The guy is a 9th dan and people wonder why he so easily beats an average Hap Ki Do instructor. Put the Hap Ki Do guy against on of the BJJ novice black belts and see if the Hap Ki Do guys training has been wasted.
@burttanium this is ignorant. Its easy to make excuses but hard to back up your words. A blue belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is capable of beating a black belt in almost any other martial art for the simple fact of how their styles match up. Helio Gracie: "I am the shark. The ground is my ocean...and most people don't even know how to swim."
@bjj1605 As for ignorant - pot meet kettle. Most BJJ blue belts have been training longer than most new black belts in other martial arts. Any person regardless of whether they have studied martial arts or not can beat a martial arts master if the circumstances are right. BJJ is a great sport martial art so long as you get to use it. It will not be much help if you get knocked out going for a double leg takedown. Helio Gracie - great man but you don't need to swim on dry land.
Pure Gracie Propaganda! I sometimes go to BJJ classes to improve my ground game and to learn something new and I get amazed with the amount of brainwashing involved in BJJ nowadays. Great Sport no doubt...but Lacks lots of things to a fight. As Rorion Gracie said in this video, people need to incorporate BJJ into their martial arts learning, incorporate, not giving up one for another. I believe in Cross training and having No style as a style? Do you guys get it? Bruce Lee the man!
@taekfute if your being bothered by those pesky and frequent incidences of multiple armed opponent combat, I suggest you 1. Stop picking fights at bars 2. Stop going into dark alleys in gang neighborhoods 3. Carry MACE
Dis guy is an asshole Gracie jujitsu isn't the best martial art others focus on ground work e.g Pancration ,Jap Jujitsu, judo ect and it's not the most important aspect in a real fight cause real fights usually against multiple opponent if you go to the ground then your dead. If your trying to fight 5 guys you really gonna waste time rolling around for five minutes and assume his friends are gonna sit around and watch? ther's no honour on the street so who's years of training are useless now?
@taekfute..hahahaha! Who the fuck tries to fight 5 guys? Is that how you and your faggot buddies like to roll? Single out some guy? You square it off with some dude while 4 of your ass clown retarded buddies jump him? You're a pussy. One of these nights you're going to go head to head with a blood thirsty bull who'll make your knees shake, and your pussy friends won't jump because they know. Then what? So shut the fuck up bad ass!
LOOK .ANY AND ALL THE MARTIAL ARTS ..."WHEN PRACTICED AND DONE PROPERLY" ARE EFFECTIVE IN THERE OWN WAY... THAT'S WHY I HAVE ALWAYS TRAINED WITH VARIOUS PEOPLE...I JUST DON'T WANT ANYONE TO BELIEVE THAT GUY IN THIS VIDEO IS A HAPKIDO MASTER ....CLEARLY.. AS YOU SAID...LOOKS LIKE "VERY BAD" TAE KWON DO
NARRATOR COMPLETLY HAS KNOW IDEA WHAT HAPKIDO IS AND MUST OF PICKED THIS HAPKIDO INSTRUCTOR FROM THE PLAY GROUND............SAYING THAT STRIKING IS HIS MAIN TECHNIQUE MAKES HIM SOUND STUPID AND UNINFORMED....BEING A 4TH DAN IN JUJITSU AND 5TH DAN IN HAPKIDO ..I CAN TELL YOU IN THIS CONTROLED ENVIRONMENT WOULD USE SOME OF MY JUJITSUNTRAINING BUT IN RES\AL LIFE MY HAPKIDO TRAINING HAS ALWAYS BEEN MORE EFFECTIVE
@steelerdude313 Exactly, Hapkido is a sister martial art of Aikido. Aikido and Hapkido focus on joiny locks. What does he mean only punches and kicks.
I don't know much about Hapkido, but I thought it also has some ground fighting wazas? Am I wrong on this one? Also, the founder of Hapkido claimed that he was taught the art by a Japanese Master of Jiu Jitsu who allegedly adopted him as a son. It turned out that it was a fraud. He was in the household of the Japanese Jiu Jitsu Master, but he was only a "house boy", and whatever martial arts he learned was not from instructions, but by just watching others practicing. A bit pathetic.
@gabbagoob1 Exactly, Jiu-jitsu the only ground technic? (He says in this video) The Greeks invented the ground fight game. Pankration/Greco-Roman Wrestling. 3,000years ago, jiu-jitsu not even close. Garbage in Garbage out.
I was under the impression that Hapkido fighters train to fight people on the ground, but I suppose since this is Rorian Gracie there was no way anyone would win on the ground against him.
@575david I'm not sure, but I don't think they paid as much attention to the ground game in Hapkido back in the day. The emergence of the UFC probably led them to put more emphasis on it.
In some old martial arts magazines I've read, they talked about Judo students didn't enjoy newaza and preferred to practice throwing. Ground-fighting just didn't hold anybody's interest.
Best style in my opinion is them all, learn as much as you can to use it for any given situation but the best thing to do is always to run if you see the opportunity.
If "most fights at against more than on person" we would have LOADS of footage of martial artist beating people up and using it for their marketing purposes. There is no such evidence that so many multiple opponent attacks occur
no me joda que ese mae es de hapkido estos de BJJ tienen la costumbre de poner a cualquier jetas aluciendo ser 10 dan en karate, muay thai, etc etc etc
according to wikipedia, the white crane system in kung fu has ground fighting as well but how come I have never seen it? i wanna know how white crane ground fighting fairs up against bjj
@garamoth7 A lot of kung-fu and karate systems do contain grappling techniques. The problem is that they can often only be found in the kata, which means practitionersof those arts don't actually have skill in those techniques or experience using them against resisting opponents.
Some traditional schools still do train grappling, but odds are they really wouldn't compare to a pure BJJ school where the grappling game always changes and evolves.
for the record...no style is better than another. it's all dependant on the person and his or her ability in whatever art(s) they have chosen. the fight in the video could have easily been between a master of one and an instuctor of another. there is no BETTER form or style just better students.
isso ai não é hapkido! sou praticante e afirmo que hapkido não perde em nada para jiu! a vezes treinamos com praticantes de jiu na regra deles,e não perdemos em nada.hapkido é o verdadeiro vale-tudo.This ai is not hapkido!
hapkido is not practical. This guy is typical of hapkido he may be good at popping balloons and teaching 6 year olds how to kick and do nice breakfalls. He might have his students tell there friends how how fast and flexible there instuctor is but his system is not practical and this clip proves it .... tank could have kicked his ass and many like him.
That guy doesn't know anything of hapkido. Hapkido is a martial art of turning your opponent's attacks against them. kicking and punching isn't even the half of it, not even a fourth. we have maybe 10 kicks and a punch. the rest is evasive movements, blocking, trapping, deflecting, break-falls and rolls, joint-locks, throwing, grappling, pressure point and vital point anatomy. all i saw here was very poor taekwondo.
@robbobby31 ::: i noticed that you were such a weasel as to not address/respond to my comment directly, but chose (as most cowards do) to be a gossiping granny and talk ABOUT me.
you're so junior high that you still avoid direct confrontation, and would be a creeping weenie if you and i met face-to-face . . . instead of manning up, you'd be a squirrel and look for some friends to help you jump me or attempt a nigger sucker punch . . .
@neobefree2 First off I'm white, eyes green as the money I have and hair blonde as Barbies. Second if you're white, you give whites a bad name throughout the whole world you small minded hick. 3rd if your raciest your opinion doesn't even matter because your whole thinking is off.. last how are you gonna call someone else a coward and you type the N word when you're safe behind a screen Hitler, Now go find you mom and fuck her like you and your brothers are use to,you redneck low life.
Bad REF!!!!!......hahahahahahahahhahahahahahhaahhahah NONSENSE. you didn't see Rorion depending on him when he was getting his balls squeezed.... damn that means if nobody was their but Rorion and Hapkido master....some1 would have gotten raped and i don't think it would have been our south american friend.
If you read directly below me. That is the reason why I don't try to convince anybody to practice GJJ. Let them keep enjoying adding on to GJJ ass whoopins. Some people need to increase their intelligence before they ever comprehend whats really going on. Until then they will remain our personal demonstrations and youtube hits. Trust me, its better this way.
@neobefree2 thats because that was after the first challenge...after the first defeat he was still questioning what was done to him..rorion held the choke longer so the man can have an idea of the effects if the fight DIDNT STOP...but he was careful to not choke him out...even if he did...it still would not have hurt him to let him go to sleep..if he let go right after he went under the effects would have lasted to 3-5 sec max...and he would have woke up and been disorientated..thats all
@whyhategetadayjob ::: oh, OK . . . so, I can hold chokes, arm bars, etc. for 3-5 times as long as needed, just to show my opponents what WOULD've happened if I held it longer . . . and the officials (not to mention my opponent) wouldn't mind one bit. Cool! Can't wait to make some enemies and get disqualified . . .
@neobefree2 This fight was not sanctioned by a Athletic Commission during the time of these videos, the only fights sanctioned was kick boxing and and boxing..the small amount of rules that were established were only to make it legal to even have the challenge match in the 1st place..this shit was a documented published fight and result..closest to real while still being legal.and i was refering to "CHOKEs"..u dont pass out from armbars.(what the hell are u talking about)..your arm just breaks.
@neobefree2 AND this video 2:53 seconds long..alot of these challenge matches got personal..the shit talking and cursing from both sides isnt shown..after losing a couple times some of the challengers still didn't accept defeat..because your forgetting they didnt just lose pride..they lost money..since this wasn't a commissioned fight all the un-sportsmen like conduct penalties shit goes out the window...they REALLY didnt like each other and its clear that they weren't trying to hide that fact
@whyhategetadayjob :::: ooooweeeeee, you sure got da inside scoop, Fart Smella. Sounds like you wus dere at da match . . . wuz you da referee who didn't do nuttin'? You musta had a reel good time watchin' . . .
@neobefree2 Well i do train at the Gracie Academy u stupid fuck..thats all they talk about around here...my grandmaster is the man your watching my head instructors are his sons Rener and Ryron....(310) 353-4100 you can get in on a challenge too if your game, thats the number to the academy...talk is cheap...we dont just talk here...you can be a video discussion to if you insist..it will be fucking great...fucking moron, dont respond unless your ready..
@whyhategetadayjob If he doesnt want to challenge I will. I will fight any place anytime. I train at a gracie academy i'm nuts tho and will go there anyways. If you pay for my plane ticket, food and all the expenses and win or lose the academy must agree to pay for my gjj training until i'm a black belt. I also want a lawyer present so we can sign a contract and agree to all the terms on paper. You don't think I would do it, but I you dont know me. xD pls pls pls
@neobefree2 Well i do train at the Gracie Academy u stupid fuck..its still brought up around here...my grandmaster is the man your watching and my head instructors are his sons Rener and Ryron....(310) 353-4100 you can get in on a challenge too if your game, thats the number to the academy...talk is cheap...we dont just talk here...you can be a video discussion too if you insist..it will be fucking great...fucking moron, dont respond unless your ready..
@neobefree2 that wasn't even funny, you can get the uncut versions of these matches, and it wasn't a private event it was pubic in Los Angeles California alot of people know how it went down. You really just sound stupid and come off as an extremely ignorant person.
@yourwackyourselfnotme::: admittedly, i was not there . . . i'm just commenting on what i'm seeing, and the judges are there . . . for what reason? when they call for break after the REPEATED tap-out? why not just go free-for-all and go until he's unconscious or expired???
@neobefree2 Well you should always comment on what you know otherwise the comment isn't valid. The Ref was there so there would be the least amount of rules as possible. If this was a fight to till they "expired" it wouldn't be very smart to hold it at a public event with police officers who r Gracie students as well watching now would it? Anyways your comment to robbobby really turned my stomach please don't speak to me anymore. Racism is a cowards act. Internet Racism is even lower. Tasteless
@youwackyourselfnotme:::: my comment is still valid, plus I made no RACIST remark whatsoever. I don't know if robooby is white, black or asian for that matter . . . he'd still attempt a "nigger" sucker punch . . . call it a redneck roundhouse from behind if you want, i don't care. Color doesn't matter, because he (and you?) are yellow up the front side and brown down the back . . .
@neobefree2 ill beat you to death seriously.. and if you what to fight meet me at the gracie academy in LA or the city boxing in compton....put you money where your moms mouth is neoNazi..I thought their was nothing more pussy than white trash in hoods but internet-kkk members earn the pussy of the year award....congrats your pussy in public and in the privacy of your home-pc..I'll beat you so bad you'll look a minority...your so into race a blood purity because no1 wants 2 fuck your ugly ass
@neobefree2 they werent trying to prove that they are gentleman..it's not the gentleman challenge..these men arent use 2 opponents going TOWARDS them WHILE they're striking..the shock of that happening is frustrating & you tend 2 say stuff like "what the fuck was that" or "lets try that again bitch" or " i didnt fucking tap i was trying to escape u lying faggot'..so if i was rorion gracie ill hold the choke alittle longer 2..hes not gonna die..it just puts in your head ..hmm what if he held it?
@whyhategetadayjob :::: oh really???? you don't PASS OUT from ARM BARS . . . i didn't know dat, George! Wowsers, you sure are a smart fella .. . . danks for da pointers. I'm sure glad you were around to set me straight on dat one. Danks again fart smella.
@whyhategetadayjob :::: neato, George! I tawt dat dis wus a chess match or polo. Sorry bout dat, i wus confoozed. Danks again for settin me on da right path, Fart Smella.
Ive been doing bjj for a while and ive sparred with strikers...and it always ended with me submitted them, so a very effective martial to know is grappling..or its something to add in ur skills if ur already a striker, if u know stand up and ground fighting, you'll b undefeatable
Same here...4 years of combat hapkido..got jumped by 3 boys and one girl....broke 2 disk in my back and took a bracelet my auntie gave me right before she died...I defended this art for too long blindly with all the years of mystical bologna....UNTIL i really had to use it, and i was in disbelief..from the bottom of my heart. FUCK HAPKIDO.
wow your story sounds EXACTLY like mine..except i was in HAPKIDO. and it was after 6 years of training IN SOUTH Korea..& it was only 3 little korean teens!..i am pretty skilled myself & held my own for about a full minute maybe two at full speed until i ran out of breath (because i was fighting 3 people,You WILL run outta gas before they do) i felt i did everything i was suppose to and i got beat...real real real bad..so keep your head up :) P.S hard to hit pressure points in the dark TRUST ME
you'll have the better chance of not knowing any style & throwing punches like you own a pair of balls than relying on ANY style for multiple people, seriously if your getting jumped so often that you wouldnt practice GJJ cuz we dont LIE" & claim were multi-person ready, then thats on you..& if everytime you get in a fight u rely on your friends to jump someone..no matter how much u fuck the guy up..when u lay down at night please kno u r a still pussy & U didnt win, 10 pairs of fist did. FAGGOT
He picked an opponent who he was a good bit bigger than. You cannot just run at, throw down and get on top of someone like that if they are bigger than you.
@fightsports66 contact your biggest homie or instructor then call the "Gracie Academy", tell them your just a honest skeptic and you want to see if size does matter single style to style.they get these calls still from time to time..they'll set up a appointment and make sure your there so your homie/instructor doesn't lie to you....i know its just a honest thought so here's the number good #(310) 353-4100...lets just say i herd alot of skeptics and now they train at the academy...goodluck
jiu jitsu is a good martial art u had a point but try your so called great martial art against kung fu or penjak silat and see how far you get with that haha i myself took penjak silat for 6 years and nothing compares to it not even jiu jitsu
If bjj is so innefective, then why are all the videos on youtbe of bjj players fuckin other styles up? send me a video, or any evidence where a style that does not emphasize ground fighting has the advantage over bjj. its like my own lil gracie challenge, someone PLEASE prove me wrong, im not saying that bjj is the best style, im just saying that you need to know what to do if you get on the ground, whatever system does that is fine by me, but magic kung fu tricks and pressure points arent it
@sharkfinnigan Its not gonna happen Never Did,Never Will,We're dealing with scarred emotional people who lost 10-15 years of their life (lol sadly this includes me..Tae kwon Do And hapkido) I studied those arts since childhood & I came to a grim reality when a gjj school opened up in my community & i poked fun & even spit on their mats! just disrespected them!my arrogants got me a fight 2 remember,im not gonna go on about how i lost (or how many times : >but they got my respect & my membership
@brickj79 its frustrating man, lol its 2011, you think people wouldnt be so damn ignorant.... but i guess thats better for people like us JITZ FO LIFE HOMIE!!!
@sharkfinnigan I'll give you this response and hope I don't get trolled for it. BJJ is a fine martial art, but it is only effective where it is intended. From what I know of BJJ, it is purely a grappling art. While most of the techniques work from strikes, this art is weak in that field. The same goes for Judo or Aikido (I train Aikido, 3 years so far). Now, if you move to striking arts, such as Taekwondo or Karate, they are weak in grappling. It's not the style, but the practitioner.
@sharkfinnigan Because, all the other styles don't do vital point strikes, or counters that can cause a broken neck when opponent goes for a take down. at the end of the day its still a demonstration made in good sport. key word is sport. bjj is good to know, but if there is more than one opponent, you're done.
@maksim55669 Stop renting edbox movies homie...nobody attacks one at a time when your jumped...if everyone punches at your forehead at the same time in front in back and the side of you...your going down...period...half of these other disciplines cant take one ONE BJJ guy...so how the fuck would you remotely think shit's gonna be peaches and cream with 3,4,5, people...get the fuck outta here with your comic book bullshit....i was once just like you i
@whyhategetadayjob First off, you have my sympathies. that indeed was a brutal ordeal and i hope you're ok now. I can't testify to effectiveness of hapkido or mauy thai as i've never trained in it. I have trained for 15 years in traditional shotokan karate and i can say without a shadow of a doubt that it saved my life on several occasions. On one occasion it was against multiple attackers.
@whyhategetadayjob what karate taught me is to keep my cool, find an angle of attack where i'm facing two opponents at most, or get out of the center of attack and how to properly defend against strikes from hands, legs, and knives. Say what you want, but this style saved my life. At the end of t he day, the most important thing is to avoid fighting whenever you can and most of the time, unless you're looking for trouble, you won't be in a situation where there is a gang beating up on you.
@whyhategetadayjob Tae Kwan Doe is the closes cousin to karate that you have named. However, i've never been partial to it because it too is too rooted in sport and not enough on proper self defense. I agree with you that too many styles are pushing fake skills on students. However, that isn't true for all of them. Karate, traditional Jiu Jitsu, aikido, and even tai chi have been the founding styles of modern military defense. but like you said, it is better to run and live.
@maksim55669 its hard 2 find traditional Karate as it is for Tae Kwon Do but i was at a traditional school..i entered competition on my own..all your points are true but most of my comments are geared toward these brainwashed bone heads who just wont let the fight they are seeing sink end..even though all of them were verified & published by Black Belt Mag. the most TRUSTED Mag their EVER WAS for martial arts..its like talkin 2 zombies who never sparred a GJJ practitioner EVER & still talkING..
@maksim55669 I Practiced Mauy Thai and Tae kwon do since i was 6 fucking years old until i was 19...placed in top 3 for most of my full contact tournaments in San Diego to National City..around my 19th birthday i got jumped by a bunch of bloods for no fucking reason and there was only 4 of them...by the time i had a glimmer of a chance to stop blocking random amateur punches and knees that were so unorthodox it was hard to even use my years of training because they werent
@whyhategetadayjob However, when it comes down to it, running is always better. or kicking in the balls and running, or striking to the throat, eyes, solar plexus, nose, and running. There are a lot of styles that have been americanized for sport or entertainment sake. Modern Muay Thai is not like traditional muay thai. From what i've seen, it won't help in a real life situation. It will only help in the ring.
@maksim55669 the pretty strikes that i was trained to react to....it was sloppy, random and brutal as fuck...then i finally got one down after like 2mins of straight blocking and moving...i got hit so hard from the side it broke my jaw in 2 places...i blackout for a half a sec. and was kneed in my back soon as my eyes open while i was still standing.. then i fell and they kicked my 2 of my side teeth in..and i was one of the most skilled "fighters" in my city let alone my martial arts class
@maksim55669 i put my whole life at risk because i was so confident in a bunch of bullshit that was never tested..when i should have just ran like the gracies taught me later..IM SICK AND TIERED OF FAKE ASS ARTS LYING TO HUNDREDS UNTIL IT REALLY HAPPENS to YOU...and never do you see or read about any proof of these "moves" until you REALLY get jumped and REALLY fail believing bullshit LIKE I DID..YOU PEOPLE ARE SO BRAINWASHED AND STUPID ITS FUCKING UNBELIEVABLE..
@maksim55669 i STILL keep in contact with my instructors because they were more than just teachers they were like father figures.but when they visited me in the hospital they had NO ANSWERS to NOTHING that HAPPENED because they knew i was (or lied 2 me for years) one of their most skilled students and i did everything i was trained to do..Its still replays from time to time in my sleep at night.& i couldnt have done anything different my technique was close 2 perfect..i SHOOD of just have ran!
@maksim55669 ok if theres more than one opponent then chances are you done any ways. unless your a big ass guy against a few smaller guys, ill stick to my bjj, ik from personal experience how effective it can be in a "real fight" im a bouncer, i see fights every God damn day, its more than a sport, its a fighting style that can help you in many real life situations, dont believe me go start shit at a bar, most bouncers these days are training instead of just being big meat heads
@sharkfinnigan If your talking about style vs style match in a ring then Bjj is the most effective there is IMO. The problem comes in when bjj is turned into a self defense method. For one thing most fights are not a 1v1 so if you took the one guy down then his buddy would probably kick the shit out of your. The other problem is that most fights don't happen on a padded dojo floor. Try some bjj with your friends on concrete, asphalt, or even wooden floors and see how well that works.
@INexasI You need to be able to handle one opponent before you can handle two. If you don't know what to do when someone takes you to the ground, then that's a problem you need to fix because someone on the street can do that to you too (Even if he's untrained).
Also, concrete and other hard surfaces make grappling MORE effective. How would you like it if a BJJ or Judo guy threw you face-first onto the asphalt? Takedowns are just as much a part of grappling as ground fighting.
In this classic argument, why oh why is it always the other guy who has friends standing around? Where are your friends? I hear this all the time and I'm sick of it... we are not all friendless losers you know. What's to stop my friends kicking the shit out of HIM when he's on the ground?
BJJ on concrete? Not a problem... you see, most of us don't walk around the place naked. Even in a t-shirt, the adrenaline would take care of the discomfort.
@abbas224 Well for one about the friendless thing when I think about a fight thats not 1v1 I think more of a 4v4 or a 5v5 kinda thing so it could go either way. As for rolling around on the concrete the pain isn't an issue, its how you would maybe space your head on the concrete, or the damage you would do to your skin while submitting them.
1) BJJ guys are tough. Cracked ribs, sprains, dislocations, muscle tears etc. are commonplace in training... a regular BJJ practitioner is not going to be bothered by a few grazes.
2) The fact that you talk about skin damage and head space implies the BJJ guy is going to be on the bottom.
The average street thug is not a proficient grappler... if you're half decent in BJJ you won't be rolling around... you'll be on top of your attacker, raining down strikes or locking in a submission.
Also, when you say that most fights are not 1v1.. in my area, the reverse is true. Around here, you are far more likely to be attacked by one drunken bully than by a group of armed thugs.
I agree that people are too against BJJ....i personally do Judo but either way you need grappling...however don't discredit pressure points...i've done full contact sparring against someone who used pressure point tactics and let me tell ya...not easy to win when you cant move your arm. but as for my opinion i think BJJ is great as long as you have standing skill too.
@lzrdsixsix6 word brother, judo is awesome , there is a little bit in my bjj curriculum but not nearly comprehensive enough for my taste, and yeah i agree with you, there are a lot of situations that you could need to defend yourself in that going to the ground would be a bad idea, i tend to steer clear of conflict in general, but i think in a one on one fair fight "not that that ever happens lol" i would be able to at the very least not die lol thanks to bjj
This is just me typing out loud to NO particular people...but why does everybody talk about the Gracies personalities like they want to go on a hot date with them? im a straight male with nothing against gays but....why the fuck would most men constantly care about how cocky or arrogant they are like they looking for their bazilian soul mate....i thought this was youtube...not eharmony dot com
@whyhategetadayjob AMEN!!!! Thought i was the only one who noticed this "Oh I wish the gracies were just my type so i can bring em home to mommy" trend. All i say is fight them put it on youtube or shut up. oh he be the gracie. oh and he beat the gracie too. mothafucka so what. yo punk ass aint! so who the fuck cares. seems 2 me those gracie niggas is fightin everybody win or lose, thats some warrior shit, who the fuck can hate that? while yall talkin shit behind a faceless internet account !LAmE
Korean began to plagiarize the Japanese martial arts from the late 20th century. Korean martial arts is nothing to the history of Korea. Individual martial arts was not developed in the Joseon Dynasty(Korea).
Taekwondo plagiarized the Shotokan Karate. Tang Soo Do plagiarized Gojyuryu Karate. Haidong Gumdo and Kumdo plagiarized Kenjutsu and Kendo. Hapkido plagiarized the Daitoryu Jujutsu and Aikido. Yudo plagiarized Judo. Hwa Rang Do is not historical martial arts. Hwa Rang was dancer.
@SupremeARA915 thank you because I take combat hapkido and I see hapkido videos and we don't compete in competitions because it's geared towards joint manipulation and flexibility in the legs is not needed but I was just wondering thanks
OBVIOUS THAT THE FACT OF MARTIAL ARTS BE DIVERGENT FIELD OF THE SOIL IN ACADEMY IS JIU The predominance. JUST WANTED TO KNOW IF YOU SFIGHTING IN THE STREETS WITH 3 RASCALS IF YOU WASTE TIME AND MOBILITY TO MAKE SUCH APPLICATION CLOWN AGAIN ........ ....
@JcZorro3000 combat hapkido is more modern its traditional hapkido but takes away the useless moves and techniques and replaces them with boxing, bjj and wrestling, so pretty much its a modified version of hapkido
um we(gjj) derived from judo we have slams too. their just taught in a different sequence than in judo with less emphasis on the importance, hence the fact that it could cause major damage but it could also piss off the giant u just threw & boost his adrenalin.we focus on ground work early & advanced throws later.u dont see alot of throws in most gjj simply kus the practitioner hasnt got 2 that stage in his training. so cut it out with the concrete shit , who agrees to fight on that? jus stupid
ALL of these were 5 - $10,000 challenges im sure the the hapkido guy was skilled and confident he was gonna win or he wouldnt of put up the fucking cash in the first place. not to mention they challenged the gracies not the other way around. if you were trying to put your new art on the map & beat hella masters in the process, you would add confidence (arrogance) to your sales pitch and have it on Youtube the next fuckin day. cry me a river with the bullshit, get over it this is like15years old
@whyhategetadayjob really? cause there is a video of a japanese "master" who put up 5000$ to beat "any MMA fighter" using no strikes or grappling at all. Using only chi powers and stuff. Guess who won? and guess who ran out of mana? Having lots of money doesnt make you a serious fighter. Bruce Lee did the exact same thing, and only losers challenged him (guys that couldnt even take a punch to the face). Notice how no serious fighter challeneged Bruce Lee. Same with the Gracies.
@ikcjjtt Well unfortunately you can only fight people who except the challenge..theirs over 80 years of footage from Rio to japan to US...ALL of those guys were bums? thats not even realistic you can research all the opponents if you have nothing better to do and you'll see that there not? i still respect the people that lost..their bums because they lost 1 fight? thats pretty harsh dude..most people havent even been in one fight let alone fight a gracie..
@whyhategetadayjob i train in over 7 styles, been in countless fights, sparring matches, ect with many opponents from ALL styles. "most people havent even been in one fight " then u agree with me that the people in these Gracie videos havent been in a fight b4? or perhaps not the type of fight the Gracies set up...
@ikcjjtt if you or some1 you know practices Hapkido & Hapkido only, then do a rematch & they'll except the challenge at the Gracie Academy they'll respect u for even calling, but it better be style verses style & they shood not see their art mixed in yours to prove u can win with gjj & not just Hapkido, they still do challenges my friend, its not for profit anymore because they already proved what they needed to prove & we all know u cant convince everybody, heres the #(310) 353-4100.goodluck
@whyhategetadayjob it would be pointless- i know several styles, including BJJ and japanese jujutsu. All im saying is when a boxer goes into a fight and never throws a punch-something is wrong.
@ikcjjtt you have to understand that outside of japan and russia grappling was not even remotely looked at as threat most americans didnt even know what it was..wrestlers didnt start coming about in actual cage fighting till around ufc 3 after they seen most didnt have a defense against it and added some strikes to their game..the boxer royce faught was a National Golden Gloves champion...thats Olympic level my dude..only thing wrong was nobody knew what to do..
@ikcjjtt Rorion gracie created the UFC in order to show what STYLE not STYLES was the most dominate..he had as little rules as possible that the united states would allow..he sold his rights to the UFC because congress wanted MORE rules.in the streets the ref doesnt save you if theirs no "action". in gjj the whole style is based upon waring the opponent down as he continuously strikes & THEN get the dominate position and end it..that way dont have to weight train like a NFL first draft pick 2win
@ikcjjtt point of the story is you see strikers NOWadays striking with confidence ONLY because they know basic counters to common takedowns because they cross train "like u do". prior to ufc that wasnt the story, GJJ to strikers was like virgins seeing pussy.they simply didnt know what to do with it because until Royce exposed it to the west.the people talking shit now wouldnt if they didnt have GJJ in their arsenal.so i just give thanks where its due instead of badmouthing after they exposed a
@SupremeARA915 & thats because the gracies are human, i dont know why people speak so nasty of them when they lose, manny pacquiao has 3losses /2draws.but hes still regarded as one of the top boxer in the world.nobody goes haha you must not be that great wit 3 losses..if the gracies have many victories world wide and endless footage of their fights.for every badass to see .so who really has the advantage? 2 win after all that against you is out there is even more remarkable when it does happens
@SupremeARA915 & sidenote royce beat wrestlers, judakas & shoot fighters.your point is?? hell i beat judokas & wrestlers and a couple wrestlers beat me,i never met anyone who trains in shoot fighting but i expect to win if i do,as im sure they do,but im not devastated if i lose..I just tighten up what i was caught in and raise hell on the next one i run into, disrespect gets you nowhere bro,i wish u well none the less and hope your mind opens alittle, these fighers arent pokemon their real people
@whyhategetadayjob yeah but the gracies went and still go around saying their style is their best, they think they are gods and even say they invented mma(when in japan it was already famous) in all this gra cie videos they go around disrespecting all martial arts and are not humble like a true martial artists is, i though it was really funy when the said bjj is superior to judo yet grandmaster helio gracie got his arms broken by a famous judoka
@SupremeARA915 Because they believe it is..I think its is...many others civilian and military also based upon the ratio of success to the AVERAGE person...the US AMY conducted a 10 year study of the success rate to the average Joe compared to ALL martial art before adopting it over many other arts in 2002..meaning best success rate for Men AND Women..The gracies dont think they INVENTED the MMA..they just INVEnted the UFC and made MMA populaur outside of one geographical island.did they not?
@whyhategetadayjob well everyone believes thier martial art is superior, despite how many times it loses on a constanst basis to other less popular arts (i.e catch wreslting). And there is no such study conducted by any army, based on any average person of any country. Such a study would be impossible and pointless for the army. Since they dont use combatives in actual combat. I was trained by the army, so i know.
@SupremeARA915 and that famous judoka out weighed his scronny ass by 80 pounds after the 2nd longest recorded fight recorded in history..but back to my point.a martial art isnt determined superior based upon your opinion or mine.its based upon a large data base & a average outcome.not based upon a super ATHLETE with well rounded skills..yes the Gracies come off a bit cocky at times but look at who they fought & what they practiced and who came close to their success rate vs other martial arts.
@whyhategetadayjob plenty of catch wreslters took out the Gracies as well. Large data bases and average outcomes of martial arts dont exists. I have looked at peer reviewed journals and it specifically said such studies would be bias, illegal, pointless, no safe way to test it, and no basic definition, operationalization or conceptualization. and just way to much politics. Im a college student and took classes on this type of stuff. Not to mension as the army says-"the winner of a-
@whyhategetadayjob combatives match is the guy whose friends show up first with the guns". The real reason why the army even bothers learning BJJ or martial arts in general is to get the soldiers used to fighting. close the distance and finish the fight. BJJ is pointless in modern warfare. They simple use it as a training tool to get the soldiers somewhat trained in a fast amount of time. They dont train in it because they believe BJJ is superior and shit, honestly its just popular and-
@whyhategetadayjob made the cut. Back in WWII where there were many hand to hand combat matches- no single style was used, but they took the most dangerous moves of many arts and created a striking style whose sole purpose was to disable and kill in the fastest time possible. it was pretty much eye gouges, knife fighting, and other simple gross motor skills. I bet in the next 10 yrs some other MA will take its place-hopefully Kali (knife fighting), since no soldier i met has even been in unarmed
@whyhategetadayjob combat on the battlefield. How do u lose 50 pounds or more of gear, your entire squad, all your weapons, your location and map. And just happen to bump into a soldier who lost ALL the exact same things...lost in the middle of nowhere. Hell, if i was ever in such a position, i would just run. Even the Samurai had weapons, and when they didnt, they would just put the guy in a hold until their friends came along with one.
@whyhategetadayjob oh so he lost because the judoka was way bigger than him? wait what happend to all that bjj can defeated a much stronger and bigger opponent thing? helio got defeated many times even by one of his students, the gracies were not to succesful in vale tudo matches
@SupremeARA915 Rickson Gracie was one of the best to ever compete in vale tudo...helio was weaker than your average weak man..he had lot of health problems that effected his size..and the gracies get defeated all the time by their students....do you know whats thats called?....A GOOD TEACHER.....whatever do what you do....im not a gjj mascot...gracies did more for this country (U.S) than anyone of you..no1s perfect but you people judge like you thought your name was god or something...
@whyhategetadayjob umm no e do that because the gracies think they are gods and that their style is the best, they say you cant go into mma without bjj and saythere is no style better than bjj, judakos and cath wrestlers defeated the gracies many times, royce had a really hard time defeating a boxer with no fighting experience, and good nteachers get defeated by their students?lol thats too funny, the gracies even say they invented jui jitsu lol bjj its nothing but kosen judo with leg locks
@SupremeARA915 Fuck yeah if you Never Ever beat your teacher or assistant instructor even in 1 sparring session then you either suck or they didnt teach you everything...or your teacher is Goku....my teachers is Rener and Ryron Gracie and (Gracie Academy ALL DAY) i presonally havent seen them lose but im sure its happened with some of the black or brown belts..or in a private session....but they encourage you to try your best...who wants a half-ass student....im done talking your trippin
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@whyhategetadayjob hahahah beating your instructor is called your instructor let you beat himto give you confidence hahahahha, and helio as not defeated infriendly sparring, he had arguments ith his students so they took him to vale tudo matches ere he got his ass kicked
@whyhategetadayjob As I very simply stated this guy was no IN ANY WAY PRACTICING HAPKIDO. You do not run at someone, PERIOD. As for anything else I will ask Master but as he grew up in Asia some he tend to fight a little on the evil side compared to what we tend to see. Stop trying to preach to everyone on here.
@TheBarrett1971 dude this guy isnt the only hapkido guy who went down.Your style may be great (i havent seen hapkido vs any other style either though, anywhere except other hapkido practitioners and karate )but maybe G-jujitsu or ground fighters in general yall just dont have a answer for..just get over it..talk is cheap..i understand your frustration none the less. some other Hapkido guy has been through this whole never let it sink in thing too and looks like he got over it, if u read below us
@whyhategetadayjob By the Green Belt in Hapkido you are trained in LETHAL blows, we are not going with talk is cheap and all of the BS. Simply and straight up lethal blows by the green belt. I don't know if you know much about the ranking of belts in Hapkido but that is pretty much the beginner phase. Not even talking about weapons that you use. Gracie is a bad ass no doubt but you put him in the ring with a Grand Master it would be his ass. Jiu-Jitsu, GRAND MASTER THIS GUY IS NOT.
@TheBarrett1971 There is no death due to LETHAL blow in any record anywhere from hapkido on purpose or accidental look it up yourself. In Gracie Jiu Jitsu our most powerful moves are thought in the beginning & less practical moves or sport moves towards the end to make students effective asap. there & more cases for accidental death due to "beginner moves" than any other martial art to date.not to mention the one's done on purpose. this isnt including COUNTLESS arm, leg, ect breaks im sure u seen.
@whyhategetadayjob I don't need to look it up, by the yellow belt a neck snapping move is taught, do you think a broken neck is safe, of course not. Hapkido is extremely difficult and what you learn in the beginning is simply added onto as each belt advancement. And yes there is a heart blow taught by the green belt in Hapkido, and done correctly will KILL.
@TheBarrett1971 Yes Hapkido is very under rated in the pro martial arts sports in america. The North Koreans specail forces use this training style to the extreme... and admitingly, this it scary shit to watch.
@TheBarrett1971 like i said those moves have never been tested scientifically or even by accident EVER! not even ONCE in history..if i say "I could place my hand in 3 spots on your chest then you'll die instantly..you can PRACTICE it too.but DONT ever TRY it cuz it works" um thats called a con-artiest not a martial artiest..look it up yourself..hell even ask your master..those attacks have never been DONE but im sure they've been attempted..you go attempt it..i PROMISE your victim will be safe
@TheBarrett1971 THIS IS THE EXACT reason why these early challenges were conducted to prove these magic death strikes dont exist..dont you think out of the 231,688 people who saw this link not 2 mention the other links, that ONE hapkido guy would step-up & say this is how its done..the only other guys that did went down just like this those tapes just aren't as popular on youtube..matter of fact fuck a gracie challenge! what about a simple UFC fight against ANY other style!SNAP OUT OF IT BRO
@whyhategetadayjob So someone's neck being broke would not make for a bad day? Yes by THE YELLOW BELT it is taught in Hapkido. I don't need to snap out of anything this joke of a guy was a plant or was told what to do to make someone else look good, PERIOD.
@whyhategetadayjob So someone's neck being broke would not make for a bad day? Yes by THE YELLOW BELT it is taught in Hapkido. I don't need to snap out of anything this joke of a guy was a plant or was told what to do to make someone else look good, PERIOD.
@TheBarrett1971 homie the gracies aint the only guys to beat on your cult members...u guys can train to break necks all you want...Gjj is known to break any limb you give us...and you've seen footage everywhere in the streets and even in sport by accident...you Havent HERD, SEEN, READ, OR SAW ANY FOOTAGE OF NECK BREAKS HAPPENING FROM A HAPKIDO GUY...look at the other viewer comments who practiced YOUR art..EVEN THEY ADMIT THEY WASTED THEIR LIFE...these guys werent plants...they just got planted.

The guy is a 9th dan and people wonder why he so easily beats an average Hap Ki Do instructor. Put the Hap Ki Do guy against on of the BJJ novice black belts and see if the Hap Ki Do guys training has been wasted.
burttanium 1 week ago
@burttanium this is ignorant. Its easy to make excuses but hard to back up your words. A blue belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is capable of beating a black belt in almost any other martial art for the simple fact of how their styles match up. Helio Gracie: "I am the shark. The ground is my ocean...and most people don't even know how to swim."
bjj1605 4 days ago

Bruce Lee the man!

lsloewen2 2 weeks ago
Dis guy is an asshole Gracie jujitsu isn't the best martial art others focus on ground work e.g Pancration ,Jap Jujitsu, judo ect and it's not the most important aspect in a real fight cause real fights usually against multiple opponent if you go to the ground then your dead. If your trying to fight 5 guys you really gonna waste time rolling around for five minutes and assume his friends are gonna sit around and watch? ther's no honour on the street so who's years of training are useless now?
taekfute 1 month ago
@taekfute..hahahaha! Who the fuck tries to fight 5 guys? Is that how you and your faggot buddies like to roll? Single out some guy? You square it off with some dude while 4 of your ass clown retarded buddies jump him? You're a pussy. One of these nights you're going to go head to head with a blood thirsty bull who'll make your knees shake, and your pussy friends won't jump because they know. Then what? So shut the fuck up bad ass!

steelerdude313 2 months ago 3
@steelerdude313 Exactly, Hapkido is a sister martial art of Aikido. Aikido and Hapkido focus on joiny locks. What does he mean only punches and kicks.
MrStathis77 1 month ago
I don't know much about Hapkido, but I thought it also has some ground fighting wazas? Am I wrong on this one? Also, the founder of Hapkido claimed that he was taught the art by a Japanese Master of Jiu Jitsu who allegedly adopted him as a son. It turned out that it was a fraud. He was in the household of the Japanese Jiu Jitsu Master, but he was only a "house boy", and whatever martial arts he learned was not from instructions, but by just watching others practicing. A bit pathetic.

I was under the impression that Hapkido fighters train to fight people on the ground, but I suppose since this is Rorian Gracie there was no way anyone would win on the ground against him.
575david 3 months ago
@575david I'm not sure, but I don't think they paid as much attention to the ground game in Hapkido back in the day. The emergence of the UFC probably led them to put more emphasis on it.
In some old martial arts magazines I've read, they talked about Judo students didn't enjoy newaza and preferred to practice throwing. Ground-fighting just didn't hold anybody's interest.

All styles have their advantages and flaws.
Best style in my opinion is them all, learn as much as you can to use it for any given situation but the best thing to do is always to run if you see the opportunity.

according to wikipedia, the white crane system in kung fu has ground fighting as well but how come I have never seen it? i wanna know how white crane ground fighting fairs up against bjj
garamoth7 4 months ago
@garamoth7 A lot of kung-fu and karate systems do contain grappling techniques. The problem is that they can often only be found in the kata, which means practitionersof those arts don't actually have skill in those techniques or experience using them against resisting opponents.
Some traditional schools still do train grappling, but odds are they really wouldn't compare to a pure BJJ school where the grappling game always changes and evolves.

for the record...no style is better than another. it's all dependant on the person and his or her ability in whatever art(s) they have chosen. the fight in the video could have easily been between a master of one and an instuctor of another. there is no BETTER form or style just better students.

hapkido is not practical.

SpikyPeahorn 3 months ago
That guy doesn't know anything of hapkido. Hapkido is a martial art of turning your opponent's attacks against them. kicking and punching isn't even the half of it, not even a fourth. we have maybe 10 kicks and a punch. the rest is evasive movements, blocking, trapping, deflecting, break-falls and rolls, joint-locks, throwing, grappling, pressure point and vital point anatomy. all i saw here was very poor taekwondo.

@neobefree2 Well you should always comment on what you know otherwise the comment isn't valid. The Ref was there so there would be the least amount of rules as possible. sharkfinnigan 5 months ago
StormbringerStudios 4 months ago
@sharkfinnigan Because, all the other styles don't do vital point strikes, or counters that can cause a broken neck when opponent goes for a take down. at the end of the day its still a demonstration made in good sport. key word is sport. bjj is good to know, but if there is more than one opponent, you're done.

whyhategetadayjob 4 months ago
@whyhategetadayjob First off, you have my sympathies. that indeed was a brutal ordeal and i hope you're ok now. I can't testify to effectiveness of hapkido or mauy thai as i've never trained in it. I have trained for 15 years in traditional shotokan karate and i can say without a shadow of a doubt that it saved my life on several occasions. On one occasion it was against multiple attackers.
maksim55669 4 months ago
@whyhategetadayjob what karate taught me is to keep my cool, find an angle of attack where i'm facing two opponents at most, or get out of the center of attack and how to properly defend against strikes from hands, legs, and knives. Say what you want, but this style saved my life. At the end of t he day, the most important thing is to avoid fighting whenever you can and most of the time, unless you're looking for trouble, you won't be in a situation where there is a gang beating up on you.
maksim55669 4 months ago
@whyhategetadayjob Tae Kwan Doe is the closes cousin to karate that you have named. However, i've never been partial to it because it too is too rooted in sport and not enough on proper self defense. I agree with you that too many styles are pushing fake skills on students. However, that isn't true for all of them. Karate, traditional Jiu Jitsu, aikido, and even tai chi have been the founding styles of modern military defense. but like you said, it is better to run and live.
maksim55669 4 months ago
@maksim55669 its hard 2 find traditional Karate as it is for Tae Kwon Do but i was at a traditional school..i entered competition on my own..all your points are true but most of my comments are geared toward these brainwashed bone heads who just wont let the fight they are seeing sink end..even though all of them were verified & published by Black Belt Mag. the most TRUSTED Mag their EVER WAS for martial arts..its like talkin 2 zombies who never sparred a GJJ practitioner EVER & still talkING..

whyhategetadayjob 4 months ago
@whyhategetadayjob However, when it comes down to it, running is always better. or kicking in the balls and running, or striking to the throat, eyes, solar plexus, nose, and running. There are a lot of styles that have been americanized for sport or entertainment sake. Modern Muay Thai is not like traditional muay thai. From what i've seen, it won't help in a real life situation. It will only help in the ring.
maksim55669 4 months ago
@maksim55669 the pretty strikes that i was trained to react to....it was sloppy, random and brutal as fuck...then i finally got one down after like 2mins of straight blocking and moving...i got hit so hard from the side it broke my jaw in 2 places...i blackout for a half a sec. and was kneed in my back soon as my eyes open while i was still standing.. then i fell and they kicked my 2 of my side teeth in..and i was one of the most skilled "fighters" in my city let alone my martial arts class

sharkfinnigan 4 months ago
@sharkfinnigan Krav Maga would molest Bjj
th4Guy77 4 months ago
@sharkfinnigan If your talking about style vs style match in a ring then Bjj is the most effective there is IMO. The problem comes in when bjj is turned into a self defense method. For one thing most fights are not a 1v1 so if you took the one guy down then his buddy would probably kick the shit out of your. The other problem is that most fights don't happen on a padded dojo floor. Try some bjj with your friends on concrete, asphalt, or even wooden floors and see how well that works.
INexasI 3 months ago
@INexasI You need to be able to handle one opponent before you can handle two. If you don't know what to do when someone takes you to the ground, then that's a problem you need to fix because someone on the street can do that to you too (Even if he's untrained).
Also, concrete and other hard surfaces make grappling MORE effective. How would you like it if a BJJ or Judo guy threw you face-first onto the asphalt? Takedowns are just as much a part of grappling as ground fighting.
ThePinkMan 3 months ago
@INexasI
Even in a t-shirt, the adrenaline would take care of the discomfort.
abbas224 3 months ago
@abbas224 Well for one about the friendless thing when I think about a fight thats not 1v1 I think more of a 4v4 or a 5v5 kinda thing so it could go either way. As for rolling around on the concrete the pain isn't an issue, its how you would maybe space your head on the concrete, or the damage you would do to your skin while submitting them.
INexasI 3 months ago
@INexasI
The average street thug is not a proficient grappler... if you're half decent in BJJ you won't be rolling around... you'll be on top of your attacker, raining down strikes or locking in a submission.
abbas224 3 months ago
@INexasI
Also, when you say that most fights are not 1v1.. in my area, the reverse is true. Around here, you are far more likely to be attacked by one drunken bully than by a group of armed thugs.
abbas224 3 months ago
@sharkfinnigan
I agree that people are too against BJJ....i personally do Judo but either way you need grappling...however don't discredit pressure points...i've done full contact sparring against someone who used pressure point tactics and let me tell ya...not easy to win when you cant move your arm. but as for my opinion i think BJJ is great as long as you have standing skill too.
lzrdsixsix6 3 months ago
@lzrdsixsix6 word brother, judo is awesome , there is a little bit in my bjj curriculum but not nearly comprehensive enough for my taste, and yeah i agree with you, there are a lot of situations that you could need to defend yourself in that going to the ground would be a bad idea, i tend to steer clear of conflict in general, but i think in a one on one fair fight "not that that ever happens lol" i would be able to at the very least not die lol thanks to bjj

ALL of these were 5 - $10,000 challenges im sure the the hapkido guy was skilled and confident he was gonna win or he wouldnt of put up the fucking cash in the first place. not to mention they challenged the gracies not the other way around. if you were trying to put your new art on the map & beat hella masters in the process, you would add confidence (arrogance) to your sales pitch and have it on Youtube the next fuckin day. cry me a river with the bullshit, get over it this is like15years old
whyhategetadayjob 5 months ago
@whyhategetadayjob really? cause there is a video of a japanese "master" who put up 5000$ to beat "any MMA fighter" using no strikes or grappling at all. Using only chi powers and stuff. Guess who won? and guess who ran out of mana? Having lots of money doesnt make you a serious fighter. Bruce Lee did the exact same thing, and only losers challenged him (guys that couldnt even take a punch to the face). Notice how no serious fighter challeneged Bruce Lee. Same with the Gracies.

@ikcjjtt you have to understand that outside of japan and russia grappling was not even remotely looked at as threat most americans didnt even know what it was..wrestlers didnt start coming about in actual cage fighting till around ufc 3 after they seen most didnt have a defense against it and added some strikes to their game..the boxer royce faught was a National Golden Gloves champion...thats Olympic level my dude..only thing wrong was nobody knew what to do..
whyhategetadayjob 5 months ago
@ikcjjtt Rorion gracie created the UFC in order to show what STYLE not STYLES was the most dominate..he had as little rules as possible that the united states would allow..he sold his rights to the UFC because congress wanted MORE rules.in the streets the ref doesnt save you if theirs no "action". in gjj the whole style is based upon waring the opponent down as he continuously strikes & THEN get the dominate position and end it..that way dont have to weight train like a NFL first draft pick 2win

SupremeARA915 5 months ago
@SupremeARA915 Because they believe it is..I think its is...many others civilian and military also based upon the ratio of success to the AVERAGE person...the US AMY conducted a 10 year study of the success rate to the average Joe compared to ALL martial art before adopting it over many other arts in 2002..meaning best success rate for Men AND Women..The gracies dont think they INVENTED the MMA..they just INVEnted the UFC and made MMA populaur outside of one geographical island.did they not?
whyhategetadayjob 5 months ago
@whyhategetadayjob well everyone believes thier martial art is superior, despite how many times it loses on a constanst basis to other less popular arts (i.e catch wreslting). And there is no such study conducted by any army, based on any average person of any country. Such a study would be impossible and pointless for the army. Since they dont use combatives in actual combat. I was trained by the army, so i know.
ikcjjtt 5 months ago

SupremeARA915 5 months ago
@SupremeARA915 Rickson Gracie was one of the best to ever compete in vale tudo...helio was weaker than your average weak man..he had lot of health problems that effected his size..and the gracies get defeated all the time by their students....do you know whats thats called?....A GOOD TEACHER.....whatever do what you do....im not a gjj mascot...gracies did more for this country (U.S) than anyone of you..no1s perfect but you people judge like you thought your name was god or something...
whyhategetadayjob 5 months ago
@whyhategetadayjob umm no e do that because the gracies think they are gods and that their style is the best, they say you cant go into mma without bjj and saythere is no style better than bjj, judakos and cath wrestlers defeated the gracies many times, royce had a really hard time defeating a boxer with no fighting experience, and good nteachers get defeated by their students?lol thats too funny, the gracies even say they invented jui jitsu lol bjj its nothing but kosen judo with leg locks

@TheBarrett1971 dude this guy isnt the only hapkido guy who went down.Your style may be great (i havent seen hapkido vs any other style either though, anywhere except other hapkido practitioners and karate )but maybe G-jujitsu or ground fighters in general yall just dont have a answer for..just get over it..talk is cheap..i understand your frustration none the less. some other Hapkido guy has been through this whole never let it sink in thing too and looks like he got over it, if u read below us
whyhategetadayjob 4 months ago
@whyhategetadayjob By the Green Belt in Hapkido you are trained in LETHAL blows, we are not going with talk is cheap and all of the BS. Simply and straight up lethal blows by the green belt. I don't know if you know much about the ranking of belts in Hapkido but that is pretty much the beginner phase. Not even talking about weapons that you use. Gracie is a bad ass no doubt but you put him in the ring with a Grand Master it would be his ass. Jiu-Jitsu, GRAND MASTER THIS GUY IS NOT.
TheBarrett1971 4 months ago
@TheBarrett1971 There is no death due to LETHAL blow in any record anywhere from hapkido on purpose or accidental look it up yourself. In Gracie Jiu Jitsu our most powerful moves are thought in the beginning & less practical moves or sport moves towards the end to make students effective asap. there & more cases for accidental death due to "beginner moves" than any other martial art to date.not to mention the one's done on purpose. this isnt including COUNTLESS arm, leg, ect breaks im sure u seen.
whyhategetadayjob 4 months ago
@whyhategetadayjob I don't need to look it up, by the yellow belt a neck snapping move is taught, do you think a broken neck is safe, of course not. Hapkido is extremely difficult and what you learn in the beginning is simply added onto as each belt advancement. And yes there is a heart blow taught by the green belt in Hapkido, and done correctly will KILL.
TheBarrett1971 4 months ago
@TheBarrett1971 Yes Hapkido is very under rated in the pro martial arts sports in america. The North Koreans specail forces use this training style to the extreme... and admitingly, this it scary shit to watch.

@pizzasuits Yes it is my friend.

@TheBarrett1971 like i said those moves have never been tested scientifically or even by accident EVER! not even ONCE in history..if i say "I could place my hand in 3 spots on your chest then you'll die instantly..you can PRACTICE it too.but DONT ever TRY it cuz it works" um thats called a con-artiest not a martial artiest..look it up yourself..hell even ask your master..those attacks have never been DONE but im sure they've been attempted..you go attempt it..i PROMISE your victim will be safe
whyhategetadayjob 4 months ago
@whyhategetadayjob Well I will see if Master wishes to practice it on someone.

@TheBarrett1971 THIS IS THE EXACT reason why these early challenges were conducted to prove these magic death strikes dont exist..dont you think out of the 231,688 people who saw this link not 2 mention the other links, that ONE hapkido guy would step-up & say this is how its done..the only other guys that did went down just like this those tapes just aren't as popular on youtube..matter of fact fuck a gracie challenge! what about a simple UFC fight against ANY other style!SNAP OUT OF IT BRO
whyhategetadayjob 4 months ago
@whyhategetadayjob So someone's neck being broke would not make for a bad day? Yes by THE YELLOW BELT it is taught in Hapkido. I don't need to snap out of anything this joke of a guy was a plant or was told what to do to make someone else look good, PERIOD.
