wow that sound is haunting. I've heard coyotes a number of times in the methow but those wolf howls are far more spooky. They are beautiful creatures though.

@Opalca it is trust me , I work in the foothills of alberta and its super eerie to hear wolves howling around you when your working alone in a remote site. but it is a treat to be able to see them and hear them as i do :p

@bcham555 ohhh cool. i get what you mean, it sounds eerie, i would be quite scared to have the job you've got, especially with no comforting civilization near.

Well, i agree now with how eerie they can be and all, but what i meant by maybe is that if you knew they were 7 adorable wolf pups practicing to howl you really wouldnt be so scared if you hear something exactly like this, but i think adult wolf howls are more of symbols of proud healthy wolves living their normal lives.

@Opalca To be wolves scary? naaaaa! no risk at all! that is a good sign, they didn't hide so didn't hunting! They only case seen a wolf will attack people are rabbi infected! Even so, i prefer to be in a middle of a wolf pack in the middle of the night alone in the dark than be face to face to a grizzly bear! wolves see us like gremlins and won't even try to be close from people. Wild wolf shit a brick when they see people! But bear see us like a pick-nick box...
