  • seems a bit unpersonal, even tho they are so close to each other. Shouting as well :P Thank you;.

  • "Years ago you served my father in the 2004 election now he begs you to help in his struggle against the Republican Empire. I have placed vital information to the survival of the Democratic Party in this R2 unit and my father will know how to retrieve it, you must see this R2 unit safely delivered to Chicago, this is our most desperate hour.

Help me Barack H Obama, you're my only hope."

  • wow computer graphics :D

    never seen that before :P

  • She looks like Maria or Sven from Delta State.

  • Her pants look like a gown, most likely because they can't be seen through by the cameras that capture her image.

  • can i still ram her ass if he is a hologram? :-?

  • This is scary truth.

Reminds me of a Biblical text in the Book of Revelation where some people will worship the image of the beast.

Google this if you don't have a Bible : Revelation 13:11-15

  • Media: "For the 1st time ever, HOlograms on TV!"

AVG. American: "Woww cool, it's like star wars!"

Informed American: "We had this tech for years, who gives a flying fuck?"

  • bla, bla, bla...1st hologram live on TV

    bla, bla, bla

Just shut up, you, fuck faces! Shut up and sign the ANTI CLUSTER-BOMBS treaty at OSLO. Do something for the world piece!

Till then, just shut up your fucking mouth, you BASTARDS!

  • For the new season of Who wants to be a millionaire in Norway, Vizrt developed Software for TV 2 (Norway) which allowed the audience at home to play a long with the contestant in the studio.

  • fucking weiiirrd.

  • Might give a shit if she were naked.

Technology keeps getting fancier but to what end?

NONE! Big Fukkin Deal. Nothing here IMPROVES the News.

GIMMICKs rule the world. It's pathetic.

  • o_0 true? Can't be, or?

  • fake

  • It's real.

  • The best political holograms on television..

  • wooooooooooooooooooow

  • What was the point of this? Does this lend any credibility to CNN? I say no. Rather it makes them look less serious about doing their job -- bringing people the news.

    Goofy.

  • I wonder if you still can feel her up?

  • Help me Wolf Blitzer, you're my only hope

  • that was pretty cool I don't care if she isn't actually a hologram

  • this is bullshit, maby they should learn what the hell a hologram actually is before they talk all this shit, oh and i love how before they did this they were going on about how it was "new technology" (and no i dont think they say it in this video, i heard it somewhere else)

  • never been done before(unless you have watched the weather)...hologram was a hoax..simply 40 camera and blue screen technology..there was no hologram...watch the discovery channel footage...videos called

"cnn hologram tv first hoax exposed on discovery channel"

  • Well Wolf you are right about one thing "I have never seen anything like this, and I hope this is the last time I see this crap tech on the news, enough...Hey Wolf try to beam yourself out.

  • ....

How embarrassing. Did they really think we would be wowed by this pointless gimmick? Surely both Blitzer and Yellen must have been thinking, "God, they're not paying me enough for this kind of humiliation."

  • I sure would like to get into Jessica Yellin's panties. That is if she wears panties.

  • lololololololollololol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 35 HD CAMERAs = this video

  • feets?

  • i tought it was fake from the beginning,

but the technology to create hologram exist..

you can find them on youtube

  • its 2 dimensional projection

  • Anderson Cooper 360 on CNN just said that it might not be a real halogram, but it's cool.

  • CNN, I am so disappointed in you.

  • this is NOT A HOLOGRAM. why?

    1. if it is a hologram, there should be a reflection on the shiny floor. if there are no reflections, therefore, the other news caster is not seeing anything in front of him.

    2. if it is a hologram, her holographic image should not move when camera moves. notice her feet is not stuck in place in the red spot when the camera pans.

THIS IS CLEARLY MISLEADING. this is why you shouldn't watch too much television.

  • i was very impressed and pretty shocked seeing it in the first time. God, who knows where the technologies today could go. But then i read your comments and then i realize that her image does not reflect in the floor (which is so reflectable). There wasn't even a single light from her. So definitely this is fake :).

  • This is not the first time on live TV, and this isn't a hologram -- the host does not really see her in the room. She's extracted from the source location with a bluescreen, and superimposed. The studio cameras have software that synchronizes their position with the source cameras. Last, to superimpose her, they use the same technology used in football games to draw lines on the field; since the camera software knows the position of the camera, it knows where to draw her.

  • shut up hater your just mad u dont work for cnn i work the media computers for the cnn studios i was there i saw it what would you know

  • Oh really? I work for the VR company that set up the remote studio. You must have been the idiot cameraman that kept screwing up the encoder.

hehe, just kidding. I know you're too young, Willy.

  • good idea for porno movies... :)

  • haha lol never thought of that

  • Extreme bullshit!

A split screen costs much less.

  • Not a hologram. So all you patriotic norwegians can shoo cut the whole "We made this , thank us!"-act.

  • I think he doesn't see her, it's just an effect on TV (i think...)

  • I like the fact that CNN chose the most important day of the year (superbowl excluded :D ) to make this spoof.

  • I just watched the daily show and this clip was on there and I literally laughed out loud for about a minute and I was like, I have to find this on youtube...ahahha...wow...nice CNN...

  • " i wanna talk to you as i would normally talk to you.. if you smelled like ass and i had to stay 30 feet away from you... and you had to stand on a red dot." Cheesey, no different then just putting her up on a split screen.. cept now we can spoof it.

  • He says he's seeing her, but it's a reference to the broadcast we're seeing, not as if she's in front of him. This is a "tomogram", not a "hologram". A tomogram has 35 cameras and a good computer placing her on a screen as if she was visible in a studio. The red disc on the floor is just bullshit to make people think it's coming from there and as a placeholder for what direction the person actually there has to look over at.

  • True. 1:25-1:45 she's doesn't move but her projection moves with camera.

  • that's crazy

  • I want to see him go over and slap her in the face.

  • huge step forward for pornography

  • lol

  • Amazing-ness~!

  • can da holograms move?

  • I wish Jessica Yellin would have did that hologram while nude. She is a very nice looking woman!

  • it´s a bullshitgram

  • CARACA

  • They must take us all for absolute morons. Can't fool me.

  • This is a piece of shit. The old crappy guy can't see her in the studio, the cnn only "create" this only for the people who are home watching, is only a "ilusion" for tv, just like the tecnology are used in wheater programs.

  • umm no it is real and a hologram and you are a fucktard

  • I second that... :P

  • it's real! A norwegian company called "Vizrt" made the technology. Btw, ur a dirty tampong..

  • Beam me up!

  • America, congratulations with a great new president, although he has a lot of work to do! Greetings from Holland, Europe. By the way; nicely done by CNN!

  • It's just something a Norwegian company helped CNN with. CNN told them to make it look worse than it original was due to the fact that it looked like the person was actually in the studio. CNN wanted the Starwars look.

  • star trek ?

  • It's not really a hologram. He can't see her in the studio.

  • For months now, I've been listening on coast to coast am, and they have been talking about the military being able to project holograms into the atmosphere, and after seeing this, well, it's kinda weird.

  • this technology was delivered from a company in Norway. thank us for creating the future:)

  • That's right!

  • The question for the future. What will be real and what will not! Imagen how the army could use this........ I just hope that the movies have not told us where the world is going to becuase if I see what the movies of today are about, Me Robot etc etc etc than we must...... you fill it in!

  • Where's the golden bikini?

  • This was amazing. CNN Dominated the election coverage. Great job CNN!

  • wheres the lightsabers?

  • lame. its a 3D-Animation implented in a 2D screen.

sci-fi is a black american president, though. congratz!

  • Its kinda cool, but why is she standing like she dumped her pants?!? Also, he says that it's nicer than having her stand with people screaming behind her, but she's in a tent anyway... so what's the difference? Plus she looks like a midget. Not as cool as it could have been. Beam in someone important and then it would make some sense, not just a reporter.

  • Meant to say "Live compositing"

  • This is not a fucking hologram you idiots. It's like compositing with remote camera move matching. They made it look all fuzzy and faded so that you retards would think Wolf was looking at a hologram. Wolf is looking at empty space and you guys are impressed by a special effect that could have been done in the eighties...

  • Sorry derpenstein, this could not have been done in the 80s nearly as well, since it requires a ring of statically placed cameras to virtually recreate a 3d image, that can be displayed from any angle. Its hi-bandwith and very cpu-intensive. The 80's counterpart would be to mechanically match a remote camera to wolf's camera.

  • I think it could look about as good as it looks here, with the minimal camera moves and the faked image distortion to make it look like she's projected in front of Wolf in the studio. With the tech as u describe (which I understood is the case), they should be able to do elaborate camera moves with better image quality. That's why I think it's so dumb to fake the idea that her image is actually in front of Wolf in the studio.

  • Yes, it is very misleading the way its presented here. Most comments assume Wolf can see her standing in front of him, which is not the case at all.

  • Jessica Yellin: "What? Im sorry, I cant hear you over the sound of how awesome I am."

  • a crew form bergen in norway made this. they said they had to make it "not to real" so it was clear she wasn't actually there after CNNs request. that's the reason it's a little bit fuzzy an a white line around here.

  • Go Bergen!

  • I wish he'd put his hand through "her"! That would be cool!

  • It doesn't count, Blitzy isn't actually seeing her, he's just pretending to look at her. They just synched the cameras.

  • Well its still a hologram in the sense that she is a 3d composite of several perspectives. In this case, stitched together from 30 camera views. Technically wolf could now easily slap on a pair of head tracked VR goggles and be presented with two unique views of her from his viewing position.

  • HOW!?

  • cool !

    it's starting already...

    we live S F

  • I was totally expecting to be rickrolled.

  • all you need is a green screen and a couple of cameras at the same angles in each setting.

not that advanced, but if they run with it it could look pretty cool. Id like them to put a couch in the same lighting and position in each to have the hologram sitting or something, thatd be sweet

  • This is pretty awesome.

  • That's cool. Just wait till it's *perfected*

    Wow that is really cool!

  • I thought is was cool. Something different. It's one giant leap for media kind! LOL

  • fuck YOU CNN

  • wtf can somebody tell me if this is a computer animation or real in the studio!?

  • I don't think they would be able to edit live television...

  • You, despite your name, are an idiot. They can and already do. In fact I now know for a fact that Wolf cannot see the hologram (he's acting), so it's fake.

  • Help me Wolf Blitzer, you're my only hope

  • Fire BAD. Sun GOOD.

    OMG it's a special effect!

  • Hmm.. she didn't look very beastlike to me. Maybe your reception is fuzzy. Are you not on digital? LMAO

  • I believe in myself, and trust me, I am pretty fucking awesome

  • How bad ass was that shit? The election coverage on CNN was worth watching just for this moment :-)

  • Could CNN beam Joe the Plumber to Hades?

  • :O

    No way...

  • holy shit...

  • Fuckers got rid of it!

I wanna see this pro ass Hologram!

  • its the emperor

  • BEHOLD, THE FUTURE~! And it looks an awful lot like a certain movie predicted it would in 1979.

  • how many years before chat rooms or virtual worlds start using this technology from an individual's home?

    Impressive indeed - telepresence.

  • isnt it Star Trek?

  • oh my god i never technology like this existed

  • Jessico Yellin is freakishly small.

  • Yeah. I was impressed.

  • I don't like CNN much but this is spiffy...

  • omg..this is soooo awesome...

  • That is just all kinds of awesome.
