According to my Classic FM magazine which has an article on her it's a "Booth" Stradivarius made in 1716!

cool beans. wikipedia shows that the booth was loaned to her previously seeing as the video is 2 years old it makes sense that it wouldn't be the muntz. which is apparently on loan to her now.

Hm instead of phrasing I get a bow smashed on the strings, sothat the violin scratches.

Every violin has it's own basis-sound. you can make it sound if you do not press and let the string swing in its own way. That is what Heifetz did all the time. I am very sorry but I didn't hear Steinbacher let the violin be itself - she ev surpressed her.

Don't worry about the Strad, it sounds like this piece has to sound ! Don't worry about this fingernail ! Just look and hear... Forget this "talented", Arabella was talented 10 years ago, I think, she is one of the really great violinists.

Poor Muntz :( she's brutalizing that Stradivarius. This piece should not be played on so fine an instrument. Talented violinist though.
