mine has flowtech afterburners and sound deeper then this but my camera cant pick up the lower pitches from the afterburners and makes the high pitch sounds sound louder then they are so the fuel injectors click real loud and it sounds like my engine is screwed but in person it sounds alot like a roush mustang and like 6 people say it sounds like the training day car from the movie but i dont hear that i jus hear how deep she is,,,,yours is nice man

if you want it to sound low, first off what kinda vehicle do you have, and then if you want the low deep sound then you will prolly want a 2.5 delta 40 2 chanmber in 2.5" or 3". just like the one on this crown vic.

Kahoa.....Dually has nothing to do with it, its because it has a Limited Slip Differential, which gives better control under hard acceleration, and in winter and wet weather.

my dif is fine. its the nature of the beast of you have lsd. they both spin but the one is faster. lsd was built to help with hard cornering so one tire could spin faster. helps with excess wheel spin.

Id believe so. Try using google and look up the differences between the 2 engines. If its something simple like replace exhuast or headers, then go for it. Sometimes its minor tweeks.

Its a 4.6L SOHC V8. Same Engine in Mustang and Crown Vic, Lincoln Town Car, and Mercury marauder. Good engine. Very reliable. But I'd put 06 Lincoln's LS 3.9L DOHC V8 up against the 4.6 anyday. 280 BHP ;)

Speaking of Mustangs, what I'm trying to figure out is how Ford got 260 hp out of the same engine that the Vic has, whereas the 2003 CVPI has 21 hp less. If it's just a tuning thing, then can I get the Mustang tune on my '03?

Newer (heavier) CVPI's have had problems with the driveshafts snapping. Ford can't spend the money to put in better driveshafts since the platform is so old. It's a pity, I'd love to see a 300+ BHP Interceptor based on the Vic.

It's a pity, too, because they definitely had a chance to totally build something better than the king of police cars, the Chevy 9C1. I always thought prior to getting my CVPI that the Police Interceptor had the DOHC and the civilian Vic had the SOHC.

sounds like a mustang because mustangs and crown vics have the exact same engine. in 2003(i think it was then) they even started putting the P.I. heads on the police crown vics, so its the EXACT SAME DRIVETRAIN

going from stock 2" piping to 2.5", you loose alot of low end torque.

actually the stock pipes were 2.25", so i didn't lose as much as i would have. the only differences i have found is the increase in gas mileage by 2-4 mpg and the amazing sound.
