Hi! I'm from LA too, and lived in the SF area for 7 years. I love CA, but I love the northwest, and Spokane, just as much (well, more!). What I appreciate is that all the city amenities you need are about a 10-15 min walk from campus, plus we have beautiful outdoor rec all around us. If you want an accessible city with easy access to skiing, biking, kayaking and other outdoor rec, then this is a great place! Btw- there are a lot of Californians up here!

Gonzaga is a great place. I am an LA transplant myself. Spokane is like a major city but easier to get around. Downtown has a great mall, movie theater, art house theatre, concert halls, clubs, an arena, and great restaurants ranging from Sushi bars to PF Changs. Hoopfest, America's largest 3-on-3 b-ball tournament is also held here.
