The only Total War I still haven't tried, I like Medieval and Empire more. For those complaining about graphics...your loss. It's still a great game, and the best PC will always put out a much better graphics than any other console. And it's also backwards compatible in some way ;)

Because the multitude of replies and the fact my comment is a year old don't seem to be enough indication I probably know about Shogun 2, let me just verify: I'm well aware by now that they're making Shogun 2.

On a side note, people complaining about the graphics should really take a moment to consider the fact that this was made seven years before M2, so you're not doing much more than stating the obvious. By 'the best Total War game', he means in the balance and experience you got out of it.

I don't know about a Shogun 2. Having another Total War game set in Japan only seems a bit limited considering the geographical scope of the other games. What would be really cool wold be a game set in the 13th-16th century Asia with Japan, China, Mogolia, Siam etc.

I agree, this game was amazing. The downfall was you had to advance and conquer quickly. Especially if you started in the western islands like Kyushu. Because the east had better rice fields/economics. So for me (I like Shimazu for positioning), it was a battle of quality (my troops) versus their quantity. Quantity usually won, damn you Takeda!

ur vid description is wrong, rain DOES stop gunpowder units from firing their firearms in M2TW

When I play M2TW, the gunpowder units can fire in ANY weather, i.e. if it's pissing down (thunderstorm) or blizzard, etc.

I'm not sure if they corrected this problem in later patches, maybe when the original version of M2TW only has this problem? Not sure, but it takes the piss, especially when gunpowder units couldn't fire in strong rain + wind in Shogun and MTW.

I can't remember if I upgraded M2TW (patch) or not, I patched all the other total war games.
