i feel the show ending with a viewer interpretation "is" the twist...and it makes it so beautiful. that way the viewer can subjectively make the show their own...such a wonderful story.
@andrewmanford what is there to interpret? Everything that happened to them was clearly explained in the show. They are all dead, in limbo, and about to move on. What else is there?
@Toribot how is it that i "don't get it"? i said it's open to interpretation. which it is. if you don't believe me ask the creators of the show. they've said it a bunch of times. unless you know more about their show then they do?
@andrewmanford your stupidity is beyond reason. What is open for interpretation? Was the island real? Yes. Did they all eventually die? Yes. Did it show them in limbo? Yes. Are you fucking retarded to believe anything is open to interpretation when it was all clearly explained in the tv show? Yes. Fucking cocksucker lol.
@ethline what did they do (the ones that weren't shown dying), what was the light at the heart of the island (for that matter what WAS the island), where did they all go after the last scene into the light, was "mother" the smoke monster and the "protector", why were exactly those 360 people chosen by jacob, was m.i.b. always evil?....wow i think you need to re watch. i'm not trying to insult you...but seriously..if you can re watch "across the sea" with commentary on.
@andrewmanford LOL you need to re watch it. The smoke monster was the man in black. The man in black is Jacob's brother and wasn't always evil. Pretty sad you didn't know that. They never explained what the island is, which is bad writing. The light at the end of the tunnel is moving on past limbo. Everything that happened to the people on oceanic was clearly explained. Seriously, why so retarded? lol
Locke foreshadows this scene when he tells Jack, "I hope somebody does for you what you just did for me." I remembering tearing up this scene the night it aired. Very powerful that it was Christian, Jack's father, who helped him "remember" considering their rocky relationship. It also paralleled the notion of Jack's father guiding him to shelter in Season 1. Beautifully shot for sure.
at first I admit that I ignore this show during the days when people keep talking about it. but then I watched the first season, it got me hooked watching it and it just goes on. really wonderful, this was the only show that got me into tears. i'm currently watchiingit the second time now.
They ended this series so perfectly, we all still want answers but now its left up to us figure it out. Thank you LOST for helping me to release my emotions, your the only TV series to ever make me cry and I'm proud of it!
p.s i really hope everyone knows why it was so hard for jack to let go , it took the one man that was off that island that told him "your just not good at letting go" his father, not saying you have not realized im just, lending a helping hand i suppose.
ive been around long enough to know some of the most common comments are most likely to be realized, so i did one thing "remember" everyone deserves love and its one thing to be realized
i miss this show so much i couldve watched so many seasons more just LOVE the characters. they all did amazing in the show played their parts greatly! the composer created such moving music for all the right scenes, god i miss this show, it was GREAT
Mathew Fox's acting in The End was by far his best acting of the entire series! If he was like this in every episode of the show he would have been one of my favorite characters!
After seeing this scene with Jack for the first time when it aired I just let it all go so emotional Jack remember everything that he did for the other losties and the music is beautiful thats what makes a great ending thank you Lost..
@wildhorses1000 I would agree. everytime no matter what time of day or what I am doing the music and their spot on acting hits me like ton of bricks. Goodbye Lost
Anyone interested in the music used here just youtube search "Jumping Jack's Flash." There were actually 2 albums released, Lost: Final Season and Lost: The Last Episodes, both amazing.
I just love how much attention they repaid back to Season 1 - the best Lost ever had to offer in my opinion. The rest of the seasons are still brilliant but the first was the one that really focused on the characters the most. The huge amount of flashes back to Season 1 just shows how much it was focused on these character relationships. I always worried it would just go over down a deep, dark sci-fi hole but here it returns to its golden age - the time in our lives when we were all together.
thgis scene is shocking^^` remembering everithing^^ and when he`s talking to his dad^` and realize that they are all death^` that part made me WTF^^ WHY?? are they death^` dont understand that^^
