I love these guys! I need help with a song if anyone can please view the unknown song video and see if y'all know it or not? Myself and many other dj's have been trying to find this for over nine years. I was recorded by me off the quake around 1982-83ish and the gap came out shortly after. Any help would be appreciated! thx!
@devil13332 no you want to be born in 70s because if you were Born in 80s you would just be a baby and still deal with this new music crap. If born in 70s, you would live the 80s and be an adult with this crappy music. And be to busy to listen to it!
i really wish i was born in the 80's when depeche mode and the thompson twins came out..........but nooooo i was born in the 90's and now i have to deal with the stupid shit songs out now, what do i have to look forward to when i get older to relive my teens? stupid ass lil wayne and transvestite lady gaga, i HATE the music out now
Most of the 80's music is overrated but music like Thompson twins,Erasure,Yazoo aren't overrated. Mostly I'd prefer music from 1800-1979 but these are some 80's exceptions
@jojolovejoy You can not have said it better, bro I hate it when commercials and shows do that and then tweens like these songs and we get annoying comments
@duraniekanario Nobody beats out Arcadia or D2. I saw D2 this year at Coachella 2011 and they fucking rocked it. I saw D2's Reflex Tour in the 80s and they're BETTER today than they were then! Wish the Thompson Twins would come back, tho.
Is it just me or is this track more relavent now more than ever? It was about the Soviet Empire, but listen to the lyrics. Even the eastern melody fits..
I remember this song very well not by name because I've been looking for it, just happened to come across Thompson Twins on my search and then a light came on!
They used to call this music "new wave" back in the day. Anyone listen to WLIR 92.7 FM Garden City Long Island during the 80's? I was into metal back in those days but I secretly indulged in a little WLIR from time to time....at least I knew who The Smiths were in '84 ;)
When i collected all their singles and albums i could not wait for Into the gap to come out as a single. Unfortunately they decided to bring sister of mercy out as a single(Hannah's choice i believe) instead. I always bought the extended versions(12 inch vinyl disc), but was so disappointed this particular single didn't make it out as a single.
Well, Into the Gap was released as a single in 1984, but only in US, Germany, other European countries, but not in the UK. You can check it in discogs.
Probably my favorite TT song....hadn't heard it in years..somewhere I have the cassette tape that had this and some extended plays as well on it...I remember finding it in a bargain bin during the 90's. Saw the Thompson Twins in concert in 1985...just a clue to how old I am....I was a Jr. in high school! LOL!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
First time I'd ever heard this song was when I was with my college girlfriend (aka the sexiest student Boston).
I was never the Thompson Twins fan that she was and she loved to play music while in the midst of you-know-what...
This song went too perfectly with her hot, exotic looks; long, black hair (which went almost to her knees!) , slightly corpulent, perfect olive skin, dark brown eyes.
I listen to it now...I close my eyes and I'm in her bed, being treated like a king. ;-)
@RoMeOHoMeO Maybe. But when you get to be my age and are reminded (by hearing this great song) of a certain unreal experience...well, you feel compelled to brag a little.
This reminds so much of classic India. U know that Aladdin kind of age. But just like today's shit music, India is some place runned by some son of a bitch gangsters.
Whatever that is false. Although yes I do like Take on M, Tears for fears has been my favorite band since I was 15 i'm now 17 and the thompson twins are my second favorite band. East is East!!
yeh agreed, the 80s had soe seriously talented artists, it also had an equal amount of throw away rubbish, however thompson twins were amazeing. also human leagues what dreams are made of, the leage unlimited orchestra version is one of the best of the time in my opinion
i'm a youngin and i love the 80s...which includes these songs...i had the greatest hits tape and now i have it on cd. but i first got started on the t-twins wit here's to future days...kinda mad the tape got ruined tho...we cnt even find it on CD anywhere
@Pinballpete007 Every generation has thier soundtrack and no matter how many music vid sites I go to every single person will say their decade was the one that was the best while the one after is derided, people from the 70s will always say the 80s was syntehtic crap, and people from the 80s will say the 90's was crap and people from the 90s will say grunge rules and the 00s are shyte, but its only because uve stopped ebing interested in whats released once ur into ur 20s and 30s thats all
@bluejeckett I totally agree! I love listening to 80's music because it's when I was a teen. However, each decade has its merits. I love a lot of modern music as well as music from the 50's and 60's and everything in between. Great comment on your part!
@Pinballpete007 i loved the 80's, grad 83! hollar! anyways i like rap when it first came out, curtis blow, sugar hill gang, etc...rap now..sorry...too vulgar 4 me and i'm a grown woman if i had kids it would not come into my house. like i said went to all black school but mtv opened my eyes to different kinds of music which i STILL love today especially UK, Germany, anyting overseas really. :)
For me it takes me back to Djarum clove cigs downtown Portland Oregon and a dance club called the Plaza. Oh and narrow ties and cardigan sweaters :) Toodles
Huh? Warm summer hardwood floors...WTF? Anyway, I do agree that this tunage takes me back. To cruising down East Broad St in my little rolling stereo, 1000 Watts, 17" subs, and an Alpine head unit. Nowa days they throw people in jail for doing that. So I got rid of it. Wow is right. Thanks for posting this.

Ah the 80s.... No decade will compare to the music that came out of this decade.
I was in high school when this song came out. It was always played at our school dances.
Now all the kids listen to rap which is crap in my opinion.
Thanks for positng this awsome song and letting me relive being 16 again :-)
