I'm glad he has proved me wrong, his scouting report seemed too close to that of Mikkel Boedker, same size, same blazing speed, same amount of pts in junior except that Boedker isnt doing very well though so 'm glad Duchene is provi me wrong. Itsgreat to see him at the 20 goal mark already, and leading the NHL in rookie scoring with 42 points, I hope he has a Stee Stamkos like offensive explosion next season, He'll be the nex Parise but at a younger age.

When I was watching the draft I noticed at the beginning while hugging his dad it looked like he tells his dad "This was my dream.." I don't think it was to be drafted, because there was no question about that happening. It was most likely to be drafted by the AVS. I couldn't be happier for him because that kids dream came true!

in the 2008/2009 season Brampton finished with a 47-19-1-1 regular season record. 1st in the central division and 2nd in the eastern conference. In the playoffs Brampton would go all the way to the OHL Final before losing to Windsor in 5 games (all game highlights can be found on my channel)

This year Brampton so far is currently 14-17-6-3

Damn, I miss Matt in Brampton. What a player, he does it all. If you never saw him play before the Avs you missed some great times. The best part was that he never held onto the puck and got the glory for himself, he would always pass it if it seemed as though someone else had a better shot at scoring.

His performance in game 6 of the conference finals vs the Bulls sums it up, he had NYI owners and coaches there in person to see him, the season is on the line with a possible trip to the finals and he puts up a hat trick and gets us to the show

Duchene is amazing. Seriously, I knew nothing about this kid besides that the Avs drafted him 3rd. Then I saw him play on Thursday and his skating/speed/hands were amazing. Today he did it again. I know he hasn't scored yet, but watching him is one of the most exciting things.

hey id be careful with that statement..they have yet to win or even see the stanley cup playoffs. Sakic was an all star. you cant just throw him away like that. I know what your saying and in time yeah i could see it BUT these guys need a few more years :)

Im excited for Duchene but i dont wanna see him out there this year right away. He needs to develop the right way. One thing i think that ll end up hurting the Islanders is their rush to to get Tavares out there. We need to be patient. 1 or 2 bad seasons.

He may not get as many goals as Tavares overall But this guy brings so much more the table then Tavares like... Skating, 2 way hockey, multiple situations, sophisticated plays... I'd rather have Duchene. GO AVS!

It's more likely he'll stay in the OHL for another season, but yeah. It would be tremendous to see him, Hodgson, and Tavares in their first NHL seasons. Hopefully he's NHL ready and kills the NHL tryout.
