I stayed at this hotel during Hurricane Alicia in 1983. I was in Galveston that week and it was virtually impossible to get off the island the last day. Like a naive fool, I didn't think a hurricane was that big a deal plus I knew Flagship was built to withstand hurricanes. It did. I wouldn't do it again, though.

oh my god...videos of galveston are so heartbreaking. We stay in the Flagship every summer.

Did you see Fish Tales? If so is it still in decent shape? That was my fav. restaurant to hang out at in Galveston :(
