Fannie and Freddie were forced to lend to people who they knew couldn't afford mortgages because of an affordable housing act put in place under the Clinton years by Chris Dodd. He is correct that if you take the old definition of conservative, then his views, like other so-called "radicals" are actually conservative (in the Enlightenment sense of the word).
