  • hi, are you use:

Celestron Omni XLT 120mm Refractor Telescope ?

  • I'm planning of buying the XLT 120, would you recommend it?

  • Hi!

I sold mine, not because its a bad scope, but it was a little too heavy for the CG4 mount. (Omni), and it produces a little too much chromatic aberration (false colour) for my taste. If you can come over a used Sky watcher ED100 or equal, i think that you will be more happy with that! But, as an allround scope the XLT 120, isnt a bad scope!

    Kind regards/Roger.

  • Go go OMC 140! Excellent post.

  • Hi!

I processed the images with registax V2.1, that is supplied with the Celestron Neximage camera.

I estimate the FOV equal to a 5 mm eyepiece.

I am about to do more photographing as soon as the weather conditions are getting better here in the middle of the Baltic sea!

I can´t wait ´til Saturn gains altitude, so I can try out that Neximage camera for real!

    Thanks for looking!

  • Do you use registax for processing the images?BTW,i was wondering about the fov of the neximage. Nice video.

  • Hi!

The real close ups are made with an Orion Optics OMC 140 mak, the other "sharp" images are made with a William optics Megrez 72 apo with two different barlows lenses, 1,5x and 2x.

The blurry ones are shot through a Celestron Omni 120 refractor.

It is hard to calculate the exact magnification, as this have neen shot with a ccd camera that will give the same "field of view" as an 5mm eyepiece... I guess the higher magnifications are equalent to about 300 times.

    Thanks for looking!

  • what type of telescope?? magnification??

    thanks
