@kitesandrobots because you wouldn't want your dog wandering around.. you also wouldnt want a little donkey running around. they are smarter and can cause one heck of a lot more trouble than a dog.. people also get very un easy around "farm" animals.. so its just better to keep the little bugger in check before lol. i have had lots of donkeys/ponies/horses.. donkeys by FAR are the cleverest =] and nicest.

@Moonessence1 just take it really slow, give them both LOTS of treats whenever they are around each other, and with a little luck it will work.. but consistency is the KEY! make sure they see each other at least once a day and be really happy/encouraging when something goes askew. they will slowly get the picture. you can totally do it =]

I to work around farm animals and im CONSTANTLY being told what to do and what not to do, sick to death with them snooping. i remember saddling up my horse and a woman came up and slapped it saying 'she shouldn't be moving when you saddle her' 1, what gave her the RIGHT to slap my horse and 2. its AN ANIMAL IT WILL MOVE!!. besides you other video showed the 2 having fun, city folk cannot distinguish between aggression and play. @cateyes221981 For all you know the donkey is an escape artist. And the pasture he has him on is pretty lush, he is fat and healthy and happy by the looks of it to me. And he doesn't seem to be unhappy or suffering in any way from being tied. He seems quite used to it, so mind your own business.

Aww, some knowledgeable people who watched the other vid could easily tell the "Easter" was happy chasing the Dog, and vise versa. I laughed (and I never laugh at animal abuse) many times during the first one, and "awwwed" many times during this one. It's funny people! One of our donks will usually try to stomp dogs, but for some reason made friends with an ancient Lahsa Apso (sp?). Let the little dog lick his face and eyes, even. This was a dog that had "mothered" horse foals for years at a breeding farm, so maybe she had the body language down. Whatever it was, our donk was charmed by her.

I read the other user's comment that prompted this video. Normally, donkeys do not care for dogs, BUT, there are always exceptions to the rule! And, this is one exception. You can definitely see that they adore each other. It is very heartwarming, and I thank you for showing this great interaction between different species! (p.s. I have 6 miniature donkeys, and simply love their temperament).

So adorable! You never know what unique friendships can exist between different species. I think those other people were freaking out because normally donkeys do not tolerate dogs well, which makes them great sheep heard protectors (against wild dog, coyote, etc.). This, however, is totally different and they are obviously buddies! Thanks fo sharing. :-)
