Great idea, great video! always find it hard to get a healthy snack when I am on the move, and don't want to spend money on expensive energy bars. this is the perfect solution! thanks.
@cougarbahia, I've recently tried Blue Agave (Organic sweetener) that I got from Whole Foods market. I know that most diabetics should stay away from sugar in general. I plan to do a vid on a energy bar that is much better than this one. A baked one.
@porkyboi15, yes. I'm going to make a vid on baking your own energy bars soon which will be much better than this one... I only make these in a pinch...
@panthersl56, a few minutes, just to cook the oats, You need to stir it a few times. I'm going to post a baked version of an energy bar that you can freeze the extras and use whenever you want. This one is just a quickie.
@autumn283, this is just a quick one for going out the door fast. The microwave heat is just enough. I should have another baked energy bar up in a few weeks. It's much better...
@autumn283 you don't need to cook it. the oatmeal will absord excess liquid, go sft, and easier to chew. years ago, i was given some oatmeal mixed with cordial powder, don't know what you call it there, and it was left in the bag overnight. made for a great energy mix on the trail.
mine is peanut butter, peanuts, protein powder, oats and i touch of water to make them hard. They are better than the shakes. And easy to carry with you.
That sounds simple and yummy. I do not own (or want) a microwave, though, so I'd be heating on the stove - do you just heat it until it's easier to combine or do you want it bubbling a bit? Thanks!
i am very excited to try this, im thinking of adding a little protein powder with dried berries. looks good and a heck of a lot cheaper than buying powerbars
@lsudave87 Hi Isudave, I'm going to put up another Energy bar vid that is baked. This one is just when you need to get out the door and are in a hurry...
Thanks for the recipe. The only difference between mine and yours are the oats. I didn't have any plain regular oats, all I had were the flavored instant breakfast type (Apples and Cinnamon). Adds a little bit more sugar =\ ... but it's damn good lol.
thanks for answering my question man and I actually haven't been riding for a little while cause I crashed on my bike and bent it so now the back tire drags on the rim so I either have to fix it or buy a new bike I have been thinking of buying a new bike for a while now cause the one I have is pretty old and it has a lot of problems as it is so I just might buy a new bike when I can afford it that is.
Hmm, your not suppose to be crashing after watching my vids.... lol.
If your going to get another bike, you might want to get a used one as there are always people selling their old bike because it just collects dust in the garage. You can get some pretty good deals on used bikes compared to buying new. GL
lol I didn't crash after watching your videos buddy I crashed cause I wasn't paying attention I liked turned to sharp and the front wheel like kinda got twisted up and I totally like flew off the bike only like a few feet though but it sucked cause I landed right on my palm and wrist so it hurt for a few days but am all better now oh and thanks for the advice depending on how much money I am willing to spend I just might get a used bike.
nice video man I might do that sometime looks like it tastes really good I was just wondering cause I couldn't really tell from the video do you use chunky peanut butter or creamy.
you shouldn't use protein powder in energy bars, use almonds or other nuts instead

Just made 'em man! I used sugarless syrup (all I had) and they turned out fairly beast. Props!

@redbaron422, just taylor the amount of the ingrediants to your own taste. Use either honey or agave for the sweetener so it's all 'natural'.
