One, it helps put this notion to bed that the 429 was a loser non-performance engine that you hear twits say all the time...further, the realization that muscle cars for the most part, with a few exceptions, all ran about the same times...that is, high thirteen to low 15 quarter miles...strongly influenced by rear end ratio and skill off the line.

@Mr310Westside actually it wasnt bud, it was a bored/stroked 390 which was a under performer to begin with which is why they bored and stroked it.
