I have a 325 wsm, it's an awesome caliber, I don't understand why people are saying that the 300 wsm isn't any good past 200 yards, put it this way, the 300 win mag is one of the greatest long range calibers of all time, the 300 wsm is pretty much the same in a short action, people are a bunch of idiots, good video by the way

(aka "King of Elk Rounds") which @200yds has energy values similar to a .30-06 @ MUZZLE!!!... AND... chucks a MONDO MEGA LIGHTS OUT 200-250gr projectile @ that 200yd zero! If so that's WAY COOL!!! I don't have the wallet nor the shoulder for that kinda shooting!!! That MONSTER comes in with recoil somewhere around two times that of a bolt .308... ouch.

Really? 300 rem ultra mag seems like overkill for deer at any distance. 300 wsm, imho is good for deer out to 500 yards.

@pray4theGay 300 WSM with a 180 gr bullet is moving 3013 fps (Nosler data) a 300 RUM is moving 3220 with the same bullet.. 300 WSM energy at 200 yards is 2650 ft lbs, 300 RUM is 3254 ft lbs.. to have a safe kill on a deer you need about 1200 ft lbs of energy.. so a 300 WSM is good for approx 730 yards, and a 300 RUM is good for about 900 yards.. (1200 ft lbs for each at that range)

@moehan410 You do realize if you know alittle bit about shooting that were you are shooting can change the sound like were this guy is shooting is open and flat so sound doesn't bounce off walls it keeps on going so that is the reason why it is less noisy
