  • I got about the same truck 2000. I can catch 85 in third and 100 in forth don't know about 5th gear.

  • that shifted early my 04 shifts right at 6000 rpm at wot with a automatic, anyone saying its best to shift at 4500 is crazy your just boging it down these vortec trucks love to rev unlike your older peanut heads on the 95's and older but even my other truck with a 5.7 shifts at 5500, anyway nice truck lol

  • not bad its very good for a v6 i love the 5.3 tho but gas milege sucks but im very impressed by the v6 4.3 im trying to get a used silverado with a 4.8 buts its hard to come buy there either single cab or lots of milege but mostly all the silverado i see have 5.3 but i still love ur truck

  • @ska7er96 What year? I know ppl with 05-07 5.3's that get 15-18 on avg, which is better then 4.3.

  • dude its not a diesel

  • You can hear a little whine(: sounds nice!

  • slow!

  • that sound bring back so many memories

  • Wow, I didnt know that the 4.3 puled that hard! what kind of cab? I know that a 2005 Tundra v6 4.0l can do it fairly fast for a truck!

  • thank god i have a 5.3l reg cab lol the 4.3 is a strong ass motor tho

  • Haha my truck is also a 4.3 with 5 speed. I clocked a 0-60 of 13.5 seconds. It has about 117,000 miles. It needs a tune up pretty bad.

    Single cab 2001.

  • How do you beat 5.0's and Hemi's with an 11 second 0-60 time?

  • @jimmytheas and especially a civic si, considering my dx hatchback goes 0-60 in 8 seconds. and the si does it in a little over 7.

  • make sure you guys remember to double clutch i went through a clutch doing shit like this

  • my gauge goes up to 120 and i had it pinned a little past it. dont be ignorant.

  • sounds like somethin's wrong with all of your silverado's. haha mines a stock 4.3 and i can get it to 125 with 33's on it. just takes a long time though :P

  • @thomasfergus the speedo doesnt even go to 125? it stops at 100 lol...i have a stock 2002 silverado single cab long bed 5 speed 4.3l v6 it goes from 0-60 in 11.3second and stays at 89. never higher speed.

  • @Honda2x409 you need a tuner to remove the speed limiter. it will top out around 130

  • 85 and thats it? Damn.....

  • is ur truk an automatik or is it a stikshift??

  • could you tell a big diff with the new exhaust??

  • I had a 2000 Silverado with the 4.3, 5 speed and 3.08 rear axle.....the engine was rated at 200 HP from the factory......

  • they didn't offer 3.08's in the new body style trucks.

    either 3.23 or 3.42

  • did all of the 4.3s come with a governer? I'm looking at a 99 regular cab 5 speed.... if it has one, how do i take it out?

  • yes it is gov. limited...u can get rid of by getting either a custom tune by a professional or buy a tuner...i would go with a custom tune, which is better since the tuners are too save and dont give a 100% performance upgrade...

  • can you explain what governer is?

  • i can hit the gov. in 3rd with my 4.3 its around 100 mph and 5500-6000 rpm

  • yah wait alittle before you sjift

  • No definitely not.

The best place to shift the 4.3L is around 4500rpm.

It makes peak torque at 2800 and peak Hp at 4400rpm. The power falls off real quick after 4500rpm...

  • no i have to disagree mine shifts alot better at 5-5500 mine is an auto though but its alot faster and harder ive ran 4.3 trucks which they are slower anyway but it seems like from a roll the autos are faster and when i say theyre a slower my blazer isnt stock now i do know with a standard it would be so much better but for now it keeps with v8's (78 camaro 355, 289 stang, 305) idk maybe in those but in mine i just dont think so

  • yep.... well said

  • @rm125 thats like my 08 4.2L f150. limiter is 5200 but it is best to shift right at 5000. after 5000 it falls on its face. my 0-60 so far is about 9-9.2 with my f150 with a K&N intake. just ordered an sct tuner with custom tunes but i havent gotten it yet.

  • @timmypstyle you can pull a supercharger off a 90's thunderbird supercoupe that has the 3.8L in it and it will bolt up to the 4.2L no problems.

  • @northeasteg6 need an adaptor plate for the thunderbird S/C tho. also would need a tuner with custom tunes which apparently the SCT X3 cant do S/C tunes. i got my tuner and am still waiting on tunes that work. been thru 6 bad ones so far. but an S/C would be cool. just not worth it for how much more it would make in power. maybe see 260hp? would be nice but not for the money. right now sitting at about 205hp maybe 210 with my tuner when i get the custom tunes.

  • ajust shift points

  • idk what yall are doin but i have had my 03 4.3 5 spd over 100 stock

  • My silverado 5.3 has a 95mph governor on it. Sucks on long trips, always on the governor, which kills the gas mileage.

  • lol thats sucks....glad mine dont have one...

  • the v6 is not built for speed, this is a work truck and is gets the job done fine. i have a 4x4 4.3 5 speed when we go mudin its torquey as a bicth and can keep up with a jeep

  • what my 4.3l in my blazer be killin on the streets bro and if i had a standard i would be ridiculous just the other day i whooped a civic and a v6 stang which neither were hard to beat but i whooped em. check my blazer out

  • not bad. have you done anything hp wise. My 2001 gmc 4.3 5 speed has flowmaster super 40, dyno tuned, high flow air filter, 160 temp.

  • with the 160 temp.....is it chip?

  • it must be illegal to tach over 4000

  • loseerrr revolucionala mas para que tenga mas aceleracioon

  • so does this one have a gov on it?

  • yes and it suck balls. I have a 2001 gmc 4.3 v6 5 speed and it's gov'd at 97MPH. I shift at about 5 to 5.5 RPM's

  • lol this one guy thinks it doesnt and he says o i can go 120 in mine lol

but yea the 5.3 does at 5.5

  • cool vid

  • alot faster than i thought it be, nice good job

  • i could probably do that faster in my 94' blazer.

  • Thanks You just Sealed the Deal On my Plan Thanks ALot.

  • I used to drive a 1500 v6 5spd and you could get suprisingly good gas milage when you wanted too, almost as good as my altima

  • Hey Im looking into buying a 01 Chevy 1500 with the 4.3 and a 5 speed what was the Milage that you got in yours just Curious Thanks.

  • i got 22 around town with my foot out of it

  • do it, I just bought my 01 silverado 4.3 and get 23mpg with automatic when im not doing burnouts and such

  • yes my 4.3 with 205000 miles get that ...not average doe cause i hav a heavy foot

  • my dad almost bought a 1996 silverado short bed regular cab with a 5speed 2wd,and the v6. but the second gear was gone to he got a 1998 cheyenne short box ext cab auto with a v8

  • around 9 seconds. That's about like my 96 1/2 ton 4x4 with a manual and a 4.3

  • I'd do one of these video's, but eh..i dun wanna lmao

  • why would you shift short of horsepower peak? torque is the max work the engine can do, but horsepower is how fast it can do it. Without hitting horsepower peak youre just bogging the engine down.

  • Incorrect. Horsepower is nothing but a sales figure.

As Enzo Ferrari once said: "Horsepower sells cars, torque wins races."

  • I'm afraid I am correct. Enzo Ferrari is right in saying that torque wins races - it's a measure of work that can be done. Hence the label, pounds/foot. However, All the torque in the world means nothing if it can't be done with any speed - that's where horsepower comes in. HP is a measure of work (torque) over time.

Semi tractor engines can do a lot of work, but not quickly (high torque, low hp). Racecar engines can't do a lot of work, but they can do their work quickly (low torque, high hp)

  • nope, it's funny that my 200 hp truck with a camper top can edge out (older) mustang gt's, 5.0's, civic si's, hemi trucks, etc etc from a 30-40 mph roll. I've got a big noticeable v-6 sticker on the back just to piss everyone off even more. It's all about the torque and the 5 speed

  • is your truck a 4.3L also what did you do to it to make 200HP

  • @zxvcw they are 200hp out of the factory.

  • @wuta45 nice =]

  • @wuta45 None of the videos on youtube support anything you have said. The older 5.0s were rated at 205-235HP, and From 250-300Ftlbs of tourq. The cars were also lighter

  • @orbitofdoom16 he said older. i hope he's not ttalking about the 150hp 2barrel 5.0's that came in the 70's

  • @northeasteg6 Its very, very unlikely to find a 2 barrel 70s Mustang. If you do, its an early 70s, with 200hp

  • @orbitofdoom16 i own one, not in the best shape. 1975 mustang. 302 2barrel 140HP RWHP stock. im gonna drop a fuel injected 347 in it hopefully next summer.

  • Comment removed

  • not bad for a V6, it's good that ur shifting right into the maximum torque instead of wasting all of those RPM's

  • is that full throttle?

  • i wish mine came with the MT,,the automatic is sloooooow!!!

  • lol ... is yours the 4l60e ...thats wat my dad has an i hate it

  • v6.................
