  • Hi Nina,

I've been looking for a deep conditioner. Do you think Karen Body beautiful would be a good fit? Currently I like using Shea Moiusture Coconut and Hibscus shampoo (smells so GOOD), but I can't seem to pin down a deep conditioner.

  • thanks, beautiful hair! btw: i love day 26!

  • 誰こいつー

    キモww

  • @shiz1246, yes straighteneing your hair with pressing irons can mess up yournatural curl pattern, it can actually train your hair to be straight

  • loving the different looks:)

  • Do you still have this same routine? Anything new? Thanks♥

  • These are a great combo, I mix my shea butter w/ coconut oil, I use afro detangler, eco styler, and the trader joes conditioner. My hair has never been so healthy!!

  • shoe around a few dogs..lol..girl, u gave me the *giggles* i'm trying the products u speak of (haven't bc-ed yet) but is that necessary can't i just grow it out first!

  • Happy new year. I follow part of your regimen and my hair thank you. Thanks

  • How do you know when your hair likes proteins (individually.). Does it make your hair soft or you just notice the strength? What is your results. Thanks

  • If it makes your hair hard or dry ( could actually break off your hair ) those are the signs that you are protein sensitive.

P.S. Sorry don't really know how to explain it if you aren't protein sensitive

  • Thanks I appreciate the info.

  • Your hair styles are very beautiful!! Be Blessed...

  • ur hairstyles r rlly cute

  • I love your hair, and your videos! You have a great positive personality. I will try out some of the products, and let you know how they do. thanks!

  • Is it alright for me to use permanent hair color on my natural hair?

  • It's alright to color your hair, but you have to take extra care of it; mainly making sure your hair is moisturized. Like any other chemicals the dye will weaken your hair some and you'll be more prone to damage. So as long as your hair is healthy beforehand and you take the effort to make sure it's cared for after, you should be good.

  • also deep condition

  • permanent colour is a chemical, you can use it on your hair but be warned it may dry it out and what i have noticed from colouring my natural hair the colour doesnt come out as well (saw your post decided to answer)

  • oh you may want to check out prettydimples vids she colours her hair

  • your hair is beautiful, i will try the detangler immediately and the eulence line. i can't wait until my transition is complete so i can see my hair pattern.

  • I absoluetly love your hairstyles, you've inspired me to go natural just so I can try them out :P

  • Lol I love your accent!! Thanx 4 posting

  • Your twist are cute. How do you put them twist in your hair? Please let me know.

  • I'm a huge fan of Karen's Body Beautiful (her hair creme in Coco Lime is my ultimate FAVS), and if you don't know already -- I noticed in another one of your videos that you mentioned you were a soror of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. -- she's a soror! We help each other, don't we? ;-) Keep doing what you do! You're doing a fantastic job on these videos; you've given me some great tips.

  • I was wondering do you still use the afro detangler ?

  • U R REAL FUNNY! SUPPORT YOUR CURL!

  • Your twists are too cute! Thanks for all the tips!! I'm definitely a product junkie, lol and I don't need anything else right now;however, I'm taking note of some of those products for future reference!! :) I also love Karen's body Beautiful (i've tried the hair milk, hair cream & the butter!!!) Love it!! Peace and continued success!!! Nappturals 4 life!! :)

  • I am thinking of going natural and I think your hair is soooo beautiful, long, and thick. I absolutely love your hair. If i knew my hair can look like yours if I go natural I would have went a long time ago.

  • u are a very pretty lady... u single?

  • The Karen's Egyptian Musk hair butter is the BOMB!!!! I Love the smell.

  • I also use curl activator....it is the best thing when I don't want to bother with my hair...

  • Thanks for the encouragement...I am starting my journey. My last relaxer was June 3, 2009 and I am very serious about being finished with chemicals. Your videos have both helped and inspired me...thanks again.

  • I use activator gel also. It seems to be better for my hair vs gel...that brown protein gel makes my hair crispy and dry..but the activator gel gives it a shine and doesn't get hard.

  • Karen's Body Beautiful products are wonderful and very moisturizing!!

  • Great video! I am on the short bus when it comes to my natural hair. I need to know the steps first second and third. Like untwist, add the moisture, add the oil etc. Please help.

  • What is the scent of the body butter you use that'll have me shooin away the bees, dogs, and men? Lol

  • i love your hair! im in love with it! can you do tutorials on how to take care of it. How u go about untangling...some of those reall really cute hair style you wear??? omgosh love the hair

  • Have you tried the essential oil mix (home remedy) ? It consists of a carrier oil ( jojoba, olive, castor) and 4- - 6 other essential oils like rosemary, peppermint, cedarwood, lavender, tea tree, etc. Its recommended that you put it on the scalp and massage it in and it helps stimulate growth.

  • Are u still using the Afro Detangler? How long have u been using this product? I really want this product. But I'm scared about spending $50. Please respond A.S.A.P

  • You're not alone. I use activator gel too! It keeps my hair pretty moisturized

  • how do u twist your hair so evenly and presentably?

  • I hope someday you'll tell us how you care for your skin! It's beautiul!

  • I just went to KarensBody Beautiful and bought some things and i hope they work i just went natural as of last night and i'm in need of some great products. thanks for the recommendations.

  • are you serious? I so wanna go natural to but Im kinda scared lol. Im 20 and uhm..... lol natural is beautiful tho.

  • o and im also about the same size u were in and im tryna start loosing weight, but i get discouraged before i even get a gud start..

  • im thinkin about going natrual..i just put my last perm on about a month ago, but im kinda nervous because my hair is course...i dnt really know all the steps to going natural..could u give me some info

  • lmao.....I love how you say "Ya'll"!! You must be from the south like me!!!

  • I absolutely love your videos. I have one question, in your first couple of months of transitioning how did u style your hair?

  • yes!! this is a great ques. i'd like to know the answer as well

  • You are quite picturesque...:)

  • Where do you get the pump tops for the Karen's BB products?

  • OMG!! Your hair is Beautiful!!! Thanks for the video.

  • What is your opinion about Co-Washing? Do you ever just conditioner wash?

  • *LOL* You're funny. "You may have to shoo away a few bees. You may have to shoo away a few dogs." Love your energy. You have a new subscriber! My hair is really dry and I don't know why, so I will check out your product recommendations.

  • hey Nina you look g8t; I luv watching ur vids. They r motivational, and u r funny lol. Do u still use the afro detangler?

  • I couldn't find the butter on Karen' Body Beautiful website is it discontinued?

  • Lord and behold say it ain't so throwback w/Softee Curl Activator. Thanks to you and Luvufirst tip at Dollar Tree.

  • Love your video thank you!

  • I think I have that same Shea Butter at home. I paid like $5 for 8oz. at my beauty Supply store. Great moisturizer.

  • I love your hair, so thick and healthy

  • You are such an inspiration and your hair is so healthy, keep it coming.

  • Hello BBBD! I am a faithful subscriber and video watcher of your channels. I can't hlp but wonder how it is that you create such a nice ponytail/puff...? If time permits, would you mind creating a video to show exactly the products you use as you are doing one and the hair accessories used? If you have little time to create a video, I would really love a reply back with such details...

Thank you so much! God Bless :)

  • Agreed! i second this request.

  • were do u get the karen's body stuff 4rm can i get it from a hair store or perchase it on the website?

  • The store is in NY. If you don't live there you can go to the site. Just type in karens body beautiful in google.

  • yes you can purchase it on the website. that's what i did for the hair milk and i even got some sample body lotion with it and they smelled so divine!!!)

  • do you ever do any super clarifying techniques like apple cider vinegar rinses or baking soda masks? Just wondering if you EVER feel the need to do a special clarifying process with your regimen? (I'm looking for a process that doesn't need it, too)

  • I agree with the curl activator gel!

  • Send me karens the information about your hair products. girl am so scared but i hope i have your full support !!!!!!!!!!! you are such i postive person girl!

  • where can i find these products?

    online?

    stores?

  • also, what moisturizer do you rccomend?

everything i use doesn't fully noisturize my hair....

  • She lists them in the description box

  • 0:14 hairstyle is super cute

  • Hi...what products do you use to flatten your hair for your ponytail/updo styles?

  • I must say that I love your hair! Soooo beautiful! I might be kinda biased though because it is alot like mine lol. Just keep representing us natural girls!

  • What is favorite KBB scent for hair products? Thxs

  • the activator gel works so well because of the high glycerin content. if you guys go back in the day when we wore curls (or jeri curls) you will find that our hair was much healthier than when we start relaxing. also the chemicals used in the jeri curls process are less harsh than with a relaxer. i think using activator weather you have a curl or natural hair is an excellent idea and i use it as well.

  • girl, bless you for turning me on to Karen'sbodybeautiful. I order the hair sample pack and I love them. I have the afro-detangler but it makes my hair shrivel up tight. I have about have more than have a bottle left. Does anyone want to buy?lol. I'll do anything to buy more KBB.

  • LOL, you might have to shoo away the bees and dogs... Girl you kill me!

  • I'm natural but I've been pressed for a few years, how do I achieve the afro look? It's as NOT as simple as it seems. I want a poof like yours.

  • If you press your hair for a long time, it is possible that your press is changing the natural curl pattern -- just like a perm. If your hair pattern is damaged, you cannot get your curl back

  • Oh my gosh in one of your pics I just saw the APA writing manual! That is currently on my floor too!

  • Gosh, your teeth are so PRETTY!! LOL

  • haha girl ur funny and i love ur lil accent u got goin on haha SUBSCRIBED ! You just made me think of a quote...

"Support your girl && Support the curl!" :D

  • dogs, dudes the same thing...lol

  • are you a AKA?

  • Hey girlfriend! I absolutely LOVE you for putting me on the conditioner/detangler from Growyourafrolong! My hair always gets split ends and I was wondering if you could recommend a product. Also, my hair is a little more fine so I have a can't twist my hair without putting pins or rubberbands in it or else they will unravel. Do you have any recommendations for a style at night? Thanks Love Muffin!! Keep doing your thing!

  • i was wondering the same thing...if i tried to twist my hair at night, there's no way it would stay, it would immediately start unraveling....but urs seems to stay put

  • are you in a sorority?????

  • important question: how do u braid and twist ur hair, i would really love to know cuz im on my independent status...lols please help me thank you!

  • Please tell me what you use to slick down your hair.

  • It is bery nice to see sistah's on herre with natural hairr. I've been natural since '95 and I do not miss the relaxers. My hairr has always been healthy but natural is much better for me. I don't use a lot of products in my hairr because I haven't found things that won't weigh it down and/or make it sticky. However, I think I will try the softee gel. Keep the hairr regimen vids coming. Love them!

    Peace~n~Blessings

  • You are too funny. "support your curl, do you"!! I love your videos!!

  • It really does feed from the air (activator gel) because it contain a humectant in it, glycerin. When the humidity is at least 60% your hair will draw moisture from the air secondary to the glycerin. Honey does the same. Activator gel is the bomb so I'm with you girlfriend!

  • lol...you are too cute.

  • Your hair looks so beautiful! I love the activator gels also...I use Smooth N' Shine b/c it has aloe and Vit E in it...great moisturizer for my hair...Nice Vid!

  • Ur RoCkin That Hair GuRL!!! Beautiful! and loving the Day 26 in the backround! Love that CD!!!lol

  • Do the karen's products have any preservatives or do they have a short shelf life or have to be refrigerated?

  • I wash my hair every two weeks too. It's really no big deal.

  • Thanks for always keeping us updated on your hair products, are you continuing to use the Afro Detangler Conditioner???? God bless.

  • You always make me laugh. I really hope I get through my transition!!!!

  • I'm going to try the coconut oil. I've never used it before but I've heard great things about it.

  • Girl your skin is just glowin! Just flawless. Can you do a Skin Care Regimen video if you have a regimen. Thanks!

    Stay Positive!

  • you are hilarious! when i first went natural i would use activator gel in my hair ALL the time...and my hair was well moisturized. I havent used it in a while...i actually had a bottle of activator and Scurl in my hands at walmart yesterday, but opted for the Scurl (essentially the same damn thing) love ure vids

  • Do you ever plan to flat iron your hair?

  • thank you so much for all of your info! I will try out trader joes conditioner and shampoos. Also, i will check out Karen's products and I am so going to get the SOFTEE: activator gel! yes I am!

  • Your hair is so beautiful keep up the good work. I just wanted to say that Karen's Body Beautiful products really are amazing. • trader joes' nourish spa balance moisturizing shampoo and conditioner are the bomb...and for $2.99 each?! psh! you can't beat it. :-)

  • " you might have to shoo away the bees or dogs..." love it.

Congrats on your overall wieghtloss. I just saw your before and after vid. That was truely inspirational. How did you remove the love of food out of your life?

  • i no u probably work out alot and ive been told that after working out...its good to wash the salts out of your hair.... do u not co wash after workin out or what do you do to keep your hair smellin good or what not after exercising

  • reminds me of the mixing of supplements after workout

  • Oh yeah i recently took my son to the Dollar Tree, heaven for a 9 year old allowance, lol, well i found Softee Curl Activator w/ aloe, i have always liked curl ctivator for my natural curl to trap moisture so i bought almost the lot,

  • A dollar = $1

    Girl, now that's a tip!

  • Hey Miss Lady great tips i sent you a message your videos re great i have stepped up my workout to 5 days a week 2 hours a day total, i feel my agility coming back this is week number three for the upgrade. I just went to trader joe's i will go again. bless to all check out my corny video for my final BC. Q: DO YOU LEAVE THE TWIST LOOSE FOR THE CURLEDPART ? so blessfrom Califrnia

  • I was natural for around 6 years two years ago but relaxed my hair as it was so thick and in the UK the products were not as good as they are now. Your ideas are gr8. Thinking of going natural again but now getting grays and not ready to be gray so any tips on types of dyes to use I currently use semi-permanents, let me know your thoughts. May go BC or grow out perm with braids like you did. You look good girl keep it up.

  • You should try Oyin Juices and Berries it has a lovely scent great for using as a daily spritz. You might also like Anita Grant the only thing is she's based overseas and the products take a min to get to you but they are definitely worth it!

  • thank you ...this is what I've been asking for - for like EVER!! thank you :)

  • now this is a beatiful black rose.

  • wow, my twin sister hair looks just about the same, she is getting tired of it and wants to dread it. She works out a lot and she is trying to figure out if to dread it.

  • I'm natural too. I can't figure out what to do with my skin. My face is always breaking out. How do you keep your skin so beautiful?

  • Funny as Hell!!! I just BCed yesterday and that curl activating gel had my curls poppin all day! Definitely a keeper

Is it okay to sleep with it in your hair or should I wash it out every night? I'm still learning about harmful chemicals in hair products.

  • Curl activator gels have a lot of the no- no's.

  • Really!? Which ones and what harm does it cause?

  • Some are cancer or organ damage causing. I'm not an expert, but I've just done some digging on my own.

thimerosol, isopropyl alcohol, mineral oil, petrolatum, polyethylene glycol (PEG), propylene glycol, sulfates, chlorine, diethanolamine (DEA), momoethanolamine (MEA), triethanolamine (TEA), fragrance, imidazolidinyl, urea, DMDM, hydantoin, parabens.

You know what, I'll try to make a vid giving the chemicals and the after affects.

  • Thank you! I would really appreciate that. I'm going to do some more digging myself also.

  • Loved the swoop bang with the puff...that was too cute!

  • Hey BBBD! Love your product info! What do you use for your facial care? I ask because I think that certain oil based products wreak havoc on my skin and I wonder how you avoid product affecting your complexion.

I was just wondering though...how much money would you say you spend per month on your hair care products? and if someone was to go out and spend like £100.00 (I live in the UK, but would order online) what haul would you recommend?

  • btw have you ever heard of Qhemet Biologics? Heard its the best natural hair product next to KBBB. Some people use it and KBBB and says they are the top two best products.

  • try almond oil instead of olive oil (from any indian mart and even at walmart). It has no smell! I hate the smell of almond oil

  • Love KBB, love Eco styling gel, love the activator gel, and definitely love coconut oil. Great vid. Your hair is just too gorgeous!

  • Btw, I love KBB (hair milk and hair cream) in cranberry cocktail (omg it smells soooo good) and vanilla latte.

  • Your hair is sooooo boss!!! I cannot wait til mine is like that. LoL it's kinda hard for me to twist it at its current length and it's not even short, I just cant do it myself. LoL I'm gonna try some of this stuff as soon as my products run out. I need to get of some stuff.

  • SHOE AWAY THE BEES AND THE DOGS!!!! HAHAHAHA I love your hair, keep it rocking girl.
