The Temple was pre-fabricated in Reno beginning in early May. Early Aug, 24 trucks rolled to Gerlach for staging. They did the site survey on Aug 10. The crew started arriving on 8/11 and 8/12 (after the fence was up and BRC medical folks were there). Putting all the pieces together and adding all of the embellishments was a crazy, intensive undertaking for 120+ people. We rented the biggest mobile crane in NV to put the central tower together. Serious anchors kept it from blowing away.
@jasonhill77 Hi Jason, the temple bells/chimes were, indeed, beautiful. But I didn't really have a "clean" audio recording of them and for some of the external shots the audio is a little distracting, because I filmed this on a DSLR camera using the built in mike which is not particularly wind shielded etc. So i opted to have a single, non-playa-recorded audio track. But yes, anyone watching this would be encouraged to seek out other clips of the temple for the audio experience.
@BGenerous - looks can be deceiving ;-) This thing went through a LOT of changes constantly throughout the project, up to the moments before it burned. Total construction time was about 6 weeks, fabbed mostly in Reno with final assembly in Black Rock. go to temple2011(dot)org
@marniespeaks I have no idea how long it took to build, but I am sure if you search for "temple burn" you'll see exactly how it ended, and not by dismantling.....

this is fantastic video. why wouldn't you have the temple's bells/chimes be the audio?
