@WAMEDJO Yes! I agree w you! The whole thing is all abou cost , marketing, as always! But since nobody else, to my knowing ever toched this point, I dared to comment how two wonderful masterpieces so beautiful, IMHO don't match well together, even for seasoned listeners, are always put together. Perhaps this world lacks imagination. I copied and reassembled the Debussy St. Qt. w Ravel´s Trio in a CD to listen when I'm travelling and it really works.THx! KRs, Luiz
Your choice of words in order to express exubarance can only make on hope that one day you will grow up and be free from the vocabulary of a 15 year old.
@redhotchiliangel "Piano Trio" historically has been a term used to describe a chamber ensemble consisting of violin, cello and piano. It's analogous to the term "String Quartet", which describes an ensemble of two violins, viola and cello (not just any ensemble consisting of four stringed instruments).
I always felt a great mistake placing Debussy and Ravel St. QTs. in the same disc/album. Ravel´s Trio is the perfect match for the Debussy Quartet (explosive genius, delicacy, the whole music in two wonderful masterpieces). Ravel´s QT is a genial masterpiece of sweetness. It should be paired w something else. A wonderful quartet, all the same.
It's always been a great mystery for me to understand how programs are made. I mean, is it to put together pieces with the same mood or to play with contrasts ? Unless it sould be a mix of these two -"Do whatever you want, it's the same" as it is to say-. But one thing I know is that it's less expansive to have the same band playing all along a record :D
Anyone who doesn't think classical music or older players can rock has gotta listen to this. Outrageous piece and oh those ballsy, "we got better things to do than worry about how we look" hairdos!! Musicianship meant for listeners, not for music video watchers. (oh, by the way I'm a rock musician.)
I think such a performance would provoque night long talks amongst music lovers. Imortal!!! I´ll be slowly commenting further, perhaps. A trio like the original Beaux-Arts Trio (this one) shouws up only once in a century. If audio recordings of this trio are unbelivable, this video is stunning. After so many years playing, such passion, etc, etc. No bureaucratic playing! Wonderful individually and as ensemble, they play like possessed. Few ever did that!!!!Bravo, bravo, forever BA Trio!!!!!

@tomatojuice12 What makes you say that? I don't think it's sped up. The body movements seem quite natural.

@WAMEDJO I'm still to find a match for Ravel's St. Qt. Perhaps something by Faure. Sofar I enjoy Ravel Qt. fully listening to it alone. KRs! Luiz
