Please elaborate on "grandfathered in fans that follow them around". It is ridiculous to say Guster has gone corporate, just because they are no longer associated with the bongo-playing-jam-band-acoustic-hippyish genre doesn't mean they are no longer original, nor does it mean that they've abandoned the roots that put them there. Just because something isn't appealing to you doesn't make it less legit.
to smotoR, Guster changed/grew thru Lost and Gone - I'm not against change. I am against them having grandfathered-in fans that follow them around. They've lost their acoustic feel, they've gone corporate - thats all i'm saying.
Lost their feel? Try seeing them live and unplugged! Guster has grown a lot since their early days; lyrics, instrumentation, vocals, everything has matured and become so much more in-depth than before. You can see their change in each album, especially if you listen to them in chronological order - and they just get more talented and talented. The addition of Joe helped them grow a lot - now their music is much more varied and delightfully complicated. Just compare Satellite to, say, Mona Lisa.
The sad thing is, that if you give their older stuff a chance, you'll be disgusted with their new stuff. I loved you guster. Sorry guys, but it's true - please return to your roots, brian - get back on your bongos man! Sorry "Joe" but it's a 3man gig. Go home
I was on a routine drive to Safeway (grocery store) to get some basic provions, and this song came on the radio. It was yet another favorite I instantly liked, and I have still not changed my mind...just like when I first saw All About Eve, Sunset Blvd. and Th Best Years of Our Lives...the first time I saw these films and heard these songs...I was hooked on something extraordinary.
OK, I'm the kind of person who reads people right off the bat, snd I get "certain vibes" off of people you ask me to "read," and when I got this request to "read" this band, I got one projection: This band WILL succeed.
How did you upload the song? Youtube won't let me use it in a ski video.

Guster has been my favorite band since Goldfly. This video, surprisingly, made me proud. Great job. Keep it up.

And they have been around since 92? Is it because commercialism comes before talent?

And they have been around since 1992, and I just heard about them yesterday? Good stuff.
