This has been stuck in my head endlessly on draggy cold and gray days, or days where time seems to creep by and school is so boring i daydream and listen to music by my thoughts.
Indie or not they love music. They make great music and I can't imagine them ever selling out. I think they'd rather have less fans on something they appreciated making and they think is good instead of having more fans by selling out and giving up on putting out what they think is their best.
Everyone calls me a hipster. Its gotten so ridiculous that when my friend was showing someone a song and I asked if I could see it, she said I wont like it because its mainstream. WTH is up with people and their freaking labeling habits?!
I"m currently on a quest to listen to the so called Grammy Award for Album of the Year. I'm doing this because I don't want to be an ignorant tool who rejects a band because he's never heard of them. I'm Canadian and I've never even heard of them until the Grammy's. I hope the next songs are better because I am not convinced. This album has only made it as high as #12. It is a joke. The singer sucks and all the instrumentation is plain as prison walls. The lyrics do not say anything,,,
@Althalus1990 Lol, how the hell do you take an awards show as garbage as the Grammys so seriously? I was extremely surprised on hearing that a band as good as Arcade Fire managed to win something on a show that regularly awards shit for being popular. Truth is, you have horrible taste in music. I wouldn't even recommend the 'Neon Bible' album to you, now that I realize you're allergic to music that has meaningful lyrics and strong melodies.
@Althalus1990 I think you need to give them a chance. I don't like this album nearly as much as some people, but I love their past stuff. Laika, No Cars Go, Tunnels, Wake Up, Rebellion (Lies), those are all brilliant songs. Yeah, I think their album funeral is totally awesome. To me it's like an Indie Thriller.
@CrimsonOkami The suburbs and ready to start is pretty good in my opinion. This song is decent but the tempo of the chorus kind of sucks and it would have been better keeping the tempo of the 1st verse the whole song in my opinion.
@CrimsonOkami I did give them a chance, I didn't want to judge something without trying it. I listened to the whole album 3 times, on 3 separate occasions. The point of me listening was to hear if this album was worth the award, not the old Arcade music. Furthermore, if you think this is Indie then you should re-evaluate your thoughts because Arcade is mainstream now. Indie isn't a type of music, its a standard of recognition. If enough people know about you you aren't indie anymore.
this song always make me cry. remind me when i was a teenager and my friends and i just keep hangin' around, remind me how happy was and never realize that. and now, these times will never come back

did I forget to mention that the only reason they made it to #12 was because of the Grammy's?
They were at a paltry #52 before that. Pitiful.
