  • The original beagle was indeed a much smaller size dog than they are today. Their size was increased when these little dogs were becoming more popular to hunt on foot verses being carried in a saddlebag and these larger sized beagles are the dogs you see today. Please visit the oepbr.org website for more information.

  • Our dogs are not crossed with Jack Russel's or Dachshunds or any other breed. Unfortunately there are many people crossing beagles with other toy breeds to produce a smaller dog that can be sold for a higher price than standard sized beagles and they call them pocket beagles but these are not true pocket beagles. They are in fact registered "AS" Olde English Pocket Beagles with numerous "Pet Type" registries and this has a negative impact on our breed.

  • You are mistaken. These are NOT extinct. These are the only authentic Olde English Pocket Beagle and there are about a thousand registered with oepbr.org. We are a small group of breeders trying to bring this breed back from near extinction. You won't find them registered with AKC or any other registry and the oepb registry chooses not to affiliate with them. OEPB beagles were here long before AKC OR UKC just in extremely small numbers.

  • ''Pocket Beagles are sometimes advertised for sale but the bloodline for this variety is extinct, and, although the UK Kennel Club originally specified a standard for the Pocket Beagle in 1901, the variety is not now recognised by any Kennel Club.'' Crossed with a jack russell then?

  • I want a beagle.

  • my dog has that same hamburger dang there small and so adorable

  • CUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUTE.

  • My brother got my niece one of these puppies. He is so cute, his name is Harley. He doesnt' yap too much but he will when he's alone and eveyone else is in the other room. He's a jumper though, he'll jump onto a chair and then the table and eat your food. And he'll sneak into a room even though he knows he not supposed to. I wouldn't say he's territorial, he's just friendly but he chews on everything. Hope this helps :)

  • One of the best things about the Olde English Pocket Beagles is that they are not toyish at all. They do well with other breeds, are not territorial and love to play.

  • are these freaking adorable doggies in any way yappy? i love small dogs, but i CANT stand when they yap. Also, are they territorial? some smaller dogs feel they need to control every space, and that annoys me a little. if you could get back to me, that'd be great. :)

    i want oneee(:

  • i want one <3
