I think that Boeing is probably going to scrap the 747 after a few newer versions. Don't get me wrong, I like Boeing, and I'm all for the 747, especially the 747-8, but I think that if Boeing could make a BWB 797 with double-decker seating, they could potentially catch-up to Airbus with the A380 faster...passenger carrying wise.
Definitely, Boeing has always set the standards in commercial aviation manufacturing. Airbus is always sitting back, eating cheese, drinking seasoned Bordeaux wine waiting to see what Boeing comes out with next so that they can easily say okay now let's just add the silliest, stupidest little feature and call it the A380Breadstick looking shit. The Queen B747 is coming back with a vengeance to claim the skies that she's reigned upon for the last 40 years! Boeing is Best!
I think its a bit early for the A380. Lets wait 40 years as in the case of the 747 and then comment. The 747 has already transported the equivalent of half the planet's population 3.2 Billion people in 40 years. That is amazing. She is still the most gracious queen of the skies and I think she will for a while still.
A380 totally looks lumbering compared to this smooth New Queen of the Skies. I can't wait for the Passenger Version and I suspect it'll be better than the Freighter Version. Boeing is a mighty company which required several European countries to unite to take it on and this plane is one of reasons why!
sweet!! I went down there to watch at my lunch break, but they delayed it due to clouds, and I had to get back on the airplane to finish my job (777 body structures... the buttsplice waits for no one!!) lol
This is better then the A380 but this isn't the plane going against the A380
