hes really not that great. don't get me wrong, hes better than I am, but hes not that incredible. If hes lucky hes in the top 1000 best out there. But that stupid solo at the begining was horrible. Anyone can do RLB RLB RLB RLB for 5 mins.

He started playing when he was 2. I doubt be was taking serious lessons that young, but I doubt that hurt his skills. He probably got more serious about it as he got older. One thing I know for sure is I'm making my kid(s) play instruments when they start developing motor skills. Drums might not be their thing but when they graduate high school and have 16 years of experience on guitar or bass or drums or whatever, they'll thank me. Probably won't be as good as LP though. =/
He also says in this video that he's going to be 29 soon, so by now he would be almost 30 years old and played for 28 years...because he's been playing since he was 2 years old!
He appears to be using a Power Center Reverse Dot snare head on the batter side and on Evan's website it says he uses a Hazy 300 on the resonant side.
If you don't think he is that good just go listen to how amazing he is with yellowcard. Some of the stuff he plays live is just insane.
