I'm from West Virginia, but my ancestors came from northern England. It is interesting to see our Appalachian dancing being done in the area that influenced it - a kind of reverse preservation.
Graham, this is a fabulous clip. It's clear to see that you are all enjoying yourselves immensely. If I was in the audience, I couldn't stand still either ! Thanks, it's great to see that the old-time Appalachian folk tradition is being kept alive so well, and that the torch continues to be passed on to the youngsters coming through. Bascom Lamar Lunsford would be mighty proud of you !!
Saw them at Sidmouth about 17 years ago, they were superb.

Are these people from West Virginia? I keep watching this over and over again because it is so fun, enjoyable, and pure. Great job!

From Chesterfield if I remember right.
(That's not the one near Richmond VA, it's the one with the crooked spire between Sheffield and Nottingham.

Everyone looks like they're enjoying themselves :D This kind of reminds of the barn raising dance scene from Seven Brides for Seven Brothers!

Really enjoyed this. We (my son and I) are relatively new members of a group, and love it! Well done, and keep up the good work.

Thanks Jane! Glad you liked it.
The team all like going to Saltburn so we may see you there sometime. I'm the guy in the video with the beard.
Best wishes,
Graham
