  • This is fantastic. Nice one.

  • Lovely!, Ar Hyd A Nos is such a beautiful song, great to hear an authentic down-to-earth version of it.

Da iawn, ac diolch yn fawr!

  • Hardd iawn. Dwi'n medru cysgu yn hapus rwan. Diolch yn fawr iawn!

  • Wish I could come up with a profound, incisive comment like maple1212, but it would drain all the energy from my brain. You two give a beautiful harmonic rendition...and really helpful to an old guy who likes to sing and wants to learn Welsh songs. Take requests? Can you do Llwyn Onn in duet?

  • @MTondeleo i have llwyn onn music video,...but you are right they wud be best

  • Mae'r gwrando i'r gan yma yn gwneud fi'n falch o fod yn gymro.

  • WTF?

  • I'm only beginning my 3rd lesson at SaySomethinginWelsh. com and this was really helpful in how to form the words. Diolch! and besides that, you girls just sing a lovely song. great voices! Da iawn ti!

and compared to you two i suck haha.

  • lovely lovely!

  • As it should be. Intimate and with feeling. Choirs are too big for that.

  • Can you two come sing this to my new baby at bedtime :)? Beautiful.

  • Da iawn...Lovely, you show that old traditional songs can be reworked sensitively and you clearly enjoyed performing on this recording. It was great to watch. Keep smiling...! Alun

  • Welsh and wonderful and sung like angels. Thank you.

  • Arddun Lefau Merched :]

    Pump Seren!

  • Mae hi'n braf. :)

  • Caru'r gan yma, yn atgofa of fy ffrind goaru sy'n y nefoedd :(

  • Both are lovely. The girl on the right looks a bit like Glynis Johns (daughter of Mervyn) with, classic Welsh features

    Nice rendition.

  • beautiful song, beautiful voices, beautiful girls .. don't get much better ;)

  • Thanks so much. My great grandmother came to America when she was 7, and she sang on the ship to make money. All her family settled in a small town and worked as miners. They had red hair, fiery tempers and lives center on the church. When I heard these stories, no knew knew that these are stereotypical Welsh qualities and it wasn't till years later that I learned that music, mining, short tempers and the church are all the marks of this proud people. Some day I'll learned Welsh!

  • can hyfryd iawn.

gwneud i fi fod yn falch o fod yn Gymares.

  • My favourite Welsh names are Mairwyn and Bronwyn.

  • I love this song. I learned a shorter, English version, but now I want to learn it in Welsh. It sounds so beautiful in the original language!

  • very beautiful! Greetz from Holland (it is also a Hymn at here) ...

  • Beautiful; I just sent the link to a friend

    with a new baby.

  • My gran has been wanting me to learn a Welsh song for yrs. Despite being born in Australia, she and her sister maragaret always used to speak welsh... but with time, they lost it. So I spent a few hrs on the net listening to Meinir, and I learned Ar Hyd Y Nos. I called my Grandma and sang it over the phone. She was in tears. Thanks so much Meinir. Ps. She now wants me to learn Cwm Rhondda but I can't find a clear recording of it in Welsh anywhere. Any ideas?

  • While you're looking for Cwm Rhondda, learn Calon Lan. Your gran will be in tears again.

  • Look up local Welsh society and ask for choir

  • I am truly in love with this.

  • BEUTIFUL. Absolutly beutiful

  • I'm so spellbound by everything Welsh.

I need a Welsh name. If anyone can help me out with that, I'd be very thankful. My Welsh is restricted to "Diolch" and "Sut dych chi."

  • Well some welsh names are. Boys; Gareth, Jon. Girls; Gwen, Anwen, Meinir.

    Hoped this helped!

  • I need a Welsh name? How odd. Anyway, I've never heard of JOon being Welsh, here are some better ones - Gwylym, Rhys, Myrthyn (possibly Merlin the Wizards real name, but the spelling got altered over time - pesky English), Owain, Dai (pronounced die), Geraint, and Rhiannon, Llynos for the girls. So Rolf, where you from that makes you want a Welsh name?

  • Some parents in Wales are starting to call their daughters 'Seren', which is the Welsh word for Star (as in a star in space, not a pop star).

  • how bout Carys :) its my name :) and geraint is my dads and rhys is my brothers rhiannon is my second cousins :)

  • thanks for this

  • neis iawn, oes rhywun yn gwbod os ma Meinir wedi gwneud versiwn o 'Ceisiwch yn gyntaf'?

  • No idea what they are singing, but I like it.

  • It's the old Welsh song, Ar Hyd Y Nos. Translated into English, it's "All Through the Night." It's a truly beautiful lullaby.

  • Gwych Gwych Gwych
