  • While i am not exactly a fan of VOSA...i do believe if they didnt actually exist our roads would be cluttered with unroadworthy vehicles and very tired drivers. The drivers hours rules actually protect the drivers from these employers that want u to work morning til night !!

  • I absolutely agree Alanadm. Blue lights are compulsory to everyone. Amber mean nothing - especially if you're driving witrh a high value or ADR load. Personally I'd have kept on driving and let VOSA substantiate their reason for stopping me in the presence of the traffic plods.

  • @vickozoomba

vosa now have a legal right, to pull over any vehicle on uk. roads and can issue fixed penalty notices.

so by all means keep on driving. plus this looks like a training video so the vehicle is going to stop

  • These lot do indeed have the power to pull you over. if you refuse to stop they just get the proper police involved. still, you got a better chance of not being pulled than in the states where by law you HAVE to stop at check points

  • Love the music

  • A very important job being done to keep our roads as safe as possible

  • I drove a banger transit for a scotland wide forestry job and got pulled by them all the time. There were cops, vosa, customs and excise, all sorts. i said to them they have more people than you would have on a murder scene, and they agreed.

  • All the boys about the road safety. Its said that a tired driver is in the same category as a drunk driver.Im not going to argue with this finding as I have driven tired but not drunk. If its true & its so dangerous why are there no tachos in cars police vehicles urban buses LGVs & so on & so on.They can cure the whole thing tomorrow want us to run legal make it pay.Vosa we are learning & eventually we will do our thing again.

  • Fuck them keep going......... thieves thats what they are!! money thats all they want is your money!!!!

  • All trucks should be fitted with missile launchers.

  • I think it's best when VOSA work with the police in a joint operation. They're always very successful at catching all the illegal drivers/criminals on our roads.

  • put maget on

  • Driving used to be a great job not any more to many jobsworths out to spoil the fun!

  • Sorry but i think its stupid they can pull us on amber lights, Anybody can buy and fit them legally. Pull you into a quiet layby and do you over. It should be blues and thats it.

  • @alanadm123 If you watch the video carefully, i.e. 1:39 - you will see that they are being taken to the official VOSA area for inspection.

This is where you know this is all legit.

  • @t1sutton Thing is I am a hgv driver and chat to hundreds of other drivers who are all in agreement that if they want to pull you they should use the motorway hobby bobbies. Its all well and good saying they take you to a vosa site, You don't know where your going until you get there so they could take you anywhere. its not like if they take you down a dead end you can make a quick escape in a artic. I have no objection to them catching people driving over hours ect just do it right and safely.

  • @alanadm123 You have raised some very valid points, thanks for sharing. :D

  • @t1sutton Thank you :)

  • @alanadm123 yes i totally agree with you on that, a very valid point indeed.

  • @alanadm123 i was parked in an industrial estate two weeks ago and two vosa mechanics pulled up in a 04 silver 4 door vauxhall, got the usual " i,m only doing my job", petty prohibition then removal on site of prohibition and then the please feel sorry for me because they are closing the bishopbriggs (glasgow) test site, another failed mechanic who couldnt cut it at the sharp end, there is a saying, "those who can, do. those who can,t, teach" change teach to "work for vosa" thats what you have.

  • @alanadm123 Blues or Ambers it doesn't matter I could go online right now and buy a full set of blue lights and high viz vehicle marking kit ... as a lorry driver I can refuse to stop as-long as you tell them "follow me to the nearest police station" if you think your safety is at risk... I have a laminated A4 sheet of paper that says "FOLLOW ME TO NEAREST POLICE STATION" works all the time.

  • @Michael1918 NICE MYTH

  • @Mickygemma high value and ADR loads require any authorities to identify them selves via ID cards or warrents they will know what your carrying if its a haz load as you have to display a trem card, a high value load such as bonded alcohol money ect all local forces are informed of your route driver details and reg of the vehicle and you will find they are tracked too, you do have to stop if you suspected foul play you can legally refuse to stop untill traffic police arrive no pandas traffic only

  • @TridentTrucking Not all ADR only high consequence ADR, Whats falls under high consequence I dont know but its anything that terrorists would want so signs are carried stating something like" this vehicle is carrying a high consequence load please follow me to the nearest police station where your identity can be confirmed". Trem cards are no longer used and have been replaced by writing in instruction

  • @Michael1918 Correct. Stick to your ADR training.

  • @alanadm123 do you by law have to follow them thought it was only police that had the power to preform a traffic stop or escort you to a vehicle inspection station

  • @alanadm123 well answer is if you suspect it not to be the authorities you can call the police and check if the vehicle trying to stop you is legit vosa wont hold that against you to check

  • Keep up the good work lads.

Iv been stopped by them, they are a credit to road saftey.

Mayby next time you get stopped have a chat with them I did

Ruts in the road's it's about over weights.

Shame they don't have more powers.

  • @958brian What a load of shite!!! i bet you kiss arse Brian

  • @958brian Bet YOU Bent Over for them and let the have a JOY Ride

  • ive been trying for 2 years to get an O licance they really make it so hard for a small company to do so and still waiting now they give an intrim licance so that you can get started for 6 months then when your work is up and the 6 months is over they refuse the application and now there is scaffold all over the london that they wont allow me to take back down complete bunch of assholes save your money and dont bother work for someone else its easyer there quick enough to take your money

  • vosa are a money maker it seems there are so loop holes that no matter what you do you are going to be wrong so they will get at leased 300 min of you

  • @cornishrob123 Yes they are but I think they are Good because they are the only tool against illegal operators. Personally I have been worked for Grange Transport aka MA Transport who are force people to drive for over 80 hours a week.... with only 1 days off a week where you just sleep all day. Even now they do the same, They have about 15 trucks and these trucks on UK and Irish road 24/7. No body stop them, at least VOSA hopefully will ban their operator licence some day.

  • @MrVatlex Yes my pal and whos the ones that work for 8.65 euros NOW 7.65 an hour not Padddy yous and Nolans drivers yous say YES boss i can do it i no i no i no when in fact yous will not let a cent or penny slip NO ONE can as you say FORCE people to DRIVE 80 YOU NO ITS WRONG Why do it ????

  • @cornishrob123 I reported a company I did a few days for recently to Vosa. I've seen dodgy stuff going on before but its very rare and these cowboys were putting everyone in danger. Drivers working 7 days a week and sometimes working over 20 hours a day. They also carried dangerous goods so for me was a no brainer. I cant understand why any UK driver would run bent unless they are self employed or getting huge wages but most are just thick yes men that can see theyre being walked all over

  • VOSA is more than targetting tired drivers. Maybe Sarah should attend a coroners court next time VOSA are prosecuting an Operator for dangerous condition when their driver couldn't be bothered to check his wheel nuts and the wheels come off and kill someone or drivers who claim the brakes fail but were simply driving too close. Who does she think checks the vehicles and gives evidence to say that was not the case? Would she decline the inspection and let them off if it happened to her family?

  • Tired drivers kill. You try telling the families who have lost loved ones because of it. Try telling them that its ok cause the driver was only "working as hard and long as they could". VOSA are only there to get the bad guys.Tired drivers are "out to make money" too, but it's easy and safe to do without breaking the law, just like most do! I'm sure if a "tired truck driver" smashed into you, or a family member, the first people to help you nail them would be VOSA (the pointless money makers)!!

  • Vosa are just out to make money, all this bull shit about making the roads safer its all lies. Its the only trade in the world were you can get done for working too hard!!

  • @sarah19766 I agree with you.The amount of bs I have had to put up with from these clowns is unreal. They talk about road safety. They should look at the ruts on the motorways which can be as dangerous as a tired driver. Its all about revenue!!

  • @mjintegrale Well said. Agree 100%

  • @sarah19766 It's probably one of the only trades in the world where you can hurt people if you work too hard, too
