adele's artistry is astonishingly grand & whole & overwhelming. i can't imagine how a 21 yr old woman can sing with the conviction of a 55 yr old season vocalist making u hang onto & believe EVERY breathe of her words... she's simply OVERWHELMING! we won't even go into the depth of the lyrics... she must be from outer space. i feel blessed to be sharing the same planet with her & having the ability to hear her music.

i am a huge cure fan too, "close to me" is one of my top 100 fav's songs of all time. having said that, their version of their song, "lovesong" is in my opinion incredibly unremarkable. adele's version turns the tide & give authentic heartfelt conviction to the song making it sincere and more meaningful. thanks.

Aside from one or two songs (including this one) I thought the album was a huge disappointment. The girl has a fantastic voice, and truth be told she does sing with conviction but I think people are fooled by this, thinking that means the music is quality. On the whole it's pretty commercial outing full of sappy mid-paced ballads. Let's hope she doesn't turn a complete sell-out. I am curious to see what material a third album will bring, I have a feeling it willl be much of the same.
