  • love John's voice in this song

  • OMG the dancing is Horrendous! OMG; it looks Like Night of the Living Dead meets Zombie at the Mall..LOL LOL

  • This ain't live folks, as were few performances of that era...

  • full on Lesbian XD

  • Dusty was in New Orleans and came to my frech quarter apartment party with her gal friend. What memories- alas all washed away by Katrina- that bitch!

  • Your teeth look so Evil oops Even. Busted John.

  • I love Paul's face after John says, 'Show me your scabs.'

  • In my opinion ... this era was "the Best of the Beatles !" early on ... very simple and harmonic beats ...

  • This video is about as close as we're gonna get to the holy grail !

  • wow.. dancing has come a long way since then..

  • @banbanchica -- In the 70s (disco era) dancing improved while pop music quality declined.

  • First time I've seen them faking (lip synching) it.

  • @juslookin3 I can't tell if they are or not? How can you?

  • @heyummrandommuch there're no mics )) LOL

  • @letmeinterrupt Hey.. they could be projecting...

  • @heyummrandommuch No microphones and it sounds exactly like the recording. Also, mixed perfectly. No question in my mind.

  • @heyummrandommuch

I think it's lip syncing because it's exactly like the recorded version.

  • @BigSleepyOx

I was thinking the same thing! I have read that no act ever sang live on Dick Clark's long running TV show "American Bandstand". Reportedly, all the performers lip synced on that program. In fact, with the inteview & the dancing teens, this video looks like its form a sort of Briitsh version of "Bandstand". Another thing I've read is that Dick Clark was able to get almost every big name is rock music for his show with TWO exceptions: Elvis Presley & The Beatles.

  • @JubalCalif -- Although that's generally true there was an exception. Jerry Lee Lewis performed live on AB rather than lip synch.

  • @WytZox1

Well, I was only going by what I read in an article once about the show. It stated that there were no live performances on the program. If the article was wrong, than so be it. Thank you for your input! Hope you have a wonderful weekend! :-)

  • @JubalCalif -- Yet although Elvis never appeared on AB, Elvis soundalike (and future C&W superstar) Conway Twitty did!

  • @WytZox1

Indeed he did! Many thanks for your input! Hope you have a fab & fantastic Friday! :-)

  • @JubalCalif Another artist who never appeared on American Bandstand was Rick Nelson. He had the TV series to promote his music.

  • what a wonderful video! sure brought back memories of my youth! i recently went on my vacation to England and visited Liverpool. What a great city! ..just loved it.. and loved visiting the places associated with the Beatles. Also the home of the great Cilla Black.

  • They were all just so freaking ADORABLE. GAH.

  • John doesnt quite get his 'Ahhhh' quite right at 1.00. Makes me so proud to be English and from the North...

  • omg, I can't watch any of their videos without grinning. They were the most adorable things in the universe, no wonder everyone went crazy when they saw them! The cuteness just permeates the room!

  • Look at his face 3:03 xD

  • "let me see your scabs" hahaha

  • paul always looks so happy lol..................

  • John's grin is the most splendid thing imaginable

  • oh please oh please oh please paul, please marry me

  • no mics. overdub the recording with screaming dubbed in.....old TV programs

  • Who ever claims to have invented the shuffle now is a dam liar...dude in the back behind Paul 0:26 was the innovator was the real deal.

  • john id twist as close to you as youd like :)

  • Thank you for posting this!

    --------Ellen

  • 'Let me see your scabs.'

  • I love those "star trek" haircuts!! :)

    Paul has the Spock hair.

John has the Kirk hair, Ringo has the Chekov hair and George has Bones McCoy doo!!!

  • @tstox awesome detective skills there bro :-) long live the beatles and trekkers!

  • you can tell that they just had a haircut(::

  • Sorry to burst bubbles (although to hear the old guard tell it, The Beatles DID have an amazing blend live), but this was probably pantomimed to a backing track. No mics on any vocalists, no cables on any guitars... =/

  • @levi7516 she looks she was quite recently beamed to that place from Romulus! :D

  • @ruddypunky lol

  • The girl next to Ringo is his wife Maureen...

  • to sound that great with instruments live back in those days. true talent.

  • sexual tension between john and dusty---probably not, since dusty was a lesbian. made her life quite hard a lot of times.

  • They have no idea whats going to happen to them... this is when they were just making a name ..........How wonderful...

  • As a teenager then, I never wanted to dance. Face it, most of these kids could be the dancing extras from a zombie film, if there were a music scene. It wasn't till I saw the black kids dance--THAT, I wanted to learn--and did. Not this way!

  • "Can you please ask Paul if he plucks his well shaped eyebrows" Ahaha! I love this interview and Paul is so adorable:)

  • p.s

the girl next to ringo at 5:21 looks bored out of her head

  • @levi7516

Yeah, she has to be the most sedate girl ever to be seen at a Beatles gig............

  • @levi7516 it's maureen starkey, his wife. LOL!

  • @levi7516 or stoned out of her head

  • @levi7516 That's Ringo;s first wife Moureen.

  • @levi7516 XD i know she's like, "where the hell am i?" if i was that close to Ringo god i would have fainted XD

  • @levi7516 Looks like the girl from the Ronettes, the cousin!

  • love john lennons voice <3and paul u cant forget pauls :)

  • love john lennons voice <3

  • from what I remember this was when dusty springfield introduced ready steady go one week.

  • Definitely, lipsyncing... they all did it!

  • That guy at 0:52 knew what he was doing! Lol, some nice moves you got their.

  • I don't think they are really singing it here. Their instruments are not plugged in so how could they be playing electric guitars. Impossible@

  • Beautiful Dusty... at 4:22 "we're going to sing She Loves You" Dusty responds to the question with a twinkle and a raised eyebrow... "she does? bye!"

  • @makwolven i never saw that, it's great :D

  • Ringo is killin those drums

  • When she mentioned "you were shot at" To John... My heart dropped, and realized he's no longer here :'C R.I.P.

  • No wonder the Beatles were so famous. They were such a departure from everything before them, even the clothing is amazing. Their style is timeless, sleek and fresh. A suit like that would even look great nowadays.

  • They were so young back then. This is before they became really big, so while the audience is excited, they aren't absolutely frenzied.

  • beautiful Dusty a lesbian, yeah right, look at the way looks a John at the end of chat!

  • wow, it's amazing how they didn't even need mics...or their guitars to be plugged in...

  • @JackTheHornsby You're being factious, right? LO! They were probably lipsinking.

  • that creepy girl at 5:20 - 5:29

  • Beatles owned conservative America :D

  • aaaw mi Georgeeee :DDDDDDDDDDD son ... se ven tan jovencitos mis vidoss *.* wiiiiiiii

  • la chica del minuto 5:20 no parece entender muy bien el lenguaje televisivo

the girl in 5:20 minutes does not seem to understand very well the language of television

hoy, todos esos muchachitos tienen 50 o 60 años

Today, all these boys are 50 or 60 years

  • if a George piece was removed, it may be because of the HBO doc. coming out in Oct. 2011.

  • John sang the wrong word at 5.55, :-)

  • George was interviewed by Dusty Springfield...it's just been removed and marked "private" on different sites. For those who saw the interview when briefly posted to YouTube, the phrase "Get a room," comes to mind.

  • @otterj6 do you know where to find that interview????

  • Sweet blue eyes of the prophets... still and again the saints and angels sing

  • Look at Paul's face when they say theyre gonna sing "She loves you" and when everybody starts screaming :)

  • PAUL. IS. SO. CUTE.

  • @909afterone JOHN. TOO.

  • Best band in the history of music. Lots have been compared but The Beatles will always be the greatest band of all time.

  • they look so happy its ace!!!

  • great stuff! THANKS!

  • I SAW THEM IN MELBOURNE 1964 I WAS 11 AND THEY WERE UNREAL

  • Were they lipsyncing or was this recorded and put on Past Masters?

  • @TalixVK This is the official release from PPM album

Last song recorded on their legendary 2/11/63 (morning, afternoon, evening sessions)

Ripped it in one take. John had a slight cold and his voice was getting hoarser as day progressed. He was sucking on cough drops all day.

  • It's a Rickenbacker 425 (Serial number BH439) that George bought in the USA in 1963 whilst visiting his sister.

  • pause at 0:56......THE First ROBOT

  • @gooddaysunshineyay Taylor Swift is a fan of The Beatles and also she's the only good artist of our generation and finally she NEVER uses auto-tuning ( but we do need more bands like The Beatles)

  • @graypaw83 - Taylor Swift is not the only good artist of our generation at all. I wouldn't even call her an artist.

  • Love love love :D -3

  • I want more GEORGE! :D

  • The original recording take of this song, John had a sore throat and it was a one-time take and that was it.... they recorded it in one take !

  • to see them live. ugh. why was i born in a crappy period.

  • @molly13bored this is the best period to be born at.

  • I can't understand how everyone is looking at Paul when George and john are standing right beside them ;)

  • i love how they go from doing little interview in the middle to rocking out to "she loves you" with out missing a beat. its like someone just pressed the play button somewhere. awesomeness.

  • I might be berated here but I honestly believe the Beatles were the beginning of the classless generation in music. They were often very disrespectful and patronising, aswell as basically making music just for money (as John once admitted). Sorry everyone.

  • hahah john "let me see your scab" so dirty but funny at least he is a gentlemen and apologizes lol

  • Dusty: "They're absolutely beautiful!"

Paul: *nods sheepishly* "Aww shu- Well, yeah yeah I know ;D"

  • Wow! Dusty and the Beatles. How does it get any better?

  • Thanks so much for uploading!

  • What did John mean by "let me see your scabs"?

  • That voice John Love!

  • john was such a dumbass. he never knew how to milk an interview.

  • @RJiminez51 ... what?

  • possibly my favourite thing in the world

  • I thought of it best quote ever

ps I hope paul gets his gracing reyhound

  • They were so Cuuuute! :D

  • OOOOHHHH..... She touch John's hair, IT'S NOT FAIR...!!! My lovely John, he's sooo cute and georgeus!

  • Dusty is just gorgeous here! This is just an awesome clip, thanks for posting it.

  • oh sweet memories

  • "jag ska oxå säga"

  • Comment removed

  • hahaha I never noticed Paul rolling his eyes at John's cheeky comment about seeing Dusty's scabs til now :)

  • God, I LOVE The Beatles!!!!

  • such a niave time!

  • There's alot of sexual tension between Springfield and The Beatles...

  • @golson567

She was really sweet and the boys were funny - great interview...:-)

  • @golson567 I doubt that - she was gay, you know....

  • @beatlesandbeyond exactly :) ty for saying it

  • @golson567 Yeah, they were big fans of Dusty

  • Beatles music - MORAISITO AMOR BIODEGRADÁVEL - the best

  • Im sooo glad I lived thru all this

  • John, Paul, George and Ringo are thinking all the way through: they're dancing like freakin' aliens! I mean... watch the guy at 0:28 behind paul..

  • 1963, pre-America. The Lads.

  • This is lovely!

  • at 1:53 it looked like paul was about to sayyyy f***!! hahahahhahah!

  • I don't like the fab four as much as I like the Lady Diana of POP DUSTY...

  • They're probably giggling a little at the idea of lip synching.

  • check out the girl at 5:20-5:24......I may have been stunned too...love it!....agent 99 providing security....

  • check out the girl at 5:20-5:24......I may have been stunned too...love it!

  • i would almost die off thrillness if they would stand next in my room right now, too that that will never happen. though i love them, the beatles, forever, and ever, and ever, and ever, and ever, and ever

  • Who were the 6 who voted down on this video?

  • @5thbeatle100

They were all done by Pete Best.

  • George is like a baby faced whore back then.

  • Comment removed

  • @ringodingo ; what do you mean by katy perry, if your talking about the american singer Katy Perry then thats obvi not her:L shes only in her 20's LOL. The girl doesnt look like shes singing along shes just standing there doing nothing. Didnt even crack a smile through out the whole clip.

  • Hahah

I don't know whats cuter, the beatles or the 60's people 60's dancing in the background! hahah, adorable!

  • @makeupcookie she can't help she's never seen a drum kit before

  • @makeupcookie what girl? You mean Katey Perry? Hey, at least she's singing along.

  • @makeupcookie i wouldnt say it sucks cuz we got that last good television shows ...omg t.v is almost pointless nowdays

  • @makeupcookie

I know what you mean... she looks quite dumb indeed...:-) I would at least be singing along and dancing it away... OMG what great times those were! And the Beatles singing and playing? Pure joy and energy... there's nothing better than them!
