Food and Climate Change - Meatless Monday

Why is that none of the 'vegan environmentalists' talk about overpopulation, the true cause of the problems? Using veganism to solve environmental problems or starvation is like patching up wounds when the real enemy--overpopulation is constantly gutting you with a knife.

It's so easy to remove meat/dairy just a day (or two or three) a week - There's plenty of great foods to discover! My neighbors went on "Meatless Mondays" --- Now they just do "meat monday" and eat veg the rest of the time! ;)

@beaelliott I am not interested in veggie foods to discover. I will eat meat as much as I like and any day i like. Which is 7 days a week almost every meal unless I have cereal or something with DAIRY milk. Your lifestyle isn't for me and I am not interested in every giving up meat.

@beaelliott Meat will not harm health. Limit red meat to twice a week and eat more chicken and fish. Me and my whole family are healthy and are all meat eaters. The environment is fine where I live. No I don't give a damn about the food animals as long as they are delicious. I care about my friends and family.

@beaelliott To each their own and I believe the regular science about meat consumption the one proving its not unhealthy for us not the vegan propaganda crap. Yes I have compassion for my friends and family. No I don't believe the crap about global warming and even if I did I wouldn't consume less animal products. The planet will outlive us anyways so I am good.

Please don't take me out of context.I'd say that most of the world has been preoccupied thus far and the thought of the harms done to the innocent have never really crossed their minds yet.But you seem to know the issues, yet still don't care.It's not so odd to want to be kind. Most people think they are-but have never examined the details that would prove otherwise. It's all about awareness.

Most have never thought of questioning where their food (meat) comes from-Obviously technology and a world of information has changed that and will continue to do so until a new consensus is formed. Such is the nature of civilization... We're constantly evolving and improving.Some will be left behind-as was the case in many progressive changes. Today's minority buries yesterday's fossils.Hardly "close minded".

@beaelliott I saw what you wrote and I don't need justification for eating meat. Its freedom of choice and I choose and will always choose to consume it. I don't give a crap about the cruelty aspect. As for killing for food I leave that to Slaughter Houses and I choose to eat it because I like it. I believe fermly in eating meat. Don't really care how you feel about it lol

Meat is here because these docile animals can't defend themselves against human predators. There is no rational justification for consuming meat. You can say that the whole universe is doing something without a valid reason... And it doesn't make the act any less irrational - Or any less cruel. I know all beings wish to live. If there is no NECESSITY - to take life... Then why do so?
