Try going to your top right corner and look for my account. Click that then again top right corner look for "my videos" click that then you should have a list of your videos. On the right of each is "edit video, remix video, and make icon" click icon

Mine doesn't show the three choices underneath the icon, Where one of them should say "Make Profile Icon". I'm pretty sure I followed it right.

Hi, I tried this about 100 times now, and get all the way to uploading the picture, but that last option does not show up for me, I only have "delete video" and not make it profile picture. Perhaps they changed the format for uploading? Thanks anyway.

ok smart ass... how do you select the thumbnail that appears on your video? the one youtube selects is from the middle of the vid... any better ideas?

jfierro: well the only way you can select the exact thumbnail is to trim your video clip until the middle is the frame(s) you want. Either that or hold very still.

Way to take some initiative IronVox. I use a mac and have final cut pro (just no camera yet!), but others may not have that luxury. Mayhaps you could compile a list of more video editing programs that mac and windows users have access to (including costs, ease of use). I'm sure there are a lot of people who watch youtube that have no idea where to start when it comes to editing. You da man!

Hey, check out the Camtasia software for capturing video from the Windows desktop. I think your tutorial is awesome, but it would REALLY be great with Camtasia.

Yeah its an obvious thing that you dont get your head around, it needs some kind of user friendly info like yours, you do it with Real Style, like you really show the way. Maybe youtube could have a collection of tutorial vids all in one place, its own category? maybe they have?

Giving anoynmous YouTubers a face, eh? What a great idea, Vox. I'm always glad to put a face to a name when I read a comment.

Tell people to make sure to make the video long enough. One or two seconds will be rejected. And how's this? Upload three different kinds of "icon movies" so you have a choice and can have your profile icon reflect your mood for that day? I used to do that in my old newbie commentator days.

it took me two tryes. It seems that if you record just one second, it doesn't upload correct. so I finally made 10 seconds and it worked like a charm.
