  • whats a hcnup sub lol

  • are those the recomended dimensions for the box?

  • @tjones1055 Um, I do not think so, for the box was a premade box I bought from Crutchfield for my first system. I don't remember the airspace of it.

  • @tjones1055 Sorry, Just looked and saw the airspace in the description, it's .65 cu. ft.

  • does it rattle a lot?

  • @YehItsMyCRF Well, I don't have this system anymore, but when I did, I did rattle my car, but not as much as say 12's.

  • I do my own installs but when I got a 2003 max I wanted someone to install the system. They said they couldn't put my fuckin sub amp in the trunk. Then they almost fried my sub amp. They installed both amps under the damn seats, put the fuse distribution deep in behind the center console. It sounds good but they had the gain on the 4 channel up way to high and didn't ground the sub amp right. Might be better where you are but the damn place ryhmes with best buy.

  • @killak2115 HAHA, I think I might know the place you are talking about, lol. But yea, I never had my sound systems installed by someone else, other than myself. I just feel better knowing I can rely on myself, and not anyone else, well besides the help of my brother. But installing the amps under the seats is a big no-no, IMO. Just the fact that it get absolutely no air what-so-ever does not help me sleep beter at night.

  • @jsdodge90 not only is there no air but its a dust and garbage trap under there. I will probably go back to doing my own installs.

  • haha i installed the same deck in my girls car, sounds good and cheap too! nice stuff you got here check out mine my newest vid and comment back

  • @Hottnolanigga lol hell yea man.

  • how many ohms is that amp wired to

  • @def4life89 the amp was set up, i think, to 2 ohms. giving 250w per sub.

  • nice check out mine

  • dats not even how u hook up 2 DVC Subs to a mono amp. look it up buddy, you'll blow one out. guaranzzzz i did em before

  • thats how i had mine hooked up ..worked fine

  • @trunkbangking yea, i have no idea what that guy is talking about. mine ran fine too.

  • i have a stupid question why 10's?

  • lol. just because they were cheap and i didnt want 2 12's. didnt need all them speakers.

  • Whhaaa i have the same subs in my max now except there ported, iam glad to see its just a bad design in the sub that causes the basket to rattle, mine rattles just like yours.

  • yea, you cant hear the rattle up close, just in this vid for some reason. they used to hit really hard, but i have have been having problems with them or my amp lately, they dont hit hard any more. im not sure why.

  • ya if only they kept their paper cone

  • BASSSSS, wish I could do that but it would add more weight to my car lol!! I bet you turn heads from a few blocks away :D

  • haha. yea, i do turn a few heads. my parents can hear it when im about 1/4 mile from my house. i know i would definatly put some subs in the gorgeous beastly SRT. thats a sick ride man, im jealous. lol

  • Dude nice vid but y r yo subs upsidown

  • thanks. because i had my box the other way around when i installed my subs, but they hit hard like they are now. i just never put them back right side up.

  • @fhgjdklsjuek i fail to see how that matters man

  • nice setup so far. i have a 2000 maxima with 2 12in jl audios and i like what you did with your amp mounting it on the back of the seats, wish i woulda done that lol if you want some good songs try: whoop rico- show stoppaz, youre a jerk- new boyz, a milli- lil wayne, hypnotize- young jeezy, those are just a few though almost any lil wayne, young jeezy, or chamillionare song hits hard theres lots of other good stuff out there too though

  • sweet. and thanks. i actually have your a jerk and a milli on my iPod. and your right, they do hit hard. i want to make another vid with some better songs. ill try the other songs, though, thanks.

  • YOU SHOULD TRY YOUR SYSTEM WITH THE SONG

    CHIN CHECK BY: N.W.A.

DAT BASS SOUNDS BETTER DEN ANYTHING

SEND ME A MESSAGE TO SEE IF IT SOUNDS G.

    NICE SYSTEM.

    -TaLY

  • but i like the set up i wasnt hatin so i hope you dont take tht offensively i didnt mean it to be that way

  • nah its cool. i understand and frankly, that would most likely look better. not a bad idea, but i didnt want to drill a hole into the middle wall of my box. i almost wire my subs that way.

  • what you should have done is instead of twisting wires together and sticking them in the amp you should have ran the wire to 1 sub then another wire from that sub to the next looks better

  • i love profile amps check mine out!

  • nice man. what RMS your putting out on your cali? that thing is huge!

  • about 320rms x 2 , my subs put up a 3.5 ohm load so maybe a lil more .

  • wow. i hope so. 320 isnt a whole lot for a 2000w amp. but yours is a 2 channel. mines a mono and im pushing 250 rms to each sub.

  • if its mono man its putting 500 rms watts out lol it dosnt regulate the power to both subs itll be pushing 500 rms watts and your subs would be 500 rms watts together. and the 2000 watt one is a monster it is 320 rms by 2 or if it is bridged to 1 channel it puts out 960 rms watts by 1. i want to get 2 of them myself.

  • yea, i gotcha. im ready to upgrade on my amp, also. i want some more power.nbut RF amps are too pricey right now, and i want a RF amp.

  • yep. i agree, they do make some killer boxes. just cant wait to get it done. hopefully ill get it soon. i know them 10's can hit harder than they do now.

  • yea, i need to sit down and figure out what my ports need to be for 35 Hz. either that, or call RF and let them tell me like i did last time. lol.

  • no lol get some 12's first lol 10's dont make enough noise lol.

  • ha. i know. i think im ready for some more slam now. but the money isnt right yet. so imma try to squeeze everything i can outta my 10's. they are hitting hard though.

  • well when you do kenwood's excellon amps are bad ass. the x1r puts out 1200 rms watts by 1 at 2 ohms. it does what it says to by the way damn thing is compact and you cant beat the price and the power. or cheaper 100 bucks less is the 9104d 900 rms watts. i like my kenwood amps they do what they say they can do and more.

  • yea, i heard the kenwood amps are pretty damn good. my buddy has a 1600 watt kenwood with 2 kenwood 12's and it pushes alot of power. i have been thinking about the kenwoods, though.

  • i know how the money thing is man i have to pay a 600.00 fine before july 17 so i know how that goes lol. besides the 1500.00 a month in child support i am stuck with. i will get me something better soon though. i am thinking 1 15" cvr with the 900 rms watt kenwood amp. it should do me just right you know. but then ill have to upgrade my mids and highs which i was thinking of alpines type x series. they are like 100 rms watts each and all or more i dont remember. but i gotta have my highs to lol

  • wow. that sucks.but yea im in college, so cant really spend the money like i want. i checked out that website, and you were right. a decent kenwood amp it pretty cheap! i forgot which one, but i was thinking the last one on the list. if i do that, then i would have to up my subs to match the power coming from the amp, or risk having the more power going to my subs since the take 250 RMS. i think the sub was giving around 400 or 450 rms per sub.

  • they got some sweet subs for cheap to i want to get a couple of them power bass subs there pretty good subs and that site is awesome cheap.

  • yea, i was looking at their subs too. they are really cheap.

  • i thought so lol i am gonna order me up a couple more 12's i cant fit 2 15's in my car so when i get the blazer ill put the 15's in there.

  • Nice setup...check out my system

  • thanks bro. you have a killer setup, also. gotta love Rockford Fosgate! lol

  • haha well thats cool man

does your max have the climate control or the regular knobs and switches for ac and shit?

yeah i saw the black one but i went with that weird oem gray colour instead.

  • yea, i got the auto. electronic climate control stuff whatever its called. i have the SE Titanium Edition. SE, but more added features. it has everything the GLE has, but except for traction control, limited slip, and heated seats. but overall, i much rather have my T/E than have to GLE to get the other 3 features. i have several things the GLE and GXE doesnt have, such as bright finish rims, chrome maxima seal plates, titanium accent color dash and stitching, and such. so yea, i rather T/E.

  • i meant to put this earlier, but if you look at 0:58 you will see it. if that is what you was referring to. which i think it is.

  • lol i used to think i was cool when i had 1500 watts and two twelves in a pro box in my trunk.

i got burt out on bass fast.

i got the scoche(sp?) dash instal kit cause i wanted it to match colour better but it was a bitch to instal. i went with alpine and kicker :)

  • lol i just realized your the guy with the flows. but did you mean scorche? i had a 1200w scorche wiring kit, which really wasnt a 1200w kit since the power was 5 gauge and 8 gauge ground. but now i have street wires kit with 4 gauge power wire. i got my dash kit from crutchfield. not sure what brand. was easy to install.

  • i see. i misread the other comment. i thought you meant the fuses were to small, lol. and yea, it is a pretty good amp for the price. i paid like $160 for it. i have never heard of Profile before, so i wasnt sure. but its pretty good. only thing i dont like is if you dont have enough ventilation to it, it will shut off because its a mono. lol i never heard of new orleans bounce. lol. i love the rap from back in the day. K&A, Juvenile, Ying Yang Twins, etc. RF just told me to tune it to 40 Hz so.

  • and what you mean new orleans bounce? lol.

  • thanks man. my box should be coming soon, hopefully. spring break is over so im not real sure when it will. i want it bad though. i would really like to dynomat my trunk, but it gets a little expensive for my budget right now. maybe in the summer. for the box, i plan on tuning it to around 35 Hz. the fuses came with the amp. you think i can get more power with bigger fuses? will that hurt the amp or subs? i figured that was fine. also, im about 40 miles south of lafayette.

  • And yea....I'd build a bigger, better, ported box.....it's cheap and fairly easy if you handle cutting wood well. All you have to do is pick up some MPF wood about 3/4" think a 4' x 8' sheet would be plenty. There are plenty of schematic sheets on the net about exact dimensions for your box setup. If you want info on a box build sheet just ask me....I know where a bunch of them are. lol

  • (your 3rd comment) i do indeed work good with wood, lol. one of my fav hobbies, actually. my original plan is to make a test box out of some scrap 3/4'' plywood laying around in my shop with the right volume and porting sizes to see how they sound. then, after tweaking and getting it right, i will make a final, more appealing box. i tried to figure all the sizes on dimensions of the box as a whole, but i will definately like to know where i can get the dimensions setup your mentioned. that would

  • really save me some time and work. lol. also, on the gain subject, i understand that there is a "certain, right way" to adjust the gain. that is my main problem with my amp right now, i think. maybe not, just might be all the settings on my deck too. any ideas?

  • Once you have the loudness off and the other settings on your amp down except gain....all you should do from there is set your gain exactly like you said before....turn it up where you hear clean bass and once you hear distortion you know you went too far. lol You can also set the gain according to the right voltage to your amp....but I seem to find out that is only relative and doesnt really work out well.....I've tried. lol

  • yea, i gotcha. i tried the website you sent me, but i cant go to it. maybe because it isn't a website, i noticed it starts with C: drive, so its straight from your computer. lol, i cant open it online.

  • Since you have a bass knob, don't turn your gain up all the way and use your bass knob as a sub volume knob. Thats not whats its for. Im not sure if you are using it like that, but I just thought I'd clear that up. lol Set your gain correctly where it should be and just use the knob as a quick way to turn the bass down if you ever need to. Like if your girlfriend is in the passenger seat and doesn't want to hear all that. ; )

  • (your 2nd comment) i think i mentioned in the previous comment, my gain isnt all the way up. just enough to get the clear, slamming bass i want. with the knob, i dont think im using it the way your saying not to. when i turn up my bass knob all the way, i get the clean, crisp bass without the distortion, for i hate distorted bass. and yeah, i do use it to turn the bass down, although some times, the bass doesnt go down, lol. but with this knob, after about halfway, there is no bass increase.

  • Ok yea....I was just making sure your using it the right way.....it sounds like you are. And my knob does the exact same thing.....Once I get halfway there isnt any more volume increase....it gets ahead of itself I guess. lol

  • The only thing I would suggest about the amp settings is that I would turn all of your amp setting down all the way like bass boost, eq, frequency, etc. and just let your gain appropriately. Also, if you have a loudness option on your headunit I would turn that off cuz all it does is distort the sound and could blow your subs of not careful. Just set the bass/mid/treble settings on your headunit so you can balance everything.

  • (your 1st comment) i am not real sure what some of the settings are, like the subsonic. phase, i think, is where the bass follows the music later. and low pass is the levels bass frequncies you allow to pass. correct me if im wrong. i have the subsonic halfway, if i remember right. low pass, i have low i think. bass boost, im either have very low or off. and the gain is where i get most of my bass from. i do have the loudness on high, so ill try if off.

  • Yea man, I would just keep all of that stuff, subsonic filter, phase, all that stuff down cuz all it does is add distortion to your signal plus you dont need it. Your gain setting is all you need really.....

  • Hey man, looks and sounds great! Pretty decent setup. : )

  • thanks man. soon, i will add a ported box and repostion the amp. not a good spot for it there.

  • check my 2x12" rocford setup =)

  • thanks.

i know, i cant wait to make it. i will most likely this week though.

  • yea bro

    nice clean setup

that new box will definatelly add some more thump to it
