  • Does the canteen cup work well on this stove?

  • can i use lighter fluid with this or rubing alcohol ? please respond

  • @tony2timekilla I wouldn't suggest it, I don't believe it would work, and would likely just go up real quick in a Poof

  • @canteencorner o well where can i find the proper fuel for this

  • @tony2timekilla Get the HEAT in the Yellow Bottle at any auto parts store or Walmart. It is cheap burns clean and last a while.

  • @canteencorner ok will do thanks for the help great vid and great shop hope to see more videos soon have a nice day

  • @tony2timekilla I have a trangia alcohol stove. You can't use any sort of petroleum products with alcohol stoves. I tested mine with rubbing alcohol, it generated nasty black smoke, and left black soot on the pot. Now I use denatured alcohol with it. Denatured alcohol is available at any hardware store. You can also use, everclear or methanol (heet in the yellow bottle).

  • I love Mine, I can use Wood, Or my little alchohol stove,or the cubes, sterno, ect.

I mostly use the Alchohol for making tea or Coffie or use it just to boil water for a back pac meal..If I want to do more I can,, I carry both stoves and the weigh about nothing.. And the wood works great The other stove works grea too,, Free Fuel . And I wood is free.. I mostly use little stick and gather more for later. Its like having a small lil fire and it helps keep ya warm if your about 15 inches away..

  • Where in the online store is this multi tool??

  • @2KARGARAGE Unfortunately right after I started carrying it my suppliers stopped stocking it.

  • use the different heet for alcohol stoves, it comes ina yellow bottle

  • what boots are you wearing in this vid? if i may ask?

  • @docnwoody They are the waterproof Timberland Hiker Boot. You can get them for $70-$90 at most places that sell Timberlands. Very Comfortable and warm.

  • what boots are you wearing in this vid? if i may ask?

  • how long will the alcohol last when the stove is full?

  • @OWNmeansPWN 15 - 16 Minutes

  • Great video. Like the stove but especially like the multi-tool.

  • I was just looking into that titanium cup earlier! I looks like a good one. With a good lid too :o)

  • @Ggreenvideos It is a great cup, i have enjoyed it.

  • The Yellow heat or pure methyl alchohol are best in stove of that kind, Alot have gone to capillary stoves that can light like a wick. Mr. Bill troop 73 shows how to build a build anywhere stove. the Isopropol alchohol is last resort fuel for most Alchohol stoves as it leaves soot everywhere & is a tough & smelly burn. If u could get some Pure (not denatured) ehthonol, drinking alchohol, it produces great heat/vol & burns the cleanest. u could make char cloth with that stove I think. thanks.

  • 1 gallon of denatured alcohol is like $15 at BORG type stores. I was buying a quart for like $6 at the hardware stores before that.

  • thanks man

  • Just wanted to mention the Yellow bottle of heat is Methyl alcohol. Red is Isopropyl alcohol. The Methyl will not leave soot. You also will not see a flame in direct sunlight.

  • Vargo needs to come out with a titanium canteen cup and cup stand.. That would be sweet.

  • how much is that multitool gonna cost?

  • @PerryKing96 $75 - definitely check out more reviews for it on Youtube - I didn't show it very well, but people love it. You guys will see me use all this gear more. I have a 65 Acre plot of forest I will be filming in after the 12th of this month. All the gear I have showed is what I will be using through the winter.

  • Where's the tissue?

That annoying sniffle has got to go....

  • @60odeeman I will try to stop breathing just for you.

  • Like others have said, get the HEET in the yellow bottle. The red bottle is Isopropyl alcohol and burns very sooty and is not that great. The yellow bottle is methyl alcohol and burns cleaner and is better for the stove.

I like that cup/pot too. Good video.

  • Hot chocolate with a boost...loving that idea!!! Going to talk about the 8x8 tarp any? Victorinox puts out great products. Have to go leatherman though...loyalty and all that...lol!!! Does that stove use tabs, liquid, both? Thanks for ur work, effort and time. 5*

  • @drumgodtim Caffeinated Hot Chocolate is Good Stuff, a must in my kit now. The stove can be used with fuel tabs as well. You just take out the Alcohol burner and use the base for the tab. That is why I decided to carry this model - duel use!

  • I've got a Vargo Titanium Spork. It's still holding up and I like it.

  • 5/5m8

  • yeah, I like the yellow heat better.....but SLX is cheaper in bulk, I pay 290 for a bottle of heat, and 500 for SLX at wal-mart with 3 times as much fuel in it. Have a variety of alcohol stoves...some pop can, and one cottle....the cottle is the hottest I have found yet.

  • i agree with red cell, i think that heet is the cheapest cleanest burning fuel for alcohol stoves. it performs really well in the cold as well

  • @pk066392 Methyl hydrate is just as good if not better! It is 99.9% Alcy and burns very clean and hot. It's only $8 Canadian for 4 liters.

  • @Ggreenvideos Thats right. Its called Methanol more commonly here in the US. Very cheap here also. Its used as racing fuel and what I use in my stoves most often.

  • @KB3GZW Here in Canada we have methanol as well , for racing and using in oil tankers in winter to keep valves and such from freezing. I think they call it methyl hydrate just for retail purposes as they probably can't label it methanol.

  • Use the yellow bottle of HEET.

    It will burn clean.

  • @RedCellx6 Thanks I will try that. This was the first time I had tried heat, red was the only color they had when I bought it. I usually just use alcohol.

  • The yellow bottle of HEET will make a night and day difference Rob.

I really like the 8x8 tarp thank you for making it available.

  • i'll agree the yellow Heet6 burns cleaner,Klean-Strip Denatured Alcohol will burn realy clean also,Thats what i used all last year

  • @quartermain1973 Hey Cooper - whats up brother! I prefer the alcohol too, but I am gona give the Yellow bottle heet a try. My preferred method is the small fire under the stove stand, but we gotta try new things right

  • Right lol, glade to see you making videoes agian

  • looks like canteen shop has moved away from a canteen :)

    nice gear

  • @spr00sem00se - I was waiting for that - haha, the canteen kit will be back in spring:)

  • i thought about buying the msr titan kettle because it looked like it souwl nestle well with a nalgene,

but i bought a canteen kit because they are well thought out and indestructible, so i didnt change after all,

i love the weight of titanium though hey ?
