  • I don't know why I hadn't come this one yet since I love it so much. Great visuals Symphony once again.

  • @triplettam Thank you!

  • This Fresh Panda brought me here. but this video dosent include the radio playing in the background in the beginning. thats needed. ahahha

  • greatest artist of all the times !

love her ...she can touch your heart just listen.............

  • I'm a fan of Kate's music but I find it odd that so many people from around the world say they like it too and like her, as she's actually a Wiccan and all her songs and song titles are depicting Wiccan rituals, in order.

    Hmmm... odd.

    Learning is fun, isn't it.

  • მაგარია!

  • Her music is timeless!

  • LMAO!! "choir parts"! I'd say it was Irish monks. Hahahaaa!

  • Normally, I would say that the choir parts are a distraction from the rest of the song, but Bush is able to make it all work so beautifully. This is one of her best without a doubt.

  • it`s so great, the last words in Grerman from Kate:" tiefer, tiefer ,Da gibt es noch ein Licht! (go to sleep leatle Earth). or are theese the words of the End?

  • If all the other musical artists on this planet are a HORSE AND CART, then KATE BUSH is a space craft, visiting us from a far away DISTANT planet, and thank GOD for that..........!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thanks for your effort ! I wish to add that in the 70s ,when the album "a kick inside" came otut , all of the boys in iraq were in love with Kate Bush too!So far is the reach of this outstanding british artist! If Nasa would someday repeat the voeger mission, they should put one of her songs on that golden record!

  • So beautiful.........

  • have you noticed the german words .. ? Tiefer, tiefer, irgendwo in der Tiefe gibt es ein Licht ... (deeper, deeper, anywhere in the deep there is a light)

  • brilliant song ;(

  • "Just look at it go ...... "

So many Kate Bush songs I have to ration myself for - just strike such a chord it disturbs me.

  • Bravo ,Kate! Excellent!

Bravo Richard Hickox Singers for singing Georgian Song " Tsintskaro"as if you were real Georgians! I am very proud that my native "Tsintskaro" is so organically merged with Kate" song!

  • The Ninth Wave of Hounds Of Love is my own personal best music. I grown up with it and nothing can beat this. It`s part of my life.

  • One of my VERY long list of favorites from Kate!

  • I just love this . Its a very powerful heart touching song. One of my favorites along with so many of her songs :)

  • tears in my eyes

  • these are amongst the best lines ever written - why isn't her birthday a national holiday?

  • Golliwogg APPROVES of this song.

  • 3:45 beautifull picture

  • Yay, it's lovely-3

  • subliminal advertising for tefal at the end. why kate why

  • @betsycoates Advertising for who? Tefal? What/who is it? I never heard of it really...so I guess you're advertising them now...lol. Just kidding. Seriously tho...I want to know what you mean. What end of what song? I must know!!! lol... Thanks :-)

  • @freeradt haha nothing. the whispered german stuff at the end :) (unfortunately the power of google means i now know what she's actually saying)

  • @freeradt also tefal manufacture a line of quality cookware unsurpassed in all aspects and representing true value for money for all consumers. call now and receive a fr

  • @katebushisagenius "The Sensual World " is a very good album in itself. But the whole album is just disapointing if you compare with her fantastic previous work. The title track, the Trio Bulgarka songs and "The Fog" (the half album ) are great. The others songs that are influenced by the dark athmosphere of "Experiment IV" ( a great song ) are disapointing and not from a great musical inspiration.("This Woman's Work" has a beautiful melody but conventional," Reaching out " is really bad )

  • A wonderful beautiful song. All the songs of the " Hounds of Love " album (a masterpiece) shows the stunning talents of Kate Bush as composer. But unhappily, that album was her last great work. "The Sensual World " is disappointing and " the Red Shoes " and "Aerial " are bad (even they have both some - few - good songs). And her last album " Director's Cut " is catastrophique : a real big mistake. So Kate bush, as great composer, is dead. And i am so sad.

  • Kate should have been as popular as the Beatles or the Stones. Even 'some' English (some that I had met years ago) shunned her & wanted me to play Lisa Stansfield...? I like Lisa but com' on?! There is absolutely no comparison!?! Kate was and is still way ahead of 'pop' music. Her genius was discovered by Dave Gilmore, I believe... So if HE saw her gift, those who didn't/couldn't appreciate her lack sophistication - that simple. Hello Earth is incredibly haunting & 1 of my favorites!

  • I appreciate your admiration for Kate but why do you say she should be as popular as the Beatles or Stones? She cannot be compared to them because they are an entirely different style from her and they helped to shape much of the future of music in the world, long before Kate even started writing. She was inspired by the Beatles in her early development long before she became famous and it's due to the likes of them we have so many good artists to enjoy now.

  • @marmit1972 Hi, I think Kate towers above thge easily forgotten insincerity of the artists you mention. this is art not fashion.

  • @legiteblogger fashion has nothing to do with what I am saying, the beatles and stones are not insincere or easily forgotten, john lennon dedicated his life to making this world a better place and paid the ultimate price. I've been a kate bush fan for 30 years and love her as much now as I did then but her art is on a different parallel from theirs and each should be admired for their individual merits.

  • Insanely beautiful song

  • Every time I try to get all deep and meaningful about Kate, I just end up thinking God what a beautiful song. Oh well.

  • This is one of my favorites from Hounds Of Love. It has always amazed me -- the emotion in Kate's voice, her ability to change her tone to convey different emotions. Her voice is so dynamic. I have listened to this album from start to finish so many times. I highly recommend everyone do the same.

  • Thanks,... Kate Bush in this "Hounds Of LOVE" album/CD it is the dawning of the 7th Angel leadin by mystery and enchanted love into then her Horrific Torment an Hell over comes it, kills the Beast... and Happy Ending for All.... After All, it is done... THE END and They ALL Lived Happily Ever After... her... with her... together, ONE - United LOVE

  • Beautiful song by Kate Bush and video is very good

  • ..i cry every time i listen to this.... amazing vid too..congrats to the creator..

  • Oh wow!....very sweet!...I would love to hold Kate in my arms as she sings to me with her lips to mine and our eyes so close..

  • Beautifully assembled video.

"Tsintskaro" is most haunting, and I first heard it in 1979 in the Werner Herzog remake of "Nosferatu, the Vampyr".

  • Also in Italy we have "our" Kate, is Alice, has collaborated with ex-Japan, Steve Jansen, Phil Manzanera, No man, Peter Hammil look for it on You tube! He had written a song to sing a duet with Kate, in 1990

  • She's like a goddess but far more beautiful and amazing

  • Just the one question... can't you put the WHOLE of "Seventh Wave" together in one video? For me this is one of those "epics" that define rock. Up there alongside Floyd's "Echoes", Yes' "Awaken", Genesis' "Supper's Ready", Van der Graaf Generator's "A Plague of Lighthouse Keepers". And now all we are left with is Lady Gaga and Simon F****** Cowell. Have computers reduced our attention spans to those of goldfish?? Bring back Prog Rock, I say!!!

  • Magical Music never leave the memory!!!....totally agree with TheQuietEye ;-).....great post& thank you.

  • From 1:08 on: This melody is in the movie "Nosferatu" with German actor Klaus Kinski!

  • @009firefox Exactly, Nosferatu by Werner Herzog ! Everyone should see this wonderful dreamy film !

  • @1480mathias I am so with you! It's a great composition great acting, actors who match with eachother and the roles they play, background sounds, facial expression and a wonderful quiet atmosphere. So much better than modern vampire movies. Klaus Kinski was made to play such roles. He was a truly great actor.

  • this is definitely my favourite kate bush song - very moving and powerful

  • Magical; just magical .....

  • Reminds me of being a teenager, playing d&d with the kids down the road. Living in the middle of nowhere, no tv, just a lot of weak pot. The quiet of a heavy snowfall...

  • Awesome music ,magic voice, makes me feel like in summer rain on green field

Thank God the official video has never been done ;)

  • I love it when she says "Go to sleep little earth"

  • me gusta. so powerful, first song i've heard from kate bush.

  • I loved this song the first time heard it back in the 80's....hearing it again in 2011 it is just as amazing and beautiful as the first time I heard it. Kate Bush, what a talent - the lyrics, the music, the creativity - all that is missing from much of today's artists.

  • @n2ativone the Album of 85, hounds of love?

  • @n2ativone I've recently started listening to Kate again after some years of not doing. It has to be said, Hounds of Love has just got better with time. I think it may be one of the finest albums ever recorded.

  • great images... this song is for all the survivors of the split atom ... xoxoxo

  • absolutely awesome

  • some fantastic pics on this song, source please?

  • A breathtakingly beautiful song and video! Didn´t know how wonderful Georgia is (reminds of Alaska!). The atmosphere captures you. Kate´s pleasant sadness...

I like the musical change of mood at 0:45...

The musical power and intuitive sensitivity of that woman, are always a miracle. Nothing compares to her voice. And man, she was also in the mid-80ies still ahead of her time: world music (Georgian folk integrated in modern pop) !!! Long before Sting does it.

  • Fantastisch *****

  • Love Kate, love The Ninth Wave! Fantastic :o)

  • Kate is unbelievably innovative and talented. I adore her. Thanks for posting.

  • Formidable. A Masterpiece.

  • ☮ Fantastic ☮

  • This song is not a song. It´s a religious experience. And I´m not even religious...:)

  • YES ... THE VOICES AT 1:07 IN THE SONG ...... THEY CONTINUE IN THE SUBCONCIOUS....

  • Yes ....X factor.... would Kate have joined then ? ;-)

  • Brilliant music. Choir parts remind me of Orthodox Christian church music.

Kate and Maria Callas look alike a lot, don't they? :) These divine voices seem to take the same shape...

  • @zkoyot it's not just some orthodox christian music, it's GEORGIAN FOLK MUSIC! big difference.

  • @zkoyot Yes "Tsintskaro" is Georgian song and Georgia is one of the oldest Christian Orthodox Countries in the world! "Tsintskaro" is a folk song that Georgians are very proud of!

  • love this girls music

  • i want to die

  • wow.

  • WHAT A FANTASTIC MUSIC MY GODDD SHE IS THE BEST FOR ALL TIME

  • Kate Bush like a singer with an angelic voice that very much. Thanks for the demonstration

  • WOW, Like really cosmic man.

  • the part starting at 1:07 makes me feel funny (in a positive way)

  • @mathildeww

I get that; the change at 1:48 makes me feel as if my heart drops....physically, not metaphorically. Wonderful music.

  • Kate Bush operates on my subconscious.

  • 8 people have no soul as of 19 Feb 2011. How anyone can dislike this sublime piece of art is beyond me. Kate's is such a rare talent, totally in tune with the universe.

  • @wimeysimey oh nonsense, i love kate's music and this song and album but other people have developed along different lines, do you want everyone to be clones?

  • Really have to admire the originality of her music. Would have been nice to have her as my girlfriend...

  • At 4:31 Jigsaws face in the snow covered mountain.

  • find thin on you tube and listen Hamlet Gonashvili - წინწყარო :)))

  • EMI has released a few collections of her videos, including The Single File, Hair of the Hound, The Whole Story, and The Sensual World, as well as an abridged concert video of her 1979 tour Live at Hammersmith Odeon.

  • On 2 December 2008, the DVD collection of the fourth season of Saturday Night Live including her performances was released. A three DVD set of The Secret Policeman's Balls benefit concerts that includes Bush's performance was released on 27 January 2009.

  • In late 2006, a DVD documentary titled Kate Bush Under Review was released by Sexy Intellectual, which included archival interviews with Bush, along with interviews with a selection of music historians and journalists (including Phil Sutcliffe, Nigel Williamson, and Morris Pert). The DVD also includes clips from several of Bush's music videos.

  • Several collections of Bush's music videos have been released on VHS, most notably The Single File, which contained videos predating the Hounds of Love album; Hair of the Hound, containing videos concerning that album; and The Whole Story, a career video overview released in conjunction with the 1986 compilation album of the same title.

  • Good god, Kate was the future of modern popular music ... and we didn't follow her ....

No wonder we have X Factor. We deserve the punishment.

  • @TheQuietEye I hear you, Quiet Eye, but here's the way I look at it: I don't like anything I hear on the radio or the TV or in movies these days. So I listen to things I DO like, such as this. It does take a bit more effort to actively avoid the offensive junk that's out there, but it is so worth it. So hang out with us here and enjoy Kate! :)

  • @TheQuietEye I was a 14 y/o metal head long hair punk who became an instant KB junkie around 82. I spent the next several years feeling like a rejected orphan of hers. No one I knew listened to her. She never toured the states (that I was aware of at the time). Like so many things in life, around the 90s, I stopped. Sad. Well, the future is here. I was amazed to find her so prevalent again. Let them have their mainstream. We have this.

  • @TheQuietEye Well said

  • no punishment needed friend, it's not your fault you never had much knowledge of her before, she's been around for many years and has good reason to keep herself out of the limelight and I admire her choices for that, integrity being one of them. You now know how brilliant she is and that is priceless, keep listening and enjoying :) BTW is X Factor really all that bad? lol, have to admit the prelims are a blast :)

  • @marmit1972 I just picked X Factor at random - I don't watch much live television, actually. My son is half of 'Alpines', recently signed to Polydor - he has been working on a career in music for the last ten years, and the idea that someone can suddenly just walk into the limelight is laughable. What I blame myself for is not supporting or following great artists like Kate ..... obviously we have lives to lead, but when they can give us so much .... Heads up! Watch: "Florence/What the water"

  • wow!

  • Magnificent video for an amazing song.

    x

  • Im watching this video every day since 6 weeks :-) it makes me such happy in a hard time.

  • ☮ Vraiment magnifique ☮

  • Such an haunting song and those are wonderful pictures..

  • "Tiefer, tiefer, irgendwo in der Tiefe gibt es ein Licht"

Zwiegespräch mit einem Deutschen Schäferhund ...

  • This song is so haunting. I know it's weird, but I usually listen to it when I go to bed, and by the time Kate whispers, "go to sleep, little Earth", I usually drift off into a dreamless sleep.

  • wow

  • @createrainbowz " unbelievable" lol

  • I am curious as to others think these lyrics mean? they are so profound and open to interpretation, to me it sounds like a Near Death Experience

fantastic song and great images btw!

  • When I am dying, taken to another plane, I will not see a white light; I will hear Kate's music as a guide

  • another sublime piece of music from the genius that is KT Bush

  • I love that you always include lyrics with the videos. Thank you!

  • This is an amazing song with amazing paintings!

  • cant belive.... she used georgian folk song.... once bregovic did the same. on images georgia, concretly my motherplace Kazbegi

  • @Symphonyofflowers - At 4:21, do you know where that image is from? It looks like Slieve League in Ireland, but I'm not sure. Can you confirm?

  • @Alan112573 No, that picture is from Georgia (the country). All the pictures from 4:00 to 4:40 are from Georgia.

  • @Symphonyofflowers Wow! I guess I need to visit Georgia sometime before I die. Beautiful!

  • @Symphonyofflowers all of the pictures from 5 minutes on were taken from the passenger window of my car.

  • Its great that you've discovered 'Kate' check out the CDs 'Sensual World' and 'The Red Shoes' if you can

  • this song opens up something inside so profoundly i cannot listen to it more then on special occasion when my soul needs a cleansing...i cry rivers every time...

  • Love the images, you've done Kate proud. Can't believe 'Hounds of Love' is 25 years old great sounds better than ever.

  • @clivestanley66 Thank you!

  • @clivestanley66 well i found 'hounds of love' in my parent's room 2 days ago... and i loved this song and the ninth wave... is so... emotional... i'm sixteen xD

  • @clivestanley66 Oops! Sorry, I voted you down my mistake! Don't take it personally, I was aiming to thumb you up! >_<

  • @sipodge No problem as long as you like Kate I don't mind

  • Hamlet Gonashvili "Tsinstkaro" <3

  • Beautiful song and those wonderful paintings by Herb Leonhard are outstanding!

  • I love that first picture! Can you please tell me where you got it?

  • Listen to the Theo Bleckmann version --live and amazing

  • Heya - I was just wondering if there's a dvd compilation of Kate Bush's music videos anywhere? It's been driving me nuts!

  • @Claire8819 No, unfortunately there are no official Kate Bush DVDs. There are bootleg DVDs, but no official ones.

  • @Symphonyofflowers I have a compilation of Kate Bush but it is on video sadly, not DVD.!

  • @Symphonyofflowers in America you can purchase The Whole Story DVD collection, as well as The Sensual World DVD. The Sensual World DVD only has about 4 or 5 of the songs. You can still get them on Bestbuy.com I believe. I am probably your biggest fan, absolutly adore your KB uploads

  • @Symphonyofflowers

There was an official VideoCD release though, which is only MPEG1 quality.

  • @Claire8819 If you still have a VHS machine there are videos available on Amazon

Kate Bush - The Whole Story [VHS] [1986]

Kate Bush - The Single File [VHS] [1983]

or try E-Bay I have both from when they were first released and they are amazing

  • @Claire8819 have a look at ioffer. It was vdriving me crazy, but i have a lot of great dvdsnof kate now.

  • @Claire8819 There's one that I know of, "And So Is Love" which has a bunch of Kate's videos and performances all cobbled together - including one of favourites "Violin". She did make a bunch of VHS collections, most of which are also available on Laserdisc, but they haven't been converted to DVD as of yet.

  • @Claire8819 you'll have to go to ioffer, there fake but good enough for now :)

  • Does she speak in German at the end?

  • @SlothCalledSid.The German words at the end of the song are not spoken by Kate, but by Gabi Zangerl,a friend of Kate.

  • @SlothCalledSid

She sais: Tiefer, tiefer, irgendwo in der Tiefe gibt es ein Licht. Means: Deeper, deeper, somewhere in the deep there is a light...

  • It's such a beautiful sentiment - looking down at the earth from above. Somewhere in my cellar I've got a tape recording of Kate talking to Radio 1 about the making of the album. She did use the choral pieces from Nosferatu, but wrote "words" that fit the song. She described the song without the choral pieces as having big gaping holes that she had no idea how to fill. It's just so beautiful - a lullaby to the earth, as she put it. Go to sleep, little Earth...

  • to Victor4506....I remember that Miami Vice episode and I believe it was Edward James Olmos (also acting in it) that directed. Very effective use of our Kate!!

  • As a small girl, I'd get so freaked out by the choir. LOL They used to scare the holy shit out of me. In fact, I was more afraid of this choir's sound than I was of Freddy Kruger, Jason, Michael Meyer, or the monsters from Hellraiser! I guess that's the power of music.

  • @SpankRamen2

I cant listen to this in the dark - its too terrifying!

  • most beatiful song ever made!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the male choir on this track is the same one used by werner hertzog on his nosferatu movie ( i think!) so creepy and sad. forget their name but love all the film references in her work. shes a super smart cookie and made much better music than alot of the gash rubbish her male conemporaries released at the time to much more aclaim. it s not fair i tell ya!

  • @joedgillis Yes, the choral section was inspired by "Nosferatu" but it wasn't sampled from the film. It was recorded by The Michael Hickox Singers especially for this song. And the song they are singing is based on the traditional Georgian folk song "Tsintskaro".

  • @Symphonyofflowers thanks for that info. i guessed the recording was made for this album alright . must checkout the Michael Hickox singers really beautiful. love that connection. there is a powell pressburger from the late forties called 'gone to earth 'to me it is total kate bush.Another big movie influence ( im guessing) worth checking out.

  • @Symphonyofflowers sorry meant to say a film by powell and pressburger. its really beautiful understated and kinda odd in the best way.. a bit like kate bush

  • @Symphonyofflowers Actually, they're called the Richard Hickox singers. :-)

  • @Symphonyofflowers : actually it was the Richard Hickox Singers, directed by Richard Hickox. He sadly passed away just about two years ago.

  • @MisssGradenko Yes, I know. For some reason I just got the name wrong. Now I have corrected it in the description of the video.

  • great artwork / images :)

  • It's is Georgian tradicional song.. Hamlet Gonashvili ''cincyaro''

  • Hounds of love is in my opinion the most sublime album of the 20th century. She has captured all our feelings in one place. love You Kate.

  • Hounds Of love is In my opinion the most sublime Album of the 20th century. She has captured all our hearts within these songs. love You Kate.

  • The song than sings the choir is Georgian folk song and nature pictures from 4-th min. is the nature and mountains of my country :)

    I'm proud that I am Georgian :)

  • Where did you get the picture at 12 secs from?

  • @RubyEllis1234 I found it at Last FM. I can send it to you if you want to.

  • kate bush is no1

  • In my humble opinion, 'Hounds of Love' was Kate's greatest album, and this song rated as the highpoint in it. Just my view.

  • SUBLIME GENIUS!!!

  • Love the images on this one....

  • Fantastic.

  • Possibly the most evocative piece of music I've ever have the privilege to listen to....

  • Such beautiful images. I love the original artwork of Kate - can't read the signature, unfortuately. Does anyone know who it is by? It's fantastic. xxx

  • @kbskylady The paintings of Kate are by Herb Leonhard.

  • beautiful uilieann pipes in this piece

  • This is a great video. Her voice is gorgeous and the visuals are excellent.

  • Beautiful...

  • God, I love kate almost as much as Joni - wait, what's the point of camparing apples and oranges? They are both singular geniuses

  • I'm glad she never realized the project of making a film for The Ninth Wave. The music says everything, and in her other songs where the music opens new vistas in the mind (Sat in Your Lap, the Dreaming) the accompanying video seems an unwelcome jolt back to reality. I prefer to be left with the music and my own dreams.

But these pictures a lovely, thank you.

  • This is THE best track on the Album... "Peek-a boo, little earth........... it's something bright travelling fast............ just look at it go...." so powerful yet haunting... Kate, you are a legend.... Where are you now???

  • evokes holst's neptune at the end. wonderful deep space music.

what i wouldn't give to go to a proper concert version with choir.

  • @misssarahlee1 There were no demos for the "Hounds Of Love" album. The whole album was recorded straight to the mastertape.
