure there are some youtube videos around which would validate that claim.

  • While international weapons trade is expected to remain a dominate force in the U.S. economy, earning over $72,000,000 per hour for contracted companies, only 400 people own the equivalent in wealth of half the country, 154 million. In the U.S., the top 0.001% earn ¢12 of every $1.00 we spend. We are the 99%, you see, statistically.

  • +1 Chris Hedges

  • Whoever posted this doesn't know a damn thing about Chris Hedges (not Hedge), I have read most of his books and you might see fit to try and read him before you paint him as a "left wing nutbar". Educate yourself.

  • Comment removed

  • @starkweather444 Took the words right out of my mouth. Whoever posted this video explicitly broadcasted his or her own ignorance, and should feel at least a little embarrassed about that.

  • @stalling1919 Well said. The poster of this video seems to be utterly unaware of how idiotic they are.

  • Yeah Chris! Lol He's so much more intelligent than that bald headed, Bankster ass licker, it's pathetic. Keep speaking the truth Chris. :]
