Great tutorial/review. I will have to call and check with verizon to see if it is considered a smart phone. They have told me that there is a different data package for smart phones. You mentioned how the screen kind of has the 'Gap'. Well, I have found that it's not the dust and the dirt getting in there.. It's that the 'Outside' plastic scree- The one you Touch- Will eventualy start to touch the Inner LCD. This has Happened to me on 2 Voyagers and 2 Dares, Both by LG so hopefully RIM has fixed this problem. But just keep this in mind also when considering ANY touch screen.

Actually the Storm's screen is made of glass so it doesn't work by pressure like the Voyager and Dare. It works by the electricity in your hand. I had the Voyager and I know what you mean about the outside plastic screen touching the LCD. Fortunetely this isn't a problem with the Storm.

Do you have the Storm? The screen is made of tempered glass just like the iphone or ipod touch. Have you seen the video where there's a scratch test on the Storm? There's no way plastic could withstand that kind of treatment and still be scratch free. If you look at plastic screened phones, you will see your finger indent the screen. This does not happen on the Storm. If you google it, you'll see the screen is in fact, glass.

Whether you want the storm or the iPhone is a matter of personal choice. If the most important thing to you is email and being able to have basic phone features, then get the Storm. If you care more about multimedia and you have a lot of media DRMed to iTunes or you care more about web browsing, then get the iPhone. However, if you want to get the storm, i would test out its keyboard first because the majority of people testing it say that the storm's keyboard is difficult to use.

i really like this phone. looks like a lot of people complain about the fact that they have to click the screen to select. BB should have a setting on there that allows for the touch screen to activate the choice OR the click. perhaps it will come out in a later version. other than that i am really impressed just by looking at the device. Just wondered y he compared verizon phones with at&t phones though. i would have loved to see this phone compared to the omnia. just my 2 cents

Basically ...it's about what you're willing to put up with. There are some issues with the Storm which renders it frustrating. It's that feeling that you get when you think ..'it's ...ALMOST THERE there but ...NOT QUITE.' The issues range from ... slowness of functions such as the accelerometer and browser and the lack of innovative flick scrolling and WiFi. It's still one of the best ...running a close second behind the iPhone and HTC touch HD.

i would get the iphone because it is more refined and actually does have a faster network than the BB. Unfortunately, if I were to get an iphone vs. a BB, I would get the previous BB. But, all in all, get the iphone, it is a much better deal and is so reliable. Also, the BB has a weird touch screen system which isn't reliable. Hope this helps..
