  • Tim has steel finger...

  • Trumbone playing is rare and nice!!

  • Well Done

  • This song at the gorge for dmb caravan. changed my life.

  • I liked the kick into satellite at the end, wished it would have kept going.

  • Didn't they put poo to people??

  • \Tim is probably the best guitarist I've heard live...that includes Clapton, Lifeson, Mayer, Gilmour, Young, ect...

  • Tim Reynolds is a beast.

  • Beautiful Song

  • There's no such thing as the "best guitarist in the world", but Tim definitely plays from the soul. He plays what he feels.

  • this song just puts a whopping great smile on my face :)

  • @RhythmicThoughts Dreamgirl has a very African inspired Intro

  • this made my day.

  • With all due respect, I'd be happy never to hear another Tim Reynolds solo for the rest of my life. I like when he plays with the band, including Dave and Tim's acoustic performances, but don't care for his solo work. BUT, I love the band. Never seen a live band like them, and I've been listening to music for a long time now! Can't wait until 2012.

  • I wouldn't mind listenig to the rest of Satellite from this performance. It sounds pretty good from the last few minutes of listening to it.

  • @RockandMetal95 this whole show had a sparkly feel to it, many touches of the old magical 1995 DMB sound you can hear, with timmy guesting. this satellite is perfect example

  • @dmbandvids Tim is an amazing musician. i love hearing this version of the song and watching it. it's got an amazing feel to it, especially the solo. my friend even nicknamed me "The Proudest Monkey" because her family is in love with Dave Matthews. and i guess the song reminded her of me somehow :p

  • which show is this? great solos by tim and rashawn!

  • BEAUTIFUL...

  • love this song

  • the only thing that beats a timmy solo on proudest monkey is a roi solo

  • big ups to dmb and tim reynolds. thats big rashawn ross. nice playing. looks like bob sapp playing trumpet lol

  • This is an amazing song

  • the best version of this song I've seen here! I LOVE IT!!!

  • went to the city, car horns conners and the gritty, now I am the proudest monkey you've ever seen, monkey see monkey do yeah..

then came the day, staring at myself, just then to question me.. i wonder do i want the simple simple life ...i once lived... things they were so quiet then, in a way they were my better days... and now I am the proudest monkey, you've ever seen....

  • i like red rocks the best

  • so glad i got to hear roi rip this up at spac

  • fuckkkk i want the rest of sattelite

  • i like the commentary

  • damn this band is like from a dream, from music arrangement to the strangest lyrics and to dave's cool and vague voice,it all adds up to a sweetdream.

  • very nice :-)

  • incredible work by tim. holy shit

  • straight up eargasm!

  • alpine 09' first time dave has opened up with proudest monkey in over a decade. great feeling, nevertheless, transitioning into satellite like this version. amazing

  • @eclipsestudd26 was that the second night? i thought they opened with funny the way it is the first night? could be wrong though, i was pretty drunk

  • Hates Timmy! LOL

  • i LOVE this song...... as well as the entire dave matthews band discography

  • Amazing what you can create with just one chord

  • ahahaha Carter's open fill in this song in amazing!

  • wheres the next part

  • Greeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaat Guiiiitar Solo !!!!!

  • Dave u rock men, thank you for existing :) Yey! \o/

  • Love this song only thing i see wroung is the trumpit player missed his calling not that he can blow a grate horn but he cou;de have made millions in the NFL he coulde save a team 2 roster spots put pads on that man and he coulde play center and both guards spots wou;de take the puther team 15 secounds just to run around him

  • this is unbelievable, great song, great band.... it's a good day to be in America.

  • I was there!!!!

  • I remember that night "Rothbury" lil Timmy Reynolds is da man on that geeetar

  • carter is such a bad ass drummer, there's nothing he can't do. love the cowbell sound

  • omg this is beautiful, never heard this version before :(

  • Boy,this song just gains momentum, and takes off...

  • i remember just sitting in my car, listening to this song high and falling asleep everynight of my adolescent years

  • Comment removed

  • I was on a road trip recently and couldn't seem to fall asleep in a cabin in beautiful Astoria, OR. So I turned on my iPod and went straight to this song, I woke up with a dead battery, but myself feeling revived.

  • Fortunate enough to see this song at Alpine Valley one of those 160 times...amazing. Where is this?

  • mile high music fest. just outside denver.

  • I'm pretty sure that this is at Rothbury. They're both really similar versions though.

  • did they place it on sun?

  • :')

  • This version is sick! Timmy is a beast!

  • This song is great chillin' music!

  • this song is song is soo hard to play on the guitar jesus

  • This song is probably Dave's easiest song to play on the guitar. I hope you aren't serious...

If you have rhythm you could pick up a guitar and play it right now.

  • It is very easy just to play on the guitar, but for some reason I find it really hard to sing and play this song at the same time

  • Maybe the best 10:19 seconds of music I've ever heard....

  • best DMB song from the best band around, BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG LOVE

then came the day.......... i wonder, do i want the simple simple life?

  • rashaun is the man

  • monkey see, monkey do, yahhhhh

  • my alltime favorite DMB song

  • Excellent version indeed. I loved Tim's solo in that. But to be honest, I wouldn't call it the BEST version I've heard. I'm quite partial to the version in The Gorge concert. LeRoi's solos are absolutely beautiful. Try out that version and see what you think...

  • love dave just watched his concert on fuse last nite he did a great job

  • Dave loves Monkeys.

  • Amazing vocal and guitar coordination 7:09 - 7:20. Just love this band.

  • damn dave

  • 7:18, he's a monkey! lol

  • at about 5:20 tim's hand just go crazy and everyone's ears get to benefit

  • i feel the most emotion around 6:05-6:13

  • Is Tim Reynolds a permanent member of the DMB? If not, I sure hope they consider it. Love his solo here...he is a fairly powerful guitarist yet he can also add so much emotion. A very good fit with this band!

  • Tim Reynolds plays all guitar (including daves parts) on DMB's first 3 studio albums as well as their latest album due out this year. He is not a permanent member, by choice. He will likely tour with the bend for the next couple years to help promote the new album.

  • hey, this is tim. stop fucking talking behind my back.

  • i was driving to monument valley from grand canyon

    n listening to this song

as a non native english speaker..i only got the words..proudest monkey

its nt place fr politics but ..just to show how a non white person feel..

with the outstanding natural beauty outside

i felt im the im the proudest monkey

  • Seeing this song live at Rothbury was probably one of the greatest times of my life!

  • I completely agree so long as you throw seeing cornbread on there as well

  • dose not sound the same with out leroi. rip leroi

  • Leroi died before his time and this changes face to a lot of DMB music, not saying for the worst. It is just not the same, Dave has my love still but man his music was my past and my past is what memories were. Summer of 1997 may have been the most highlighted moments of DMB

  • It's a dirge for Leroi

  • Cool! The new Taylor 914ce :)

  • Rashawn is one of the best things that has ever happened to this band.

  • i've never been of a fan of the rashawn ross addition - I just can't get into it. I feel as though it takes away from the sax/violin combination that subs for a horn section. It was such an interesting idea with a fresh sound. Although he and Coffin playing harmonies is very nice -- not into the solo though...

  • Why this does not have a million views?

Its food for the soul (maybe just mine)

    Thanks DMB

  • natural high!

  • Oh , yes! =)

  • One of my all-time favorites.

    AWESOME.

  • good trumpet solo by rashawn ross.... really smooth

  • hahaha his monkey sounds around 7:18 are awesome, and then i love stefans reaction right after it, he's just like yep ok just normal dave doin his scat thing

  • dave is the best

  • I've trained my dog to go nuts when she here's Tim make monkey sounds and now it now never fails she reacts every time I play this video and it's one of my favorites. Thanks for the upload! Really like it!!!!!

  • This gives you that feeling...only something this amazing can...you know?...(4:28)

  • People need to stop trying to rhythmically clap at concerts.

    Great song.

  • TWO MINUTES OF INCREDIBLE WORK ...dmb GIVES tIM A GREAT PLATFORM TO SHOWCASE HIS MAN ABILITIES AND TALLENTS...ALL UNDERSTATED SOOR COR CAP 2 LAZY TO REDO

  • smOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOth all the way through...make me was to spark somthin tasty and watch again

  • :) xXxXx

  • I immediatley thought of Jeff as a likely sub for LeRoi

  • this is so intense

  • RIP Leroi

  • By far the most creative way I've ever seen someone put 'monkey' sounds to music. Dave is a genius. "MONKEY SEE MONKEY DO". Dave, I'll try to (no, I will) march to the rhythm of my own drum rather than following the masses. Thanks for the boost!

  • red rocks is still just cuz leroi tore it up beautifully

  • Rothbury was AmAzInG!!!! Can't wait for next year and Dave Better Be there....miss U leRoi...RIP

  • Tim.......speaking......no other words needed to tribute our friend.. Simply amazing

  • Hmm Im not sure if this version is better than Redrocks, but it is definitely amazing.

  • Best Tour ever for Dave and the crew they totally out did themselves

  • Was that Rob and Big playing horns in the backround??

  • hahahaha

  • Try this. Type in &fmt=18 after teh web address, makes it in HD and stereo, your welcome!!

  • This is definitely the best version of Proudest Monkey I've ever heard! I'm so pissed I didn't go to Rothbury.

  • tru that rothbury is the SHIIITTTT best weekend ever

  • This is an excellent version of one of my favorite DMB songs. I'm glad they unleashed Tim for the final breakdown and let Rashawn do his little "muted" thing in the first solo section.

  • actually there's no mute. That a flugal horn.

  • My bad. You're right, Nate. Thanks for correcting me.

  • where can i get some mp3 files of this show... its dam amazing anyone know? if so message me thanks

  • wow tim ur a f'ing genious.... and dave ur the shit and prolly a bigger genious, im so pissed i culdnt make it to rothbury... does ne one kno were i can find a good quality of jimi thing at rothbury?

  • rashwan is fab on it adds such a jazzy feel to song

  • tim is not complimenting satelite very good good stuff on produest though

  • Daves voice has gotten alot better since last year.If you notice the chorus in sattelite he does the falsetto again.

  • where can you find the rest of this concert?

  • at iClips once they archive it.

  • by far the greatest weekend ever...bonnaroo is out...ROTHBURY IS THE SHIT!

  • thanks
