thanks for sharing! i've had difficulty because my skin's become oily lately. and re: sun- don't hide from it! minimal sun exposure is actually good for it, and for life in general. the dermatologist even recommends up to 15min of unprotected sun exposure every now and then. aside from the skin, sun exposure also triggers a series of beneficial chemical reactions within the body as well. the sun, just like everything else we consume, is ok in moderation.
Hi Angie. Have you watched "Face Off". I saw that the other day and thought of you. I think you would be great at any of those challenges and pretty sure you'd win!! You're very talented. Thanks for your videos.
Clinique's Moisture Surge is fantastic for drier skin types, as opposed to the Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel. Although I've tried and love both :)
I have been wanting to get a clairsonic. My biggest question is does the head spin or vibrate? I bought a neutrogena exfoliator and it works well, but I would really like something that spins. THANKS ANGIE....you make me laugh so much. Keep up the great work.
Yay! I'm so glad someone has finally said being fair skinned is beautiful! I've been ridiculed all my life about my fair skin, but I've recently embraced it and love it. Thank you for this video!
@goldiestarling I have large pores also but recently I bought Neutrogena's Pore Refining Toner and I noticed my pores were smaller in 2 days; After I wash my face, I soak a cotton pad & swipe it over the problem areas as directed, then hold it there for a few seconds. It smells great, doesn't burn your face or a hole in your pocket. You should check it out. :)
How often do you change replace clarisonic brush head and how do you take care of the brush (like washing it with anti bacterial soap etc..) Thanks so much!(:
People always say to me go put some sun glasses on your skin is to bright. Or they say "say it with me Brandy, sun"!!! Ugh. I used to feel bad but now not so much. My skin feels so good when I exfoliate but being I have extremely oily skin it tends to produce more oil when I do. I can't win.
I'm pale and I'm always burning in the sun. In the past I wanted to be tanned, but now... I love to be pale, really. I love when sun is shining, but I always use tones of sunscreens because I don't want to get burned again and just because I love my skin as it is ;) I don't need a suntan to be awesome :D
It's weird 'cos in Asia people are trying so hard to paler and whiter, while where you are people are trying to get tanner. LOL! We just can't be happy with we have, apparently.
So any many people tell me I should tan. I tell them "No thank you. I don't wan't to look like beef jerky when I'm older". All that sun damage from younger years really show up as you get older. SPF people!
Girl im with ya on staying out of the sun and definitely out of the tanning beds!! Im white as paper! And I always win the "Who's the whitest?" contests. But I don't care cuz I want wrinkle free skin as long as possible! Im 31 now and most ppl think im waaay younger.
I have terrible skin. One week it clears up and i feel like my battle with acne is over, the next week i have 5 new pimples. argh!!! I'm using like cetaphil cleanser with clinique skim anti blemish moisturiser.
Getting sun is actually good for you...not to the point of being burned, yes always use sunscreen but you also get good benefits from being in the sun for a while.
Great info, Angie! Plus all the internal things you mention are not only good for the skin, but also for overall good health & wellness. Great video all the way around, thanks!
Me and my little sister adore you. We have watched all your videos, and any advice you give us, we take to heart, not just consideration. I am a aspiring makeup artist, and I am so glad you made this video. I have to go buy the products you recommended, just because I trust your judgement. We love you Goldeh, continue making videos, and we'll continue to watch :3
For me when I wake up in the morning, I have to wash my face because I've been drooling all over myself. YUCK. Then in the evening, I have to wash off all the makeup. Twice a day washings = necessary!
Yessss! I requested this on Facebook. :DD You gave some really awesome tips. I love how you mentioned vitamins, sleep & genetics. Its so important to realize that everyone has different kinds of skin & need different treatments for their specific kind of skin. Really great vid, its going in my favorites. <33
Yes too much sun certainly is bad for your skin, however never seeing the sun is bad for your health too! You need uv rays on your skin every day to make vitamin D... So don't hole up in a cave either ;) Stay out of mid-day (summer) sun though. And wear sunscreen!
I personally hate drinking water and the lack of taste of it but I think I'm going to start bringing flavor packs and a water bottle to my college with me so that I can drink it more and start having better skin and health. It's great too because in the art wing (where I spend 99% of my college life) we have this new water fountain/water bottle fill station that is amazing lol.
In a lot of exfoliation cremes and stuff are tiny plastic particles. Those make the scrub exfoliant, but they wash down the drain and into the sea, because it doesn't get filtered out properly. Then fish, whales and other animals think it's plankton, and they eat it. This kills so many animals, so I want to call out to everyone! Please check if your scrub contains 'polyethyleen' or any plastic (you can contact the manufacturer), and stop using it!! Use organic stuff, like Lush or Body shop.
@sweetkoekje except natural made exfoliants like sugars, crushed walnut shells, crushed apricot pits etc. are actually very harmful to the skin. They cause microscopic lacerations to the skin causing damage. These particles are jagged and scratch and tear the skin. This is why they made man made spheres in a lot of the exfoliants and scrubs today, they may not be the best for the environment but they are better for the skin, they glide and slough off dead skin without causing harm to the skin.
@Makeupbybri I didn't know that. But I'm not sure about salt and sugar, since they are tiny cube like particles (at least salt, since it's molecular structure is like a cube). A cube doesn't seem able to jag the skin like you said, but that's what I think.
I'm not sure what's better for your skin, but I'm very sure that natural ingredients are better for the environment, and that's what we have to save in my opinion, or at least lessen the amount of waste.
@sweetkoekje Wow!! Ihad NO idea. Thanks for bringing this up to people's attention because this is really bad, along with many other things we dump down the drain=(
@sweetkoekje Too true! U can use a brush, a facecloth or piece of muslin cloth, u can blend enzyme rich fruits into a paste, oatmeal, baking soda aka Sodium bicarbonate in a paste (Rae Morris mixes it with cetaphil cleanser) - all are inexpensive and work.
@sweetkoekje Lush actually, despite having "organic" ingredients, has a lot of things known to irritate skin, which can, over time, do more bad than good. Beautypedia is a great source for the science behind various products.
@sweetkoekje @kitkat8871 ewg dot com/skindeep is another good site to check on what chemicals/ingredients are in products used out there. They also list certain hazards or harms to the body by scales of 0-10, 10 being the most dangerous.
i just love your voice and i don't want to sound creepy or something haha but it makes me relax ;) <3 i need to try the clarasonic, i tried the sigma cleansing tool and it felt like a punishment every single time it touched my face :(
I totally agree on the eye creams. I've spent tons trying to find an eye cream that does what it says. They never do. Also, I use that Clinique moisturizer. I love mixing it with just a drop of foundation for a very sheer makeup foundation that lightly evens out my skin tone. My normal makeup routine for the every day is that tinted moisturizer, blush, mascara, and a bit of lip gloss.
I love you! I think your videos are so great and thank you for telling people to stay out of the sun! I am 31 and have had skin cancer on my face- I had to have it cut out! It is because of all the time out in the sun without sunscreen when I was younger. Now I have to stay out of the sun and I wear sunscreen all the time. Its important and THANK YOU for getting the word out there!
I haven't gotten to the chemical exfoliatant part of my class yet, but I do know that most chemical ones you should use with in 1-2 days before you are going out.
@TenaciousBri666 She seriously says that to you? What a horrible thing to say! Wow, she should be ashamed. I think skin that is very obviously fake tanned just sends out an overall "I'm very fake!" vibe. Paler skin is beautiful because it's natural and isn't fake.
@TenaciousBri666 Hey, being pale means less exposure to UVA/UVB rays! And they're the major cause of aging, so pale girls like us? We'll still look hot and young when all those tanning bed fiends are wrinkled!
@TenaciousBri666 when ppl point out how pale I am say thanks, I love that it seems to confuse them! :) Even if I didn't think that health, self esteem and happiness are the best beauty regime, I am not interested in giving myself cancer and don't want to look like l have been rubbing gravy browning on myself.
@TenaciousBri666 Mother in laws suck don't they. sometimes they just don't know when to stop. I say love whatever you have and work with it. Whether you have that beautiful porcelain skin or a beautiful Mediterranean golden olive or a beautiful chocolate. Love what you have and work with it.
Great tips! And you're so right about all these expensive "eye creams" they are a total waist of money - all you need to do around your eye area is moisturize well with a very hydrating facial moisturizer.
Finally someone on Youtube who will actually tell you to stay out of the sun! ._. Sunscreen can only do so much and people think that makes it okay to spend all day in the bright sun. No. Just don't. Get a cute parasol xD
I am sososos pale... the reason why i DONT tan is because i got 3rd degree burns and water bubbles on my skin when i was about 11 and it was SO painful... I just swore to myself that when ever i went out to the community pool to swim i would slather myself in sunscreen and never get burned.. however i did burn last summer it did hurt pretty bad but not as bad as when i burned so badly... take care of your skin guys.. :D
