  • A couple of things on this video. One, it helps put this notion to bed that the 429 was a loser non-performance engine that you hear twits say all the time...further, the realization that muscle cars for the most part, with a few exceptions, all ran about the same times...that is, high thirteen to low 15 quarter miles...strongly influenced by rear end ratio and skill off the line.

  • @ToyKingWonder What You Talking About The 429 Is A Great Engine Although It May Not Be As Strong As The Ones Before...

  • @Mr310Westside actually it wasnt bud, it was a bored/stroked 390 which was a under performer to begin with which is why they bored and stroked it.

  • @Boredout454 I Never Heard Of The 429 Being A bored/stroked 390...Where Did You Get Your Info From?

  • @Mr310Westside Sorry I miss spoke its apart of the 370ci - 460 Ford 385 family.

  • @Boredout454 Yeah I Get You...Compared To The Other Engines At That Time In The 70's It Was Low In Power...

  • NICE race!!! Identical times but the Torino got him off the light.....man these are fun to watch!
