  • thank you so much!!!

  • Hey Ren, any thoughts on how to clean the stupid MAC brush roll? It's nylon inside so it is much more of a pain to clean! :P Any thoughts would be appreciated!

  • LOL- I WAS LOOKING FOR HOW TO CLEAN UP SMITH AND WESSON SIGMA HAND GUN CLEANING !!!!!

  • i just used a microfiber towel with water and it came right off

  • Thanks, helped me a lot - I was getting fed up of having a tatty brush roll! xx

  • Wouldnt the brush roll be kind of greassie after word?

  • Would the oil break down the synthetic material of the brush roll over time?

  • superb idea - thanks!!

  • great video you gave us a lot of ideas . i have 1 question instead of olive oil do you think baby oil will work the same??? i only ask cuz i have so much baby oil that my daughter dont use anymore i figure why not take advantage and trying to get rid of it well let me know thanx:)

  • What a great tip! Even if I don't have a brush roll, this would really help w/ anything that I have that's leather-like. :) Thanks!

  • thanks! this was a great help! i just try this, but instead of olive oil, pure vegetable oil works great on my sigma brush rol!! thanks!

  • I always use 70% rubbing alcohol on my make up brush roll and it takes the make up off completely then I follow up with brush off a make up remover that has an oil base

  • @Brindamallonee omg free advertising???????

  • Great tip. I always have issues getting lipstick and gloss off my brushes and was spending so much time and make up remover to get them really clean. As a matter of fact I just finished drying my lipstick/concealer brushes after soaking them for 2 days in remover.

  • well, if ur brush roll, is real leather, oil will make it really supple and prevent cracking, so thats good, i would try adding a few drops right to the roll itself and work it in with a finger and just wipe it away

  • great vid

  • I love that you don't use makeup all the time:) You are so real!

  • this is a very helpful video!

  • thanks for sharing. this looks really conditioning for the roll as well

  • anything oil based should work :)

  • Oh I needed this! I was so mad that I couldnt get the foundation and powder off my rolls. Thanks Ren!!!

  • I put my dirty brushes in a plastic zipper bag so my brushroll never holds a dirty brush :P

  • IkaraES - i use a plastic bag for dirty brushes when i use my brush apron and multiple clients...but if i have only one client, i'll just bring a brush roll just for them and then i dont have to worry about separating clean from dirty brushes

  • yes! i usually clean it with an oil based makeup remover, then i use purell (i know it's weird).. but it works for me :)

  • yayyyyyyyyy this was very helpful thanks so much! =D

  • ur the best ren!

  • doesnt like oil based makeup remover work also

  • GENIOUS! THANKS :)

  • wow

  • baby oil is a great idea too! and it smells good ;)

  • I think I'll try the baby oil. I used olive oil to clean some brushes (crown brushes) and now they have a funny smell. Thank you for the tip. It was great.

  • What a fabulous idea! Thanks for the great tip!
