Beckham is a marvelous player. BUT, this was a deserved (although unfortunate) red card. Was the kick a light one compared to others? Yes. But, a kick is a kick. Violent conduct is violent conduct, and violent conduct merits a red card.

However, props to David Beckham for not pulling the typical crap that players do when they are shown a red card. I respect Beckham very much; he had the respect and sense to accept his punishment and leave the field immediately.
