The christian god cursed you with an inherantly evil nature (original sin) all because a couple 6000 years ago ate an apple. With it, he gave you a non-sensical doctrine like trinity, and to add fuel to the fire expects you to worship him or burn in Hell forever, regardless of how good a person you are. As PAul said; salvation is per faith not works. And what proof do you have of this; contradicting manuscripts of second/third hand information, that have been doctored/edited time and time again
Christianity makes no sense for those who study it deep enough. Scores of christian seminaries are producing scores of atheists and agnostics because once you study the religion, and apply a little logic, the religion falls apart. For isntance; trinity: God sends God to earth to die for our sins as apparently people couldn't repent on their own, or the seen where God wanders the earth for 40 days (taken from Horus myth) and is tempted by Satan, or where God is baptised by John the baptist...
...and God tells God that God is happy with God. I call that a mental personality disorder and refuse to believe God runs around proving to God how wonderful God is so that God will let God die to make all things better. Don't you find it the least bit suspecious that a Roman emperor, Constantine, commissioned religious leaders at the council of Nicea to produce a religion with such a common pagan them of a god comes from heaven and has a child that is a man-god (Hercules, Dionysus, Attis, etc)
Well said, Edge. Isn't it amazing, how we keep on thinking being a good person should win us something from INFINITE God? That's our sin nature talking, huh. :)
No wonder the atheist has such a hard time. No wonder we Christians mistake the issue as being about sin or being good, too. LOL we're all in this mess together!
[1] You are hitting on a hot Christian debate between Arminians like me and Calvinists. Essentially the Calvinist would say predestiny rules out free will and therefore whomever God chooses He chooses. Well then why even give the illusion of choice is that were the case? Even in the Garden...Adam and Eve "could have" not eaten the fruit.
[2] The Arminian reconcilles this seeming contradiction by reminding our brothers that God stands outside of time and space and sees the beginning & end at once. So while it would be VERY difficult to suprise God with our choices, it does not rule out Free Will. Conclusion...Christ died for everyone but not everyone will choose to accept Him.
4:45 = YES YES YES! Finally another person who gets that! haha

@koroigetsuga hey, I was wondering if we know how old the horus myth is compared to the gospel accounts?

Good series. Just curious if "Christ died for everyone", then what is your take on Ephesians 1:3-5.
