In another video that you guys did for the sedan wrx, you showed that you have to cut the factory carpet in order to be able to access the spare. This video for the wrx hatch does not show that nor do you say that in the video. Can you still access the spare after installing the enclosure or do you still have to cut the factory carpet underneath the enclosure to get to the spare?
@wutdadilyo The sedans actually have a trunk mat which we show can be cut but it doesn't actually have to be to access the spare, cutting it does make it a lot easier though.
The 08+ Impreza Hatch doesn't have a carpet mat but instead has a carpeted plastic trunk panel/false floor. It's all one piece but has 3-4 hinge/fold lines that allow it to bend and be taken out of the car to access the spare.
Once fully installed you can still lift the false floor at a 45 degree angle and access the spare tire, the floor does not need to be cut or fully removed to get at your spare.
@STI4Life06 All of our products are made here in the states using high quality materials and skilled labor, this comes at a much higher cost compared to most others oversea's production.
Our enclosures come with a 30 Day Money Back Guarantee and a Life Time Warranty on the enclosure's construction, which is pretty much unheard of for this type of product. 5+ years since the first ones started selling and not a single warranty replacement to date. ;)
@Audiointegrations I understand, I actually bought this for my 06 STI used and it is indeed VERY well constructed. Great product but, I still wouldn't pay full price ;)

@joker927 We use Cascade Audio sound dampening products, the enclosure bolts in securely, so it doesn't rattle between itself and the plastic of the car. The car itself may have rattles here and there, and you may have to single them out as to where they're coming from. As you can see from the post below, it looks like the spoiler is rattling on that car. There are a ton of choices for dampening, I woudl suggest browsing a forum or two to see what people are happy with.
This box is amazing. Over the weekend I put in a new deck, a JL500/1 Amp under the passenger seat, this box, and I put a JL W6 sub in there. It fit perfectly. PLENTY of bass for any genre of music. Nice tight response for the hits and a lot of boom for other tracks. I listen to DnB and Hip-hop for the most part. I have a 2010 STi and I need to look at fixing the rattle in my outside spoiler. Other than that, the car holds the sound extremely well.
@fammguyy202 Not sure if anyone replied yet... but the fill is best used for boxes that are too small or right at the minimum recommendation for internal space. It basically slows down the sound waves and mimics a larger box.
I like how your still able to access the spare tire! But i dislike how it covers the light. Is there any way to make a light attached to the box using the light it covers up? I work swing shift and i need that light..... Message me some info if you can make it happen!
We only make a driver's side enclosure for this model, the sides are different shapes and you wouldn't be able to access the spare if you had an enclosure on both sides
I think that Question has been answered... Part of the reason they didnt design an enclosure for the passenger side is so you could still get at the spare.... either way, its a good thing the designed run flat tires ;)
Most likely we won't be making a model for the other side - the trunk interior panels are not the same so keeping a symetrical look would be impossible, plus a enclosure on the passenger side would make getting to your spare tire impossible.
It doesn't take much to get good quality sound and output from one sub in this new hatch design. A decent 10 powered correctly will be able to keep up with a $800+ set of separates no problem.
its not impossible to make a perfectly matches pair of boxes for either side even if the panels are different. You guys either dont have the skill or are too lazy to work at it apparently.
Feel free to take a look at both sides, you'll clearly see that they are indeed different - the biggest issue is the lack of depth on the passenger side. If you made an enclosure to mirror the driver's side (in this vehicle) not only would you not have the proper airspace you wouldn't have the depth needed to load a subwoofer. The Driver's side has a lot more room for the subwoofer's magnet to fit while still keeping the enclosure slim and fairly shallow off the panel overall.
A passenger side version would have to protrude further into the cargo area just to fit the subwoofer, then take into account the proper airspace and you will not have identical left and right models.
Also a passenger side version will keep you from accessing the spare tire, unless you cut or modified the factory floor.
This version of the video was a quick one just to get the idea of how it was installed out there, we may make another with us talking you through the steps instead of the music playing in the background.
If you question was if we were going to actually play the subwoofer for the video then the answer is...no. You can't record low frequencies and post them over the internet without them just sounding like crap...you wouldn't be able to get an accurate idea of the actual sound quality or output by recording the sub and posting it here on youtube.
Thanks, this was a quick first draft kinda deal - we just released this enclosure and wanted to give some of our fisrt customers at least a quick video reference of the install. :)

What does Audio Integrations recommend in terms of materials and location for sound dampening around this area?

Are u ever going to make one for the other side?
Or is it even possible?
Cause I really want a second woofer for the other side.
Obsession with symetry.
And will u ever make another video, possibly with the sound system at work?

Some questions i would like to ask
I dont know anything about sound system so if my questions seem noobish im sorry.
Do u need an amp?
Can u install a second one on the other side?
Is the bass sound good?
kevinyun 3 years ago
Yes you need an amplifier to power any aftermarket subwoofer properly.
Currently we only make the driver's side enclosure for the 08 Subaru WRX/STi Hatch
The enclosure is extremely high quality and when used with a good subwoofer and powered properly you'll have excellent results
